An interesting approach to storytelling here with enough diverse characters that most readers will find themselves connecting to one or more kids. Largely a character-driven story, the chapters almost read like short stories about each of the main characters. The mystery underlies the whole story, but readers can very easily relax inside someone's head for a chapter while the mystery unfolds.

Recommended for readers grades 4-6, this book will appeal to fans of realistic fiction, adventure/survival stories full of action, and readers who really like to crawl into a character's head.
