I really enjoyed this fast-paced read and the friendship that formed between Ellie and Miles first. I like golf themed books so this was fun to listen to and Miles and Ellie had great chemistry. Ellie was willing to learn about golf to spend time with Miles which was sweet, but he was also always thinking about her and how he could make her happy. I loved how she stood up to his parents on his behalf and put them in their place. Overall, a good read!

It’s official. My second Annah Conwell book and I am in love! Perfect pacing, witty banter, toe-curling kisses, lots of zinging sparks and sizzles and characters who are easy to root for.
And I barely noticed that this story featured golf. I am so not a sports fan (unless it’s figure skating or horse jumping…or the Olympics) but if I had to pick my least favourite sport, it would be golf. About as exciting as watching paint dry, right? And how sporty can it be when you ride all around the course in a cart and someone else carries your golf clubs? But, you know what? Conwell made all that exciting and there was a point at the end where I was on tenterhooks because…well, can’t say why but, I couldn’t believe how invested I was in the outcome. And, mercy, but she had my emotions churning all over the place in those scenes!
And the fun thing is that Ellie thinks just like me. Not a golf fan. Not a Miles fan. She has some preconceived notions and a bit of a chip on her shoulder, if I’m being truthful. In fact she’s a bit of a grump in this reverse grumpy/sunshine trope, though Miles isn’t always sunshine-y…but, oh my, how he likes to tease!
Love the way the romance develops and how the author threw a few emotional sucker punches at this unsuspecting reader. I really like how she handles romantic conflict — it’s realistic but she doesn’t leave us wallowing in the depths of despair for too long. Phew!
‘The Perfect Putt’ is the second book in Conwell’s ‘More Than a Game’ series but reads fine as a standalone. Each book features a different sport and the guy friend group of athletes is fantastic. Their texting banter is so much fun! I’m looking forward to reading all the books in the series.
I enjoyed listening to the audio edition narrated by Sybil Johnson and Dillon Sickels. I’m discovering that I really enjoy dual narration for rom/coms and these performers really enhanced my ‘reading’ enjoyment. They captured the energy of the story perfectly.
My thanks to the author, Dreamscape Media and Net Galley for providing me with an audio copy of this book.

I enjoyed listening to this book. I appreciated that it was clean and fast-paced. There were twists in there that I wasn't expecting and characters that I easily fell in love with and ones that I loathed.

Based on NetGalley, this book will be published on August 27, but based on Goodreads and the author, it was published on June 6.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the audiobook; I really enjoyed this one! I never thought I would be interested in golf, but it was quite entertaining. I was almost getting into a reading slump, and I think this short and sweet book was what I needed to get over it. It was such a nice read!
You know the book is good when:
- He takes care of her
- He knows her favorite drink and buys it for her
- She feels like home to him
- He loses his fear of love for her
I felt like this was a really fast-paced read. I loved Miles's teasing of Ellie. He always found a way to make her squirm in the best moments, especially when she tried to be sassy! And please, let’s talk about his nickname for her: “Red,” not because she was red-headed but because she always blushed around him.
I love their bantering and stupid funny fights😂 Miles was always teasing her and not being professional at all when he was supposed to be her boss. While Ellie was trying to be professional it was nice that he was trying to make their relationship easier by trying to be friends even though she hated golf and she was his secretary. But their chemistry was amazing!
I don’t usually add quotes to my reviews but this was definitely one of my favs and I couldn’t leave it out:
“Holding Ellie feels like stepping onto the beach, like home”💕
Love Ellie’s relationship with her sisters Naomi and nephew Archie❤️. I did expect a little bit more back story of Miles's parents since they were a little bit strained, they just appeared in a couple of pages and some vague explanation was given as to why they didn’t get along. But I did felt bad for Miles at some point because he was scared to give love a try due to his parents past and divorce.
Also, I felt like the ending was a little too much and happened too fast (I won’t say what happened so I don’t spoil it). They barely knew each other for a couple of months, it felt like instant love or love at first sight, and that’s totally fine. But sometimes I don’t enjoy that so much because it doesn’t feel realistic. Apart from that the book was really good!

