This book is the second in a series about the Stone brothers moving to Alaska to handle their grandmother’s business before she passes and this one was just as good as the first!

This story is about Caleb (the middle brother) who is a bit of a disgraced actor, having been made the villain of a reality dating show, and Sophia, a single mom passionate about photography.

In typical romance genre fashion, they both have jobs that they love and end up getting the forced proximity treatment, leading them to get to know each other better.

There is minimal conflict, lots of yearning, and sweet moments with Lily, Sophia’s four year old daughter.

One thing I will mention is that the author mentions an Indigenous character but Indigenous isn’t capitalized, which is not a huge offense though I find worth noting.

I really love Calhoune’s work because I find the Black love and joy to be much needed in the romance genre. Her characters are proudly Black and are their beauty and Blackness is always front and centre. In a historically very white genre, I just love to support BIPOC authors and read diversely!

I am also a huge snow lover, so having the story take place in a beautiful small town in Alaska also gives such a good aesthetic, in my opinion. Snow/winter activities for the win.

Overall, I love this series and am super looking forward to the next one- which I assume is about the third brother, Landon, who is a scientist and the nerd of the bunch. The characters and their development are amazing, and the communication is always wonderful. So mature! Definitely check out these books if you enjoy romance and feel good stories!

We are back in Moose Falls, Alaska with author Belle Calhoune’s newest, Flirting With Alaska.
It’s been a few months since the three Stone brothers have been back to work at their grandmother’s Yukon Cider for a year, time to decide if they will take it over as a team, or walk away.
Caleb Stone still has big dreams of Hollywood, but is still nursing a disastrous run on a reality tv program. Branded a rat, he wishes people would see the real man beneath the edited one the world saw.
Single mom and photographer Sophia Brand has been hired to shoot Xavier Stone’s engagement party. She didn’t plan on finding some chemistry with Caleb Stone, the rat she watched on tv. She can’t possibly turn her eye towards someone like that!
But due to Caleb’s formidable grandmother, now she and Caleb have to work closely together. Is it possible her tv-bred assumptions are wrong? They both have some baggage, but with the Lord’s help (and Hattie’s), can they come together not just for the job, but for forever?
I was hooked from the start and read this in one day! This is a “grab a cocoa, a cozy throw, and settle in for the duration” kind of read. Plus it has my favorite, an epilogue!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

You have to love, all things, Moose Falls. I know I do.

Belle Calhoune captured our hearts with the first book in the series, Falling for Alaska, and she does not disappoint with book two, Flirting With Alaska.

It’s a Triple S kind of read: small town, slow burn, and swoon.

I am here for it all.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is book 2 in a series but can also be read as a stand alone.

I am loving the progression of this family story that Belle Calhoune has created. Alaska was home to 3 brothers before their parents divorce moved them to USA with no warning. Now their grandmother is dying and they have moved back for 1 year to determine what they will do with her business and legacy. Could not put this one down and can't wait for the 3rd brothers story!

Flirting with Alaska by Belle Calhoune is the second book in the Moose Falls, Alaska series. It continues where the first book left off, but I feel it could be read as a standalone. Caleb Stone is still recovering from his disastrous appearance on a reality show. He feels he will never work again and his player status will live in infamy. Sophia Brand is a single mom trying hard to make a better life for her daughter, Lily. She is not really impressed with Caleb when they meet, but wonders if she has it all wrong.

I am so invested in this series. It was fantastic to get to know Caleb and revisit the other Stone brothers. Caleb and Sophia had good chemistry, a sweet friendship, and I enjoyed how they both matured in the story. The setting is fascinating and me considering travel to Alaska. I love the strong independent female characters who believe in loving their families well. I appreciate the themes of forgiveness, second chances and family.

This is a delightful clean romance with interesting characters, sweet romance, and a fascinating setting. I look forward to the next book in the series. I highly recommend.

I was given a copy by the publisher and not required to write a positive review.

This was such a heartwarming and sweet read. The storyline and characters were well-written and made you feel like you knew them. The story had a meddling Grandma Hattie and I loved her. Caleb and Sophia are adorable together and had sweet moments. I enjoyed every moment of this book especially the wonderfully romantic ending. It made my heart happy. A great addition to this series.

This was a cute followup story, the writing was a bit basic at times but overall an enjoyable story.

I am thoroughly enjoying the Stone brothers, each different but equally compelling. When I began this second book in the trilogy, I fully expected gorgeous, charming, middle brother Caleb to be my least favorite of the three but this hero has layers I had yet to discover. Much like Sophia does throughout the course of their journey.

