Book 2 in the More Than a Game series.
Oof. If you had given this to me to read without telling me the author or series (and omitted the references to the characters from book 1), I'd never guess this was the second book in this series. It was boring, flat, dull. There was zero chemistry. Even the interaction with the other athletes via their video game was duller than in book one. <spoiler> And don't get me started on being strangers to engaged in like 3 months. </spoiler>
This is a fairly short book and it took me days to get through. I was even listening at 1.75 speed to get it over with. I should have been able to finish this in a single afternoon.
The audiobook is narrated by Sybil Johnson and Dillon Sickels. No complaints about that.
I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

Five Sports Romance Stars
I've never read a golf sports romance before and I LOVED it! I'm coming into the More Than A Game Series a little late on book 2 so I'm going to go back and read book 1. I'm also going to impatiently wait for books 3 and 4 also!
Ellie HATES golf...well she hates golfers and by extension doesn't care about golf. That is not going to change even though she hopes to be the personal assistant to Miles who is a pro golfer. She's doing this for the money so she can start her flower shop, that's it.
Of course Ellie and Miles are adorable together. Him with his "I'm never getting married." and her with her "I hate golfers.". Miles' dad and mom...YIKES! Freaking YIKES. They're so horrible. No wonder Miles feels like he does! Ellie's reasons are a bit more shallow but, honestly, still valid. I really enjoyed their story and I know I will appreciate the friends popping up in this story once I read all of theirs too. I already love them.
Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and the author for the opportunity to listen to and review this story. I highly recommend it!

Falls for the boss, golf romance.
When Ellie Hart graduated from college her dream was to open a flower shop, however life had a different plan for her. She picks up everything to move and help her recently widowed sister with her new son. She gets a job at the local coffee shop but she is just not good at her job. When she is offered the chance to be the person assistant for Miles Day she jumps at the chance. She will be making enough money to hopefully open her flower shop. The only problem Miles is a golfer, and she hates golf!
Miles is not interested in any kind of relationship and especially getting married. All he needs is an assistant that will not hit one him or sell pictures of him to the tabloids. When he interviews Ellie he likes her sassy attitude and is interested in a challenge, so he hires her. Even when he hears her ranting about how golf is not a sport and how much she hates it he still wants her to work for him. Of course, he gives her the speech about how he is not interested in any type of relationship with her other than a working one. If only he can follow his own rules, when he likes everything about her.
The was a cute romance. Very slow burn. I thought the author did a great job handling Miles past emotional trauma. The banter between these two was so good. I liked the golf aspect; I am a fan of hockey and baseball books, and this was my first read in the golf world. This author does a great job adding aspects of the sport into the book. I love the addition of the side characters and cannot wait to read the next books.
The audiobook is narrated in dual point of view by Sybil Johnson and Dillon Sickels. The pace was good, and I was able to tell when there was a character change. The chapters were easily identifiable. The narrators' voices fit the characters perfectly.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape media for this audio. This is my very honest review.

Miles and Ellie's love story was super cute. I love a good sports romance but haven't read many golf ones so this one was a pleasant change. Light and sweet with likeable characters, this was the exact kind of book I needed after all the darker thrillers I had read. It was easy to listen to on audio with the narration flowing seamlessly. I can't wait to read more by this author.

Sports romance, dual pov, she hates golf, he’s closed off to relationships, small town, workplace romance, grumpy x sunshine, interconnected series, complex family dynamics
I actually read this book at the beginning of the month, but when I saw it was available on audio I immediately requested it! I loved Miles and Ellie’s story, so I wanted to experience it again!
I love Ellie and Miles and their character development. I liked that Miles was scared of commitment and so closed off to it, but immediately knew that if he wasn’t he would 100% pursue Ellie. I feel like having that established early helped him realized that he’s not doomed to repeat the mistakes of his parents. And Ellie opening up to maybe not love golf but to appreciate the sport was just as important. It meant that she would completely support him and that she would be there for him.
Now that I’ve read and listened to the audio, I can confirm Annah’s stories are amazing either way! I am drawn into the story in both mediums, her characters translate well, and her writing is just beautiful.
Also, this costal town is so adorable and I want to move there asap!
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an early listen of this book. All thoughts are my own, I do not accept money for reviews

The Perfect Putt is a cute, non spicy rom come. Anna Connell is a new to me author, and I've already chosen another book of hers to read/listen to next. I loved The Perfect Putt, and was thrilled to see there are other books in the series. It's an interconnected standalone series based around four men in four different sports.
Ellie has a dream to open a flower shop, and in order to do that, she needs to find a better paying job. Reluctantly, she interviews to be an assistant to the famous golfer, Miles Day. She lands the job, and is told by Miles, that's there's one "rule"...not to fall in love with him.
Publication date is Aug 27 2024.

4⭐
Sweet, not spicy 🧁
This was a really cute, cozy romance. Miles and Ellie are both likable main characters. The pacing is on point, the story flows well and stays engaging throughout. It's refreshing to read a sports romance that's not hockey or baseball. I don't know anything about golf at all and there was just enough golf content to pique my interest in the sport without getting too confused because I couldn't tell you the difference between the clubs or putters or whatever 😂🙈.
Thank you, NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review 💕

I absolutely loved this sports romance! The forbidden love between the characters was so electrifying that I couldn’t put the book down. I was completely absorbed, often smiling and deeply feeling their journey.
The chemistry between the protagonists was incredible. When the male lead hires the female character as his assistant, their dynamic is both captivating and heartwarming. Their interactions are filled with genuine tension and affection, making every scene a joy to read.
Though it’s a straightforward romance, it’s crafted with such skill and care. This book is perfect for anyone who enjoys a heartfelt love story with a sports backdrop.