Annah Conwell is an author that I have meant to read for a long time - getting the ALC of The Perfect Putt prompted me to grab the first in the More Than a Game series, The Golden Goal, and now I’m a new, big fan! I totally enjoyed both of these books and it’s going to be hard to wait for the next release…
I really liked the chemistry and fun banter between pro golfer Miles, and his new, reluctant assistant Ellie. Ellie has been a barista and doesn’t like golf-bros and their attitudes, so working for Miles is going to be a big challenge. Miles figures that Ellie not being a fan-girl over him or his other golfer friends will be a nice change - except neither takes into account the close proximity of the job is going to make things very interesting between them.
I very much enjoyed the slow burn, boss employee, sports romance and especially the family dynamics (really unique in this story), and being sweet and swoony, it’s good for all romance audiences. Definitely a recommendation from me! A solid 4-star read.
Narrated by Sybil Johnson and Dillon Sickels, who are both new voices to me, but I really enjoyed their performances. I look forward to hearing more from them both!
I received an advance listen copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, and this is my honest feedback.

Well I do love a good golf romance and this one was really good. While there was no spice there was fabulous character development, angst and just the right amount of sport. Golf is also so underrated as a sports romance but I really enjoyed how the sport lends itself to romance. This is also a great example of the sins of the father are not the sins of the son. Also, as an Australian, I loved the use of the last name Day for the MMC! The narrators were great too!
- Frenemies to lovers
- Workplace romance
- She's the grump
- He falls first
- Closed door
- Family baggage
- Second in a series - but can be read as a stand alone
Big thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Annah Conwell for this early release copy. This is my honest review.

Firstly, as usual, a big thank you to Dreamscape Media and Annah Conwell for providing me an advanced listening copy of this book for an honest review.
Ellie Hart has had a rough time achieving her dream of owning a flower shop in Coastal Cove, but when her best friend gets her an interview with Miles Day, the youngest golfer ever to win the Masters, she almost says no. After all, Ellie believes “golf is for rich, pretentious jerks who need something to do while they gossip,” but there’s a six-figure salary to the position, which makes it very hard to give up. Ellie accepts the job as an assistant and provides one condition: she cannot fall in love with Miles. However, the more time Ellie spends with Miles, the more she notices his gorgeous bright green eyes, his charming smile, and how hard it becomes to resist him, but she has her dream to achieve and cannot risk it by falling in love with Miles.
This was such a cutesy, sweet book. The characters are likable, and the romance is very adorable. Though I found it a little hard to believe a professional golfer who’s won the Masters would hire an assistant who does not like golf or know much about golf, it seems her work was more based on his personal life and less on his professional life.
This book is also a stand-alone book, but characters from the previous book showed up and helped me gain an interest in reading it (although I’m not 100% sure I will; I tend to be into spicier books).
Sybil Johnson and Dillion Sickels provided amazing narration. They made it very easy to listen to and engaged very well with the story. The narrators’ voices seemed very age-appropriate for their respective characters. They also did well using variation and tone to imply different character voices. Sybil Johnson and Dillion Sickels really brought the story to life.

I did enjoy this book, but with that being said, I do feel like we needed more about the actual relationship between the two characters. I feel like they just jumped from friends to being engaged very quickly. I would’ve liked to seen more of that development. Otherwise this was a great cute clean read

This was a really quick and fun read (or I guess listen in my case haha)! The narrators did a fantastic job, and I will stop listening to audiobooks if the narrators annoy me- now on to the story details! I really liked both the FMC and the MMC, I thought they were incredibly cute together. For those that are looking for a romance/rom-com without explicit sex scenes- this book is perfect! I will definitely go back and read the first book in this series now (though they are stand alones!). I loved the friendships in this book and that the author included some good content highlighting friendships for both characters, while not overdoing it since they were not the ficus of the story. I only knocked off a star because it’s missing that “wow” factor for me. I enjoyed it, the book was fun, I would and will definitely recommend it- but it’s not special to me the way some books are.

