I love this author and she continues to not disappoint. This was a fun and quick read that was perfect for both the holiday season and to wrap-up my yearly reading challenge. I love the mix of humor and romance in Quinn’s stories and this one did not disappoint.

I have seen this book everywhere the past couple of months and I am so glad I picked it up and read it too. This was an adorable holiday read with a little spice (maybe my threshold for spice is a little high so it might be spicier for others!) but I will admit I’ll be a while before I can look at a candy cane the same way again…

As other reviewers mentioned, the first section of the book was a slow roll. I personally would have like to see more of the enemies to lovers take place early on and set up the animosity that ends up occurring later on. There is a weird blur when Storee and Cole are still “appearing” to others as enemies but it is very clear to everyone including the reader they are not… it just wasn’t believable. I put on my rose colored glasses for this part and called it a “he falls first” moment and tried to stick to the Christmas magic of it taking a toll on him. Both MC’s had great backstories and strong characterization, but Storee, for having a job editing LoveMark movies, was often not very believable as a “hopeless romantic”. I think she should have had a different job but just made that more of a quirk rather than basing her character on it.
The banter between these two was amazing, but special note to the bestie banter between Cole and Atlas too though.

This was an adorable book to finish reading on Christmas Day and the nods to a classic “LoveMark” Channel movie ending was 👌🏼 ❤️

A fun riff on How the Grinch Stole Christmas complete with rhyming lines by a narrator at the start of each chapter.

The story is told from the point of view of Storee and Cole, alternating between the two. Storee has been away from Kringle for a decade, but returns to help care for her Aunt Cindy along with her sister Taran. Cole is the 'boy next door' to her Aunt Cindy and he has turned rather grinchy after losing his parents close to Christmas.

Aunt Cindy tells Storee she wants her to enter the town Christmas Kringle on her behalf. When Cole hears about it, he puts in as well - shocking all given his history.

Plenty of fun jabbing between the two leads to them discovering their true feelings.

For those who like spicy romance, there's a bit of that once Storee and Cole admit to their feelings. Only, Storee doesn't want her aunt and sister to know until the competition is over.

it was an absolutely incredible full cast narration! This was such a fun festive read to listen to with Grinch like aspects but a lot more spice! An enemies to lovers romance with lots of banter, and dare I say candy cane? Iykyk!
If you are looking for a holiday romance to listen to this season while busy doing all the festive things getting reading for the busiest days of the year I highly recommend this one

This was such a fun book! Full of family, community, and holiday competitions this was a perfect book to end my holiday reading. Plus there was banter, romance, and a narrator that introduced the chapters in rhymes reminiscent to the original Grinch story. There are spicy scenes in this book, so if you are looking for a G-rated story this isn't it.

Epic Meghan Quinn! She has a style of writing that make me want more! I loved this book so much that I bought a physical copy. I couldn't stop reading it. Storee and Cole were a dynamic pairing. I loved the grumpy/sunshine trope with a grinchy theme. I can't say enough about this book. I vote it the best holiday book of the 2024 season!

Although I am a fan of Christmas, I absolutely love the Grinch. So when I saw Meghan Quinn and Grinch retelling I was absolutely sold!

Which I thought the Grinch retelling was done perfectly. It’s cheesy but that’s the point. The poems in between, the Christmas activities, and the reenactment of the scene where Grinch has nothing to wear was hilarious. I need this book to be a movie for many reasons but especially that scene 😂

Cole and Storee. Cole was a very fitting name and while Storee is a bit out there I appreciate the commitment to the theme. Their combo of childhood acquaintances turns enemies to lovers was just perfect. The banter and sparing was exactly what I want from a good enemies to lovers.

The only things that I didn’t love were the fact it was a little long and the third act breakup. The miscommunication and whole conflict behind it felt very forced and silly.

Read if you love:
❤️ Enemies to lovers
💚 The Grinch
🏡 Small town setting
🎄Holiday romance
🍬 Spicy (I would have used a candy cane emoji but sadly there is none)

Thank you Bloom and Netgalley for my review copy in exchange for an honest review!

Such a fun Christmas read! I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about a grinch retelling but the town competition made it really fun. All of the side characters were great and I enjoyed this story much more than I expected.