Cute closed door romance.
Loved the audio, super easy listen. The characters had maybe a bit of insta infatuation, but it wasn't distracting. Miles was just swoon worthy enough. Love that more golf romance books are coming out, I know nothing about the sport, but this book is super cute.
Thank you to netgalley for the alc in exchange for an honest review.

We follow Miles and Ellie in this book. Ellie thinks golf is for the rich, pretentious jerks who need something to do while they gossip. She is not a fan! But the six-figure salary attached to the assistant to Miles, the youngest golfer to ever win the masters - she can't so no. Miles gives Ellie the job - with one rule, she can't fall in love with him. Easier said than done right?
Our girl Ellie is SASSY and the grump in the book! You really see her go through a lot of different emotions from not liking golf, being grumpy with Miles and just overall frustrations to some really sweet moments with Miles. Their banter was hilarious to me.
I loved seeing Miles stand up to his parents too in this. You can break those generational curses!
I like that Annah did this as a golf romance because you don't see that a lot out there! :)
Overall, Annah's writing is top tier and the more I read, the more I see that! Excited for book 3 in this series.
Thank you to the publisher for a copy of the audiobook to listen to and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the narrators and how they brought Miles and Ellie to life. They had me laughing out loud and kicking my feet. The banter was so good, too! I’ve read a few of Annah’s books and this one is definitely my favorite!
A huge Thank You to Dreamscape Media for the Advanced Audio. All opinions expressed above are my own.

Sybil Johnson and Dillon Sickels were great choices for Ellie and Miles. The voice actors complement each other well and made the story easy and fun to follow along. Though at times, I wished there was more distinction between characters when multiple people were speaking in one scene.
The premise is fun, but the execution fell flat for me. The main characters’ feelings seem to do a quick 180 after their first meeting. It was a fairly quick transition to their instant attraction to each other. Some tension and chemistry was present throughout the book, but the build up was lacking. Ellie and Miles went through this push and pull situation for most of the book and then the conflict was resolved very quickly towards the end, making it seem rushed.
Overall, I thought it was great on audio, as the narrators really added to the story. Perfect for those looking for a short and fun audiobook with some instalove.
Thank you Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for an advance listening copy!

She absolutely hates gold as a sport and her new boss is a golf player. This was enough to attract my attention and damn this was so amazing 😍 cute 🥰 and adorable 🤭 the characters were so well written and executed too. The plotline was interesting from the starting till the end ❤️🤌💯
Plus the supporting characters were also amazing too 😍

Ellie is desperate to open her dream flower shop. In order to do that, though, she needs to find a better paying job. Then she interviews to be golfer, Miles Day, and gets the high paying job. And falls in love. And in the end? You realize that opposites still attract.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the arc of The Perfect Putt by Annah Conwell.
This was my first golf romance and it was great. The chemistry between the two MCs was sizzling. I loved the golden retriever personality of Miles and how he showed his love through acts of service. I am usually not a fan of a closed-door romance but the plot was so great that I didn’t miss anything. I also enjoyed the found family aspect of the whole friend group.

so so cute again!! a bit insta-lovey, which i’m not a massive fan of (why is the whole thing like, a couple weeks and they’re in love territory?? nope nope nope)
also idk i really didn’t like the “red” nickname like that’s not even creative and she said she hated it at first so if it were me i would be more pissed than awww
also again all the familial drama was just *there* & barely explored so it’s like, i would call this a cute romance and nothing more

4.5 Stars!!
I’m loving these super cute Golf Romances!!
Ellie is struggling to make ends meet when she’s presented with an opportunity to make a lot more money as an assistant to Golf Pro Miles. His only requirement is Ellie can’t develop romantic feelings for him! Easy peasy for her - she hates golf and rich guys! But what happens when he starts to fall for her?
I love this series and loved being back with all the guys again! Watching Miles take care of Ellie and fall first was my favorite part! I love he stood up to his dysfunctional parents and let himself find happiness!
Romance content: Just Kissing!

This sweet romance story is as cute as the cover! I loved Miles and Ellie’s story. I’m a fan of spice in my books, but the plot was so great with this that I didn’t even miss it.

I enjoyed the sports romance part of this novel and The main male character, Miles, was likable and relatable. However, I disliked the female main character, Ellie, she felt very needy and entitled to me. So I struggled to get into this novel even though it was an audiobook. I also felt like 270 pages is really short for a romance to develop characters, play out the love story and do a good job with the "conflict" that the characters will get over.
Thank you Dreamscape Media & Netgalley for the advance listening copy

I’m loving this “More than a Game” series! Sports romances are my last obsession and glad we are branching out and getting a variety of sports.
Ellie and Miles were adorable together! The flirting and banter, terrific! I was so happy to see more from Sutton and Shaw and the rest of the guys.
I’m so happy this was dual narration. It just adds a little something extra special to the production. The audio was great and I had no trouble listening clearly at an accelerated speed.
Looking forward to more from Annah.
