I liked the narrator! The FMC was kind of prickly and hard to enjoy. It was weird cause she seemed both like a people pleaser do gooder but her actions didn’t align with that?

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing me with this ARC. Assistant to a pro golfer who says he’ll never get married… I’m sure she’ll change his mind, right? Not without a few obstacles along the way. This was a cute little closed door rom-com. Easy listen and great narrators.
🏌🏻 My thoughts:
I loved seeing a sports romance with a sport that isn’t super trendy on my shelves. This is my first golf romance, and I loved the way Annah incorporated the golfing scenes. It made me so curious and interested in golf and now I need more.

⛳️ As for the main leads, Miles and Ellie had some very sweet moments together. I loved Miles and his backstory. I felt really bad for him regarding his parents. 🙈 But his troubles did give him depth that I loved to see.

⛳️ As for Ellie -Oh my goodness. Boy is she prickly. She’s often difficult and rude, and the little do-gooder in me was shocked at how disrespectful she was to her BOSS. 😂🙈. I struggled understanding why Ellie was so against golfing and golfers. While she felt quite difficult for me to love, I did see enough of her sweet moments that she wasn’t altogether terrible.

🏌🏻 There was some telling versus showing and some time jumps that I would have wanted to see because I did really enjoy Miles and Ellie and wanted to see more of those sweet moments between them. I toggled between 3.5 and 4 stars on this one but feel good about a 4 star because I keep thinking about it days later and because of how much I enjoyed Miles and his entire vibe.

⛳️ As a side note- I would love to see a book with Naomi as the FMC because I feel like her story is so deep and raw. And I NEED IT RIGHT NOW.

📚 “The Perfect Putt” is a cute sports romance told from a dual point-of-view, that offers a perfect blend of humor, banter, and heartwarming moments.

🎧 The narrators (Sybil Johnson & Dillon Sickels) bring the characters to life with their expressive voices and impeccable pacing. The banter between Miles and Ellie is electric, filled with humor and chemistry that keeps the listener entertained. Miles' journey of personal growth and overcoming past trauma is both heartwarming and inspiring. The love story between Miles and Ellie is tender and romantic, with a healthy dose of sweetness.

🔥 The pacing of the romance tends to feel rushed, with the characters falling deeply in love almost immediately after their first kiss. A longer build-up would have made the relationship feel more earned. Some of the characters' actions and motivations can feel inconsistent, particularly in the early stages of the story. While the story is enjoyable, it could benefit from more depth and complexity in the characters and plot.

Overall, “The Perfect Putt” is a charming and entertaining sports romance. Despite a few minor flaws, the strong points of the story make it a worthwhile listen. If you enjoy lighthearted romances with witty banter and lovable characters, this audiobook is definitely worth checking out.

Special thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and the editorial team for giving me the opportunity to review the ARC in audiobook format and to you, my reader, for taking the time to read this honest personal book review.

This was an easy little story, very minimal spice, no really big icks for me. It did sit comfortably around a 3.5 but decided to round down simply for one thing which just... meh... I'll get into that later.

The narrators were great and the writing was easy to follow, not overly complicated and, at times was quite lovely.

Everything below this point might be considered spoilers. So now for some little things that just made me annoyed. Most of these are pedantic and i was just writing them as I was reading:

1. Who doesnt know what cocktail attire is?
2. Who doesnt know what a driving range is?
3. Do we need full names EVERY pov switch? First name is fine...
4. Why is she so mean. He literally gave you a job and youre just mad because.. check notes... you dont like golf? There is sassy (which the story has to keep telling me she is... but all im reading is a snarky brat. Grow up.
5. Overuse of the word murmer. This is a me thing but I hate how much this word it used. It will always feel negative to me.
6. Eww shes jealous of his actual friends. I dont know why she's mad. Grow up sunshine.
7. The attraction all being physical... eew. Probavlt because she's a brat.
8. Eew putting your butt on the bench of a restuarant you dont own!

The timings feel all off. He calls one guys his closest friend, like a brother, but they met less than a year ago.
The couple are madly in love so quickly. I kept assuming I missed a massive time jump*

His dislike for "love" is stupid. Understand it at first but the longer it goes on the more flakey it is. Why is everything marriage. Dating isnt immediately marriage. Are we mormons?

