This book solidified it for me, Meghan Quinn is the QUEEN of romantic comedies.
This book is the perfect holiday read - quirky, hilarious, and just the right amount of spice. It has everything you could want in a holiday romance, with the best romance tropes: childhood friends to enemies to lovers AND fake dating? Sign me up.
I devoured this book, and it put me in the ultimate Christmassy mood (yes, in September). This book will have readers everywhere running to snuggle up in front of a fireplace with a hot chocolate when it comes out.
A must-read this holiday season!

A short but cute book to kick off the winter months, I loved how it was written and definetly a new favourite!
The Grinch meets spicy Christmas?! Sign me up!
Storee hasn't visited her aunt for Christmas in 10 years since a humiliating accident happened. She can't face the town again until her aunt needs help after breaking her hip. She and her sister go to stay with her and she's immediately met with the boy she crushed on so many years ago. Instead of a warm welcome he gives her the Grinch treatment. She's not sure why but she rolls with it. They are both thrust into the town Christmas competition and are determined to demolish the other.
I loved the little narrator tid bits before the chapters, especially the ones where Cole and the Narrator are bickering. It had me cracking up! The take on the Grinch was executed so wonderfully and Meghan did great with bringing the characters of the movie to life but didn't make it feel like I was basically watching the movie also. The evolution of all the characters was so heartwarming. Storee and Cole bring out the best in each other and help them both to realize that they weren't really living due to their past traumas. This small Christmas town and its residents were so much fun and made me want to go live there. As always, the spice from Meghan is *chefs kiss*! I laughed, had some tears, and was hooked from the start! I am fully in the holiday spirit now thanks to the amazing Meghan Quinn!
Thank you Netgalley and Meghan Quinn for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!
Let's take the Grinch and whoville but make it a small town rom-com and smut it up!
Two characters enter a contest to be the town's Christmas Kringle and the shenanigans ensue - but Cole is the boy next store and Storee might be the girl who got away! Author Meghan Quinn really leaned into the Dr. Suess rhymes and characters for this one but kept true to her small town romance with extra spice. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments and tons of grumpy/sunshine banter making it a fun holiday-themed read!
- Dual POV
- Small town (Christmas Town!)
- Steamy/Smutty
- Holiday-themed
- Rivals to lovers
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the arc of How My Neighbor Stole Christmas. Release day 10.15.2024

This was so much fun and will be perfect for that holiday season rom com itch. Absolutely exquisite execution of tropes, particularly fake dating which just drags me in.
Chefs kiss. Can’t wait to read again with some hot cocoa in a few months!
This book is so good! I was pulled in from page one and just couldn't put it down. I loved everything about it, but especially the fun festive vibes and witty banter mixed together. This is a heartwarming read that will have you swooning, laughing and maybe even crying in the very best way. I highly recommend this book if you like holiday rom-coms!
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks/Bloom Books for allowing me to read this book ahead of release in exchange for my honest opinion.
How My Neighbor Stole Christmas is an absolute holiday delight! This festive enemies-to-lovers rom-com delivers everything you want in a holiday romance—laugh-out-loud banter, heartfelt moments, and just the right amount of Christmas magic.
Cole Black is the perfect holiday grump, and his Scrooge-like disdain for Christmas is hilariously contrasted by Storee Taylor, the vibrant and determined new neighbor who is determined to win the town’s Christmas Kringle contest. Their rivalry starts off as pure comedy gold, with their bickering and over-the-top antics giving all the holiday hijinks vibes. But as the story unfolds, the chemistry between them begins to sizzle, turning their fake rivalry into a swoon-worthy slow burn.
The fake relationship trope is perfectly executed here, blending competition with undeniable attraction. Storee’s mission to honor her aunt Cindy, and Cole’s reluctant involvement, add layers of warmth and heart to the story, making it more than just a rom-com. And the small-town charm of Kringletown, complete with carols and Christmas lights, will make you want to curl up with a hot chocolate and fully immerse yourself in the holiday spirit.
With witty writing, festive fun, and a swoon-worthy romance, How My Neighbor Stole Christmas is the perfect read for anyone looking to get into the holiday mood. The author delivers a charming, heartwarming love story that’s sure to make even the grumpiest of readers feel merry and bright. Five stars for this festive feel-good read!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
How My Neighbor Stole Christmas was a delightfully spicy Grinch inspired story that will have you in the festive mood.
It’s dual POVs of the main characters and there are some great tropes like forced proximity, grumpy-sunshine, enemies to lovers, and a small town holiday romance.
The overall premise was entertaining with some amusing, heartwarming and cheesy moments. All the side characters and their antics were amazing as well. This was truly just a spicier version of a Hallmark Christmas movie written as a book and all the references from the Grinch were just perfect.
The competition between the main characters was also hilarious and led to some laugh out loud moments. I just loved all their banter, tension and chemistry. While their romance was a bit slow-paced, it was still very sweet and spicy.
I will say though, the pacing of the story was quite slow and there were certainly a few subplots that could have been more developed upon. But overall, still just the perfect holiday romance book with all the humor, spice and charm.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is like a naughty version of the grinch. An enemies to lovers with spice and a whole lot of Christmas. The concept of this one- enemies competing in a Christmas contest was wonderful. I loved all the banter and funny moments.
Every chapter starts with a christmasy poem from the narrator and those really made the book. Some of them were super naughty and spicy, some were funny, and some were cute. But they def made the story unique.
One thing I do NOT agree with is them saying Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. 😂 But there were lots of references to popular Christmas movies.
The spice was pretty spicy for a Christmas novel so keep that in mind.
This was the best Meghan Quinn book I have read in a while, because her other works fell short for me recently. I still felt this one could have been about 100 pages shorter and then it would have been 5 stars for me- wonderful concept that got a little long winded at times.
Overall though, this was a really good Christmas read. One of the better ones that I have read. I def recommend this one.
Thank you to netgalley for this free advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
3.75 - The FMC, Storee, started off being too whiny for me, but she quickly grew on me. It is a great story of grief, reconnection, Christmas traditions, and, of course love.
I loved this one so much! Especially knowing how much I love grinch I knew this was gonna be so good!!! Meghan always delivers with a great rom com and it hit all the feels!!!

