This book was so wacky and fun! I loved the town and the characters and all the quirky traditions. Holiday books never fail me, and this one was no exception!

This was cute, I don’t know if I would put this in my top Quinn reads, but it was a cute holiday fling.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author Meghan Quinn and the publishers for letting me read this advanced copy along with letting me review it. This is a four star holiday romance that comes out October 15th 2024. This is an enemies to lovers romance that has two enemies Every Kringle who loves the holiday spirit celebrating christmas but not her neighbor Cole Black who isn't in the christmas celebration festitivites. Its cute and humerous along with being a cozy love story

I devoured this book, I loved it so much I literally bought every copy when it came out!

Everyone is a critic, and sure the book finally gets to that “misunderstanding” trope near the end/climax; but getting there was a lot of fun and it deserves slightly more than 4 stars average. For pure entertainment I’d give it a 5/5, and for character development I’d give it a 4/5. But plot development was more of a 3.2/5 for misleading us to the surprise ending and exactly why our characters were in the position they were in for the story.

I liked how the book was long and detailed for most of it, without feeling like it was passing by too fast, but then it felt rushed at the end. The misunderstanding /crash resolves a little too quickly once it comes up near the end of the book. And It almost betrayed the excellent character development of the main characters.

This was because unfortunately there were a couple of main characters whom we didn’t get to know nearly as well as we needed to, in order to understand why they did what they did near then end. Once the climax’s hurdle is overcome, then the book seems to rush towards the end too quickly. This meant there were events and situations that we expected to still enjoy in detail, but were skipped over only to be described in the short epilogue.

There was also a major plot theme that was glossed over and not made clear how someone was able to fool the whole town with a stunt that was only meant to trick two people (or how the whole town could have been in on it and played the part so well). This and the short ending is where the book lost stars, and I can see where some would dock it more stars. We want to experience how things end in detail, and not be told in a short epilogue how two important days (or year) in the timeline ended.

It does get very spicey (Wowza!) and it’s full of moments where you’ll laugh, cry, get hard and/or wet LOL. So, despite its flaws it’s very enjoyable, but it leaves you wanting more, either in a more detailed ending or a second book.

It had its moments but clearly, I got bored towards the end because it took me forever to finish reading. If you love Christmas, you will love this. Otherwise, maybe just a little too drawn out for the average romance reader.

I received this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

This was a fun silly rom com for some holiday spirit. It did feel like it was trying a little too hard in parts where it was already good, but if you can look beyond that it's some good holiday smut.

How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn is the perfect holiday rom-com to curl up with on a cozy evening. Quinn’s writing is witty, fun, and full of charm, and she effortlessly captures the spirit of Christmas with a generous dose of humor and romance. The story features delightful, well-rounded characters, and the chemistry between the two leads is electric, making their journey toward love an enjoyable ride from start to finish.

While the plot is predictable at times, with the usual rom-com tropes making an appearance, Quinn’s clever dialogue and sweet, festive atmosphere more than make up for it. The story is heartwarming and fun, with just the right amount of holiday magic to make you feel the season’s cheer. It’s light, entertaining, and leaves you with a smile on your face.

Overall, How My Neighbor Stole Christmas is a heartwarming, feel-good holiday romance that’s perfect for fans of the genre. It’s a feel-good read that will put you in the Christmas spirit and remind you of the joy of the season.

It was a solid cozy read with a beautiful cover. A great pick if you want a quick holiday romance to read on a snowy day. While though it's a bit formulaic, still something I would be grateful if gifted.

How my Neighbour Stole Christmas is a seasonal spicy grumpy/sunshine romance by Meaghan Quinn.

Storee Taylor has returned to Kringletown after 10 years away. Aunt Cindy needs help after hip surgery and Storee is forced to face the humiliating circumstances in which she left many years ago.

Cole Black is the grumpy town golden boy. After his parents were killed 10 years ago, the town rallied together to keep him cared for. His best friend Atlas and his family had taken him in as one of their own.

Now that Storee is back, she can’t shake the tension between Cole and her. They were friends ten years ago but something clearly changed with his attitude towards her. When the opportunity to face off against each other in the towns annual Kringle contest, neither can resist!

As the competition heats up, so does their chemistry and soon they are trading in their competitive spirit for heat and spice in the bedroom.

I liked this book but didn’t love it. I enjoy this author and this wasn’t my favourite. I liked the twist on the grinch and the poems at the beginning of each chapter, I just feel the characters weren’t fully developed. For the amount of tension nearing hatred for it to melt in one interaction felt off to me. This was a 3 star read for me. It’s a cute quick read with a good amount of spice!

This was a dnf for me. I found it a little too cheesy and really wasnt enjoying myself while reading it. I wanted to keep going because this was given to me as a free arc, but why suffer when you dont need to? I stopped reading things that I dont like when I left University. Sorry, this book was not for me.

I didn’t get to read many Christmas book’s this year, but this one wasn’t one that I was going to miss! Storee and Cole’s rivalry was *chef’s kiss*, and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. I officially need to move to a town where it’s always Christmas! All of the Christmas themed shenanigans in this book made me smile even after I put the book down. Also…pineapple candy cane? Yes, please!

Spicy: R

Storee Taylor has been away from Kringletown for many a year; the perpetual yuletide cheer that she loved as a child just rubs salt in the wounds of her adult heart. And one of those is Cole Black, her great-aunt Cindy’s handsome neighbor. The boy she had such a crush on has turned into a bit of a Grinch actually. But when Storee and her sister return to Kringletown to help Cindy after a recent fall, Storee finds herself entered into the annual Kringle contest and she is determined to bring glory to her family name and take down Cole. Highjinks ensue along with stolen kisses and secret makeout sessions.

As this is a Megan Quinn book, you know it is going to be a fun, sexy holiday romance but it is also a sweet story about families, real and found. It’s about second-chances and coming to terms with your past. Though this is heavy on the Christmas theme, you can definitely read this anytime of the year. And I ready for the rest of the inhabitants of Kringletown to fall in love (e.g., I want Max’s story next).