Sophia and Caleb both carry emotional baggage from past relationships that continue to intrude on their present lives. In Sophia's case, it's the father of her daughter who suddenly decides he wants to be a part of his child's life after ignoring her since birth while for Caleb it's not only the unresolved issues with his estranged father that have significantly impacted his life choices but also a highly edited reality television show that painted him in the worst possible light, a light that Sophia, along with most of the country, believes is true. I enjoyed watching the layers slowly peel away and reveal truths about both of them. I especially enjoyed watching the endearing relationship between Caleb and Sophia's young daughter evolve. Nothing tests the true measure of a man, nor exposes his flaws, like babysitting an active four-year-old. In young Lily's eyes, Caleb is more than worthy but what will Sophia think?

If you enjoy sweet romance set in small-town Alaska with complicated family dynamics, a close-knit community, well-developed characters, and an elderly grandmother set on bringing her grandsons home and seeing them happily settled, give Flirting with Alaska a try. It will stand on its own but I think you'll enjoy it even more if you read Falling for Alaska first.

ARC received from Forever. Fair and unbiased review.

I said in my review of the first Moose Falls, Alaska book that I wanted to live right there in the cover… and I meant it. Until I saw the cover of Flirting With Alaska …there. Right there. I could be happy there forever and ever amen. In fact, I’m just gonna go ahead and start that way; could someone please ship my books? If you need me, I’ll be chatting with Hattie – the matriarch of Moose Falls and the family’s hard cider company. She’s such a spitfire and a delight to be around and, like I said in my last review, even though I know she’s going to break my heart unless a miracle intervenes I’m soaking up all the time I can with this fabulous character.

All wishful thinking aside, we are indeed back for another visit to Moose Falls, Alaska, and the charming Stone brothers. Each brother is distinctive from the others – Xavier (the hero of book one) is the athlete, Caleb has Hollywood aspirations, and Landon’s definitely on the nerdy side. In Flirting With Alaska, we get to hang out with all three brothers once more though this time the focus is on middle brother Caleb. I loved how the author frames the complex layers to his character, particularly when it comes to his reputation (and how he came to have it) versus who he truly is. His is a cautionary tale on the falseness of reality TV, of people who care more about their own advancement than about your feelings. I enjoyed digging deeper into his heart as well as watching him interact with Sophia & her daughter Lily (which is where we really get to see his authentic self). Even their ‘meet cute’ felt symbolic of this paradox to me and, whether the author intended it to be or not, I appreciated the connection I made in my mind.

And Sophia…. she is such an engaging character in her own right, and Calhoune gives her some wonderful layers, too, for readers to unpack. Photographer. Entrepreneur. Mom. Sister. Daughter. Friend. Woman in Love. She is all these things and more, and her daughter Lily is on her way to being a carbon copy. These two strong-and-tender females quickly had my heart – long before Caleb officially claimed a place there. The relationship progression between Sophia and Caleb would fit perfectly in a Hallmark movie, including the yummy kisses they share! It’s sweet and respectful and flirty, and they both grow as individuals as a result of the ways they challenge each other’s weaknesses and insecurities. Which is always rewarding for me as a reader.

Bottom Line: Get ready to steel yourself against Caleb Stone’s charms because this flirty hunk is ushering spring into Moose Falls! Except you won’t want to resist him once you really get to know his heart in Flirting With Alaska, and that’s in large part due to the compelling layers that Belle Calhoune created for him. Sophia Brand equally delights, as does her precocious daughter Lily and the other members of her family that we get to know on these pages as well. Combined with the vibrant personalities of the Stones, too, and Moose Falls itself, this ensemble cast delivers an entertaining story from beginning to end! Looking forward to Landon’s story, and I don’t think we can count out Red & Daisy just yet either.

Flirting with Alaska is the 2nd book in the Moose Falls series by Belle Calhoune. Overall I found this to be a good read, but not a great one. I still would recommend this book to others, because I realize not everyone enjoys the same books.

I received and ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

This is my first read from the author and I thought it was a good story.

I liked the characters and the chemistry between Caleb and Sophia. I really thought Caleb was the celebrity playboy that his public persona shows the world, and so did Sophia. But he really turns it around.

While the romance was nice, I felt the star of the book is Hattie, Caleb's grandma and matriarch of their family. She's running the family business and not so secretly trying to matchmake her grandsons while fighting an illness that is unfortunately terminal. But that doesn't slow Hattie down. She's a got so much energy, fierce courage that I greatly admire, and the love of her family, her employees, and her town.

While this story is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone. The story is well written and the author is obviously talented, but the storyline--apart from Hattie--wasn't memorable to me. This in no way will stop me from reading the author in the future, I just don't think this book is for me.

I feel like this book had such good potential but just let me down in the end. I wasn’t really wowed by it. I did love Hattie as a character though. She is a spitfire and definitely one of the best characters in the book. I also felt like some of the relationships between the characters were just off and kind of left me feeling weird.