Miles:
The heat mever felt mutual at the same time...
Miles, babe, you can change your name. The parents thing was weak. Boy bitch with his champagne problems

*ONE MONTH!!! LMAOOOOO (iykyk).

Okay so its the timing really that dropped this down to a three. It just felt so sudden for characters that are so young in the scheme of things. The marriage proposal just felt out of place, like these people barely know each other. That felt like poor characterisation and unlike the nonesense above, just made the book feel shallow.

Thank you NetGalley for the AudioBook ARC

This was a cute, sweet addition to my reading this early fall. I chose it purely to complete a bingo square ‘golf or tennis romance’ on the fall romance bingo BUT loved it all the same. I enjoyed the banter and back and forth between “Red” and “Miles” - made especially evident through the audiobook. I have to admit I didn’t LOVE the ending BUT that’s just me and maybe I’m feeling a bit cynical these days. I loved the cast of characters and wouldn’t mind reading more from this series - the men seem (mostly) emotionally mature and the women are strong which is really nice!

I love this unique take on a sports romance series! The series follows a group of friends, each of whom is a professional athlete in a different sport. Their commonality is their sports agent, who introduced all of them.

If you enjoy closed door (kisses only) sports romance that is full of character growth, heart, humor, friendship, and witty banter...look no further!

Miles and Ellie are such a perfect match. The banter and chemistry between them is electric. I love the character growth that Miles experiences. Watching him fall for Ellie while struggling to come to terms with past experiences was at turns sweet and heartbreaking. I love how Ellie was a ray of sunshine while also standing up for herself and what she deserved.

The friendships in this book added another level of sweetness. I loved the relationship between Ellie and her sister, it was supportive and tender. I loved getting a new view into the friendship between Miles and Shaw and their similar pasts.

I was able to listen to an ALC of the audiobook for The Perfect Putt and it was so good! The narrators brought the emotion and the chemistry. They sounded age appropriate and had really good pacing. I would absolutely recommend this audiobook to those who prefer this format.

*Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape media for the ALC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed book 1 in this series, and I was so excited to read this one, but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. The characters went from being strangers to working together to falling in love. The slow burn in this one was SLOWWWW but when the characters finally got together, they were immediately confessing their love for each other and that’s where it lost me.

I enjoyed their banter as they were getting to know each other and watching the ice melt from their “enemies-to-lovers” phase. But I had a hard time with them both immediately saying how in love they were right after their first kiss. I was a bit thrown off by the jump since it was such a slow burn, I felt like this wouldn’t have been as jarring if the book had been longer and that transition had been developed a bit more.

Overall, it was cute but not a favorite of mine. I listened to the audiobook, and I enjoyed the performance of both narrators.

This audio book was a delight to listen to! I got to read the story first and loved it and hearing it on audio only brought it to life even more for me! The banter and the slow burn tension were impeccable and the emotion of each main character's arc throughout the story touched my heart. I was giggling at the humor and blushing at the flirting and swooning at the kiss scenes. Ellie's narrator did a great job at bringing out her strong, sassy side while still showing how deeply she cared about people. Miles' narrator was wonderful at capturing the laid back aspects of his personality and the intense, dedicated passionate side of him as well. Getting to hear the beautiful prose delivered by the narrators only enriched the story experience. It was the perfect blend of fun and flirty and deep and encouraging and beautiful!

This was a quick listen, I just don’t think I will remember this book exists in a few days.

There was no chemistry with these characters. This is marketed as a “clean” romance, but I think it was taken to a whole new level. I’ve read YA books with more angst and spice to them. The dialogue was surface level at best and I really have no idea how they even managed to fall for each other. Everything about it just seemed so cliché. I could go on a wild tangent about everything I disliked about this book, but I won’t.

I didn’t mind the narration. At times it did seem overdramatize, but that could also be partly due to the writing. 😬

I’m sorry to say I likely will not be picking up anymore books from this author.