Who do I have to petition to have this made into a movie? "How My Neighbor Stole Christmas" had everything I want and need in a bingeable Holiday Romance, I read the entire book in a day.
This storyline is packed with loveable characters, Christmas competitions, witty banter, learning experiences, growth and laugh at loud moments. It reminded me of why I love watching the holiday Christmas movies so much.
This will definitely come highly recommend from me this Holiday season!
Thank you Meghan Quinn, Net Galley and Bloom Books for providing me with an ARC of this book!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!! Combine the Grinch with your signature Meghan Quinn rom-com and you get this masterpiece. As someone who gets the Christmas itch to start decorating in September/October, this book was an absolutely perfect read for me to help subdue the need to start putting up my Christmas tree lol.
In true Meghan Quinn fashion, this book was laugh out loud funny (I actually cackled in the car so loud that my boyfriend asked me what was so funny). I just loved the overall storyline of this book, it pulled in so many elements from the Grinch and Christmas. The little rhymes were such a fun and playful touch, and the parts where Cole was getting mouthy with the narrator always cracked me up.
While this book was a really fun read it also touches on the grief of losing parents. Although Cole initially joined the competition to try and beat Storee, you could tell he really needed that push to get out of the cloud of grief. I loved watching Storee help Cole learn how to live again and not just go through the motions of every day life. They really just complimented each other so well.
Tropes:
-Small (Christmas) Town Romance
-Enemies/Rivals/Childhood Friends to Lovers
Meghan Quinn. Need I say more? She is one of those authors that I cannot wait for their newest release. This one did not disappoint. Enemies to lovers? Yes, please. The two main characters have the best banter back and forth and I loved the faked relationship part. It made me laugh and swoon all at the same time. It was full of festive Christmas spirit and who doesn't love the Grinch? It's a great Christmas read!
How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn is a festive enemies to lovers romance full of humor and holiday spirit. Cole Black is a classic Christmas grinch, but his plans for a quiet, cheer-free season are upended when his new neighbor Storee Taylor enters his life and the town’s Christmas Kringle contest. Their rivalry sparks a playful yet heated competition, leading to hilarious antics and moments of undeniable chemistry. As they fake a holiday romance to win the contest, Cole’s icy heart begins to thaw, and their fake relationship turns into something real. I loved both the witty banter with tender moments, making Cole and Storee’s love story a perfect blend of holiday fun and heartfelt emotion!

This was a hilarious romance retelling of the grinch, and I was here for it. Storee and her sister Tarin go to visit their great aunt for Christmas, and Storee gets roped into entering the town Kringle competition. Her biggest competition will be none other than Cole, the boy she shared her adolescence Christmases with. Only now he is all man, and he is not impressed with Storee.
These two have an enemies to lovers vibe going but decide to let the town think they are dating to help the competition. When feelings get real and a candy cane gets involved, things heat up.
The competition is cackle worthy as the townspeople come together to show their Christmas spirit. There is romance and heat plus a beautiful story between family.
This was perfect! In true Megan Quinn fashion, the banter was hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing. The banter is my absolute favorite part of Quinn's writing and she did not disappoint with this sure to be next bestseller. I cannot wait to crack this open again in December!
This was a fun book even though I'm not really into holiday-themed books. The fmc goes to the Christmas town after a long time to take care of her aunt who fell and broke her hip. When she gets there the aunt persuades her to join in the Christmas competition the town has she has a rivalry with the grumpty neighbor who liked her when she was younger. They take the competition seriously and have lots of competition, hijinks, and pretense so one of them can win the competition. When they are forced to kinda fake date they get closer and have to revisit the past to see what happened in the past. There smut in this and a particular spicy scene with a candy cane was wild lol. Overall a cute and spicy holiday romance. Thank you Bloom Books for this arc.