Thank you to Annah Conwell, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to a free eaudio ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a good, average sports romance. I've actually been procrastinating this review for days because I don't have much to say about it and feel bad for leaving a lame review.
I guess I had a hard time believing someone who hated golf would get hired on as a golfer's assistant, though the book tried to explain it away. Otherwise it was an amusing and entertaining listen with likeable characters.

3.5 stars
Miles is a young pro golfer and Ellie is his assistant. They like each other right away, but should they approach this possible relationship when she works for him?
Go into this expecting a classic sports romance trope. Realistically, I don’t think Miles would have hired Ellie, simply based on the fact that she knows nothing about the game of golf and doesn’t care for it. That’s probably a pretty important part of the job.
The book also felt a bit young for me. The characters are young 20’s, so I’m sure that’s why. I just get a little annoyed when the male and female talk to everyone about the other person, but don’t just talk to the other person.
The narrators were great for the roles. I’m glad there was a male and female. I never enjoy the books where the female voices both parts.
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley for this audiobook ARC.
This is book 2 in the More than a Game series. I hadn't read the first book in this series but this is a standalone and can be read without reading the first one. You do get to meet the couple from the first book.
This story follows Ellie , an aspiring florist who dreams of opening her own flower shop, and Miles Day , the youngest golfer to win the Masters .
Set in a seaside small town, there is a massive expensive country club , which is why Ellie hates golf. As she feels only rich snobs plays golf and have memberships to the country club.
Miles Day is looking for a new assistant, after a string of bad luck of hiring assistants who are trying to seduce him or sells stories about him to the press.
Ellie is in need of a better paying job to save for her flower shop , she starts working for Miles Day. Soon it becomes clear to both of them, that there is more than just a working relationship between them.
I enjoyed this book, and since my partner is also a golf it was very educational and inspired me to go play some golf with him.

I really enjoyed listening to this book, I didn’t realise it was the second in the series when I started so I will definitely have to go and find the first. I’ve not read a book about golf before so it was a different read for me. I loved getting to know each of the characters and I really liked both the mcs. Definitely recommend if you like a closed door cheesy romcom, but I mean that in the best way.

A sweet small coastal town romance with ample angst and lots of laughs! We met Miles in the first book and I was so hoping that he would get his story told next and my wish came true! You absolutely don't have to read the first book to enjoy this one, but you will get a bit of backstory and insight into personalities and relationships, not to mention more hours of entertainment if you do read the books in order. Being a series addict, I absolutely have to read them in order and am so glad that I did. The author weaves such realistic characters with personalities and quirks that make you absolutely connect with them. There are interconnected relationships that I can't wait to read more about in the future! This story really emphasizes working hard to achieve your dreams which really resonates with me after having done the same in my life. I have to say that I absolutely love the narrators of this book as they really do a phenomenal job of bringing not only the characters to life, but the entire story. I absolutely can't wait for the next book in the series to be written and recorded!

I’m not usually a sports romance type person, but this was really a cute book! I loved the spunk and attitude of Ellie. The banter between Ellie and Miles was so fun! If you like outspoken characters you’ll love Ellie.
Mike was a confident, aka cocky golfer, but he had a heart or gold. I loved the relationship he had with his friends and his determination not to repeat his parents mistakes.
Even though this was kind of insta love I enjoyed every minute! I listened to the audiobook and the two narrators were amazing. They really added to the story with their voices and inflection.
This was the first book I read in this series. I didn’t have any problem understanding what was going on. It can totally be read as a standalone. If you love witty banter and sweet romance I highly recommend this book!