Sweet small town/golf romcom. Enemies to lovers vibes with a boss and assistant. She hates golf and he’s a golfer. I listened to the audiobook and it was a fun story. I would recommend this to lovers of sweet/closed door romances

Ok, how did I just zoom through this book in 1 morning/afternoon? It was just the sweetest fun book!

Ellie came back to town to help her newly widowed sister and her nephew, but soon realizes she loves it in Coastal Cove and wants to stay. She is trying to save up $ to open her very own flower shop when she takes the job of assistant to pro golfer Miles.

Miles is anti-relationship after growing up in a broken home with parents who were not good role models. There are instant sparks once she starts working with him and neither wants to act on them at first.

💐 Loved:
The banter between Miles and Ellie was fun. I liked that this was a closed-door romance. I never used to be into sports romances, but lately it seems like I’m really enjoying them!

⛳ Hated:
That I didn’t read the 1st book, The Golden Goal, before this one

4.5 stars rounded to 5. This is my second book by Annah Conwell and she’s slowly becoming one of my favorite authors this year! Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

This was such an unfortunate book. It seems like the author just went on Google and typed in "How to Golf" The idea wasn't original and the book missed the mark on almost every golf part. I wish the editor of this book would have been versed in golf. Overall, a really rough and bad book. Will not be recommending this. 2 Stars.

Miles, a pro golfer is in need of an assistant, and Ellie a temporary barista, is happy to to take the better paying job as Miles' assistant, however she 'HATES golf with a passion that burns as hot the sun.'
The Perfect Putt is a wonderful romantic comedy and I really enjoyed reading it when it was released, however the the audiobook topped it. The narrators brought Ellie and Miles to life and perfectly captured their nuisances and emotions.

Annah is an amazing writer and the narrators she chose has added to the story in a way I didn't know possible. I would 10/10 recommend.

Thank you to Annah and Netgalley for a free copy of this audiobook.

Who knew I would like a golf story?! I know nothing about golf, but it was a very nice change from all the hockey stories that have popped up lately in the sweet romcom genre. Miles showed up briefly in the first book (which was fantastic!!) and I loved seeing him grow and realize love is everything. Ellie is feisty and not afraid to speak her grumpy truth. Their banter was fun to read and I loved how Ellie stood up for Miles. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series!
**A couple months after reading the ebook I listened to the audiobook. The narrators were fantastic and I appreciated that the voices actually matched the characters (sometimes the voices in audiobooks, the males especially, sound 20+ years too old). It was nice to revisit Coastal Cove, though I was surprised how much of the story I had forgotten. It is just as good as the first time around!

3⭐️ Audiobook ARC Review: Okay, so. I just could not connect with this story and the characters. It's my first book by Annah, but that's not enough to judge an author. So I will for sure give her other books a chance, buuuut this one was not for me.

First, narrators can make or break a book, and sadly, the male narrator was just not good. The female narrator was so animated with her voice and fun to listen to. Even at 2x speed. But I was not a fan of the male narrator. I didn't hate him, but he wasn't great. I have a hard time with male narrators anyway. Ultimately, audiobooks are not my friend, and I need to take a break from them for now lol.

Second, characters. Ellie and Miles were so bland! They had no personality and zero chemistry whatsoever. I kind of listened to this passively while crocheting (yes I have every old lady hobby), but like Ellie was so rude to Miles and then all of a sudden she can't stop thinking about him. I was so confused. They just didn't make sense to me, and I didn't care about them and their relationship at all.

I wasn't invested at any point in this book, so it fell super flat. Like NOTHING happened. But I've heard great things about a lot of her other books, I just think she's pumping these ones out so fast that they are kind of rushed and not written well.

*Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Annah Conwell for the complimentary copy of this audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love a good golf related romance and this certainly was a great one! Miles Day is the youngest golfer to ever win the Masters and he's in need of an assistant. Ellie Day is working at Coastal Coffee shop trying to save up to open her own flower shop. Through a friend of a friend Ellie gets the job making a nice salary, but she hates golf. The banter back and forth between her and Miles is perfect and the writing style of this book made it a super fast read! I did not read the previous book in the series but this is great as a standalone. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