Author Belle Calhoune brings us back to Moose Falls, Alaska in the second book of her charming series, Falling for Alaska. In this book, we get to dive into the life of the middle brother Caleb, a reformed bad boy who unexpectedly falls for a local single mom in this small town romance.

When a reality show destroys his reputation and puts his Hollywood dreams on hold, Caleb finds himself needing to take some time to get things together and what better place for that to be than Moose Falls, Alaska. Between the beautiful scenery and his family business there, this being the perfect place to get out the spotlight, clear his head, it will allow him the chance to take a break and help with the business.

Being the charmer he is, his charm seems too irresistible to all the ladies there except one, a single mom who was all familiar with the type of guy he is. After watching the reality show debacle that involved him, and all the gossip surrounding him, he was the last person she’d have interest in. She’s had enough of his type and was not going to be swayed by his charm.

As they are brought together by a project at his family’s business and find themselves working closely together, she sees another side that softens her criticism of him. As time goes on, they both find themselves open to the possibilities and when your guard comes down, between the beautiful setting and their heartfelt connection, this Hollywood star might just have found his leading lady.

I love this series. There’s so much to love about the characters but in reference to this book, Caleb’s journey from being a punchline to someone adored and respected, his relationship with Sophia and how that evolved and changed him dating a single mother was such a wonderful read. Sophia is someone that will be relatable to those single moms out there who struggle with balancing being a mom and finding love, she is someone to be admired. These two characters with their own struggles who when they let their guards down became vulnerable, allowed them to grow which made them characters that you were not going to accept less than to be together. It was definitely a slow burn but one worth it.

Of course we see familiar faces returning as integral parts to their storylines. I just love the familial community and warmth they bring to the book. The beautiful setting and the small town vibes bring an authenticity that places you in the heart of Alaska. Flirting With Alaska, with its heartwarming story of second chances, redemption and unexpected love will be perfect for those who love romance.

I enjoyed my second trip to Moose Falls and getting to know Caleb, the middle Stone brother. Flirting with Alaska by Belle Calhoune has wonderful characters and lots of detail in the settings. It's easy to picture yourself in the scenes. Caleb and Sophia have baggage from their past (who doesn't) and generally seem to feel like they are not enough when the book begins. I loved seeing their growth of individuals and as a couple. Sophia's daughter is adorable too!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own. Although this is the second book in the Moose Falls series, I don't think it's essential to read book 1 first. I do recommend both books. I'm looking forward to reading London's story next.

After a reality TV scandal, Caleb returns to his Alaskan hometown to work at his family’s cider company. There, he meets Sophia, a photographer immune to his charms. As they collaborate on an ad campaign, Caleb must prove he’s more than just a playboy to win Sophia’s heart.

This charming, family-oriented, small-town romance is a joy to read. It’s heartfelt and well-paced with likable characters. I love single-parent romance, and the way Caleb embraced Sophia’s daughter won my heart.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I really enjoyed this book along with this series. The brothers are all given this opportunity to take over the "family" business, but I feel like its so much more than that in this series. I feel like Hattie has set out to teach the boys about finding their true selfs. I feel like that was very much the case with this book with Caleb, he was in Hollywood and lost himself but was so set to go back. Sophia was a fun read the relationship she has with her dad and sister is so close and so fun, they truly are the definition of family. I think the one thing I can say is I felt like Caleb was so hung up on himself he forget on occasions those around him early in the book however you can see as he makes choices with Sophia he lets the walls down and starts really working on who he is. Overall this was fun read and I can wait for more from this family. Also the author has kept this book a clean read so suitable for all.

I really enjoyed the buildup of this story where the Stone brothers find themselves back in Alaska because of the inheritance of their grandmother's company that she worked hard for. The character buildup was great where it uncovered the depths of both Caleb and Sophia individually and explored how their traumas may have brought them together. I feel like the ending was a bit flat but I guess it also makes sense when looking at what the relationship of the main characters were like. This was really cute and heartwarming and really set the scene for what it's like in Alaska with the nature aspects and the small town vibes.

Thank you for providing me with an opportunity to read this book!

I'm enjoying this series a lot! I wasn't sure I would like Caleb because of his ego issues. He's an actor with confidence in droves but after a disastrous reality TV experience he comes to Alaska to help his brothers in the family business. He's very good looking, of course, and never has a problem with the ladies. That is, until he sets his sights on Sophie! She's immune to his charms! I loved seeing how Caleb was able to "get real" with himself and with Sophie. He also was able to have a real conversation with his father finally. His grandmother, Hattie, is so great. I love that even though she has health issues, she is still one of the strongest women in town! It was nice to see that with the right circumstances, a person can be genuine and not have to "play a part". This is what happened to Caleb. He found happiness by just being himself!