The Perfect Putt is a sweet small-town sports romance with no spice, and lots of drama! Picture the flavor of a Sarah Adams romance (a la The Cheat Sheet), geared a little closer to a younger (or more innocent) reader audience.
Ellie Heart takes a job as the assistant to a professional golfer in order to accelerate her savings to open up her own florist business one day. She hates golf, but that doesn't seem to be a problem for Miles, who has had terrible luck keeping an assistant for long. They always get obsessed with him, and the last thing he wants is to have a serious relationship that might lead to marriage. His parents ugly divorce was enough to solidify that decision for him. But as he and Ellie get to know one another, it feels different.
This novel felt very much like a high school drama. The characters are older, but they acted quite innocently. The emotions were elevated to the point almost of exaggeration, and were certainly accelerated, making this very much insta-love territory. It wasn't necessarily the short time component that made it feel fast, but the lack of context for the depth of feeling they were both experiencing. Some of it did feel a little silly, but it also has a certain kind of charm.
The fact that Ellie & Miles were technically employer/employee didn't seem to add any boundary to the romance. I don't remember it being mentioned at all as a hurdle to overcome between them, which seemed a little strange.
Overall though, The Perfect Putt felt very uplifting and positive.
Miles, in particular, has a very strong friend group. He is distant from his broken family, so it's great that he has that support system behind him. He likes to be friends with everyone who surrounds him, which is how he starts to let Ellie in.
Ellie is just trying to stay focused on her dream of opening her own little shop in her favorite place: Coastal Cove, an idyllic small-town setting. Her widowed sister Naomi lives there with her young son and Ellie is sticking around to help her. I would expect one of the next novels in the series to center around Naomi!
The narration was done very well. Both voice actors did a great job with the material and gave life to the characters.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for sending the audiobook arc in exchange for my honest review of this title.

Light hearted and cute. A. Clean golf romance with lots of banter and build in the relationship. It's even better that the main character doesn't like golf 😆
The audio book was well narrated which helped give the story life.
I received a free audio book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars A cute, insta-love, closed door romance but…kind of unforgettable?! Ellie is in need of a solid, successful job so she can get the funds to start her own floral business. She is hired by Miked, a professional golfer to be assistant his assurance. Ellie knows nothing of golf and Miles refuses to become attached to another assistant. The banter is okay, the chemistry just a wee bit lacking. I enjoyed the narrator more than the female, as she had uptilt to every sentence. It was still an overall a cute story and my first sports romance featuring golf.

Good, quick, easy, light-hearted read. Miles, golf pro, hires Ellie as his assistant. Ellie keeps Miles in check while he prepares for upcoming pro match. Miles who is love-adverse can't help but fall in love with Ellie, affectionately nicknaming her "Red". Banter is cute.

I am always looking for new closed door sport romances and was so happy to find one featuring golf! However I still wanted a little more.
Golf is for rich, pretentious jerks who need something to do while they gossip.
That’s always been my opinion. So when my best friend lands me an interview with Miles Day–the youngest golfer to ever win the Masters–I almost say no. But the six-figure salary attached to the position is too good to pass up.
Miles gives me the job as his assistant, with one caveat–don’t fall in love with him. Easy. So easy that I laugh in his face when he so much as suggests the possibility. Except… the more time I spend with Miles, the harder it is to resist his charming smile and glittering green eyes.
Catching feelings for him isn’t an option though, because I have goals to reach, and he has an aversion to commitment. Falling in love would be a mistake, one neither of us are willing to make.
I loved loved loved Mile’s character. I’ve was so sweet but really funny and I would definitely crush on him in real life. But Ellie’s character was downright annoying. She had this stick up her a** about golfers for no apparent reason and was downright rude and extremely entitled when first meeting miles. Even if I didn’t like athletes I would never have the nerve to treat my new boss like she did. It made me not really want to root for their romance which you absolutely should in this type of book. I cringed everytime he used the nickname Red…..really??? How original *insert eye roll*. I also was put off by how hard the author was trying to set up the next book. The side characters story was really spontaneous and kept popping up at odd times.
Overall it was fine. I liked the gold aspect to nobody’s surprise and I did enjoy the audio portion thanks to the narrators.