I’m typically a grinch, but I adored this book. Yes it’s cheesy and somewhat predictable, but it also had depth and SO much spice. I do not typically fall for the grump but I fell HARD! Meghan Quinn’s writing had me laughing, crying, and hoping for the perfect Christmas couple.

LOVED!!

This book was naughty and nice and full of holiday spice! It was everything I want in a Christmas romance book! It was sweet and funny (I actually laughed out loud a few times!) It had heartfelt moments, the perfect amount of spice, romance, and holiday activities, all with a small town backdrop. If you love How the Grinch Stole Christmas and cute Hallmark movies, you'll definitely love this one! It's the perfect blend!

I love the added bonus of the rhyming at the beginning of each chapter, very much inspired by the classic Grinch tale. It added some humour and enjoyment to my reading. I loved the main characters and the secondary characters were so fun too! It was such a great group!

How My Neighbor Stole Christmas
Meghan Quinn
Publishing Date: October 15, 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🎧 Narrator: Vanessa Edwin, J.F. Harding, Shane West, Robert Hatchet, Emma Wilder🎧

This book was such a fun time. Full of witty banter, snark, and humor in true Meghan Quinn fashion. And of course the spice was spicing. I will never see a candy cane the same way again.

Drawing inspiration from the Grinch, this book is full of holiday movie/book character names and references. The story centers around a small town Christmas Kringle competition. Storee and Coal are both in it to win it and this sets the stage for our enemies to lovers romance. The shenanigans that these two engage in while trying to sabotage each other are just so amusing.

Forced proximity, fake dating, small town, meddling sister, trusty side kick bestie (named Max!), slow burn… just some of the things you can expect here. There is a narrator character who provides chapter intros utilizing a Dr Suess inspired style. He also interacts with the characters throughout which was fun.

You know reading a Meghan Quinn book is going to be a good time and this did not disappoint.

🎧 There is a full cast of narrators and they were fantastic. You absolutely can’t go wrong reading this one with your ears. I flew through it despite its longer length and enjoyed every bit.

It got tolerable just after 20%. Much longer than it needed to be. Much.

Meghan Quinn’s *How My Neighbor Stole Christmas* is the perfect blend of humor, heart, and holiday magic, with just the right amount of steamy romance to keep you turning the pages. From the very first chapter, Quinn whisks readers into a festive whirlwind with her trademark wit and engaging characters, delivering a holiday rom-com that’s as sweet as it is spicy.

This story follows Lark, a woman with a prickly attitude toward the holidays, and her too-charming-for-his-own-good neighbor, Max, who seems to have an agenda when it comes to making her Christmas merry again. Their chemistry? Off. The. Charts. The banter is quick, the tension palpable, and the sparks between them absolutely undeniable. Max is the kind of hero you’ll want to root for—handsome, charming, and a little bit of a mischievous Christmas elf with a plan to steal more than just Lark’s holiday spirit.

What really sets this book apart, though, is Quinn’s ability to balance laugh-out-loud moments with those swoon-worthy, heartwarming scenes that make you believe in the magic of Christmas and love. The humor is snappy, the plot keeps you on your toes, and the steam? Let’s just say, Quinn knows how to turn up the heat, even in the snow.

If you’re looking for a holiday romance that’s both sweet and sizzling, *How My Neighbor Stole Christmas* is the perfect read. Quinn’s knack for crafting lovable characters and a page-turning plot ensures you’ll be hooked from beginning to end—and maybe even dreaming of a Max of your own this holiday season!

Holy spicy! How My Neighbor Stole Christmas delivers a festive, fiery twist on a classic tale. The story begins with a quaint but amusing Christmas rivalry between neighbors Cole, the grump next door, and Storee, his spirited opponent. While the book starts out slow—almost making me wonder if we'd ever reach 'excitement city'—the pace picks up dramatically. By the end, the story turns up the heat in a way that's both unexpected and borderline scandalous. Though the slow beginning made it hard to fully dive in, the sizzling finale definitely leaves an impression. It's a fun take on How the Grinch Stole Christmas, but the pacing left me with mixed feelings overall.
