A very fun & festive Grinch retelling! Very spicy and very Christmasy! My only complaint was that it felt a little too long, and there were too many "Christmas Kringle" competition tasks.

This just wasn't what I was expecting, and I think the premise would've served much better as a novella. Too long for what it was

Meghan Quinn and Christmas... need I say more? Loved this spicy holiday-themed novel. It was definitely slow to start, but overall a good Christmas romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an opportunity for the eARC.

Cole Black lives in Kringletown and has become a bit of a grinch since his parents died tragically 10 years ago. Storee Taylor and her sister, Taran, are visiting their Aunt Cindy to take care of her declining health. Unfortunately, Aunt Cindy is unable to compete in the town's Christmas Kringle competition this year and Storee enters instead. Cole can't possibly let an out-of-towner win the Kringletown competition so he enter too. What happens when each competition leads to fake dating, secrets revealed, and revenge...?

This was my first book by Meghan Quinn and I was delightfully happy! I absolutely loved the writing style and when any type of media breaks the fourth wall. I really enjoyed the banter and the revenge throughout the competitions. It was so hard to put this book down and it will be a book a re-read for sure during the next holiday season!

Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books | Bloom Books for the opportunity to read an Advance Reader's Copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest opinion/review. Since receiving an ARC, I have also purchased a physical copy of this book and the audiobook (Audible exclusive) for my personal collection.

Enemies-to-lovers has always been a favorite trope of mine, so I was excited to dive into this one. Cole and Storee’s rivalry in the Christmas Kringle contest was an entertaining rollercoaster of witty banter, fiery tension, and laugh-out-loud moments that kept me hooked. This truly lifted my spirits and left me with a big smile.

I also didn’t expect the story to include a second-chance romance angle, which added an emotional depth that I really appreciated. Meghan Quinn is known for her humorous romcoms with entertaining characters, and this one was no exception. Her ability to balance sweetness and spice shines here, creating a story that is both heartwarming and hilariously fun.

If you're looking for a holiday romance that delivers both laughs and feels, this is a great pick!

First, I want to extend my thanks to NetGalley, Meghan Quinn, and Sourcebook Bloom Books for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

I was so excited to dive into this one! I saved it specifically for the holiday season, envisioning myself cozy with hot cocoa, blankets, and cookies. Unfortunately, this book landed a bit more on the "meh" side for me.

Cole’s character was tough to like at first. He came across as quite awful in the beginning, and it took a while for me to warm up to him. While his arc towards the end showed growth, I struggled to fully reconcile his early behavior with his eventual transformation. I also felt like this story lacked Meghan Quinn’s usual laugh-out-loud humor. There were definitely moments that made me giggle, but it didn’t quite deliver the comedic charm I’ve come to expect from her.

On a positive note, I enjoyed some of Storee’s witty one-liners, though I would have loved to see more exploration of her job and how her expertise might have influenced her holiday competition strategy. It felt like an area ripe for development that could have added depth to her character.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and would give it 3.5 stars. While it wasn’t my favorite, I think fans of Meghan Quinn and readers looking for a light holiday romance will still find it worth their time.

There's nothing more I love than a good Meghan Quinn book and mix in a bit of one of my favorite Christmas characters - immediate read for me! This is a perfect holiday read. It's funny, filled with a ton of banter, and has all the spice we love! What a fun way to start off the Christmas season!

This will likely be one of my favorite holiday reads this year.

It was a hilarious small Christmas town romance with some amazing characters that definitely brings some spice. You will never look at candy canes the same!

I had both an eARC and got the audio.

The narration was amazing and fun and just perfection for this story. I couldn’t stop listening but also didn’t want it to end. Highly recommend grabbing the audio.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bloom for an eARC.

Oof, I’m a huge Meghan Quinn stan but this was not it. It was so boring and so un-Meghan like. Zero chemistry between Cole and Storee (🙄), plus they barely interacted in a huge chunk of the first part which totally lost me. I did not care about the Kringle thing and all the other characters. Nope, nope, nope. It’s okay tho, super excited about “The Path to Living Him” coming out soon, so I’ll be able to forget about this Xmas disappointment.

I absolutely loved this book. It was such a fun read. I loved the little rhymes at the start of each chapter. I loved all the Christmas aspects and how it brought so many people closer. The romance in this was so cute and I just loved their banter. I loved getting both of their perspectives and seeing their feelings grow and develop. Also that candy cane scene was insane!

I DNF'd at Chapter 7. I'm a huge fan of this author but this book just didn't hit for me. I'd put it down, then try again but just didn't get anywhere with it. I couldn't connect with the FMC, and she even annoyed me at times.

I'm giving 3 stars because Meghan Quinn has a solid track record with me. I'm a mood reader and I wonder if it was more of a "me" thing than a book thing.

It’s been a while since I picked up a book but boy am I glad this was the one that I did because WOWZA!! 😍😍 I’m speechless yall! I mean the candy cane scene?? The heart felt moment on stage?!?! Maybe I’m just a softie but this man.. where can I get one? Im just joking I love my husband very dearly ;) I loved this book so much between the competition, betrayal, the lies, the love, I mean all of it! The town it’s based in even gives you the warm and fuzzies! The pacing is good, I didn’t feel like it was ever lacking at any point it just overall was a fun cozy read.

Meghan Quinn does not disappoint. At this point, if she writes it, I will read it. Her couples always have such intense physical chemistry that almost nothing else matters.
I always love an enemies-to-lovers moment, especially when one is a “grinch.” I’m not always a fan of a Christmas romance, but this was just so fun, it was hard not to love.
Overall I thought there was good chemistry and tension, which everything I need from two people who loathe each other!

How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn

My rating:
3/5
⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story was a spinoff on the Grinch which I loved! It was filled with lots of Christmas elements to get me in the holiday spirt and I enjoyed how it switched POVS from Storee and Cole.

I really enjoy the author’s books and her humor. It was cute but definitely a long one (almost 500 pages.) If you love the Grinch with a little healthy dose of competition, I think you’d really enjoy this one!

I did find myself getting a little bored as it was rather wordy and when the smut finally happened, it was almost overkill towards the end since it took so long to get there.

Thank you netgalley and Bloom books for the ARC! Read this one now before the holiday season is over!

Meghan Quinn NEVER fails to make me laugh out loud! Hands down, one of the funniest authors I’ve ever read. This book was no exception! Plus a huge helping of Christmas cheer. So much fun!! ❤️🎄🎅🏻

This will make a lot of readers happy but it just wasn’t it for me. I found I had to coach myself to pick it up and that’s a deal breaker. Wouldn’t dissuade someone from picking it up, but not something I’d recommend.

Enemies-to-lovers holiday romance

Normally I love this author's books, but this one definitely was not my favorite. I liked Cole and Storee well enough ... but I didn't love them. And the premise is cute, I just found it too long ... it could have been told in half the pages. Even though some the situations were ridiculous, they did make me laugh. The steam between Cole and Storee was off the charts and quite frankly, that is what kept me reading.

I received a copy courtesy of Sourcebooks Bloom Books through NetGalley

How My Neighbor Stole Christmas
Author: Meghan Quinn
Holiday Romance

Thank you so much Netgalley, and Bloom Books for this ARC! Meghan Quinn is my favorite romance author, hands down, no questions asked. I was so excited to get this from Netgalley. This was pure Meghan perfection to me! I’m also a very avid Christmas romcom lover, so these were two of my favorite things combine. This was adorable, spicy, and hilarious as usual for Meghan. Cole is basically the Grinch, and he wants nothing to do with Christmas. Storee, his childhood nemesis, moves in next door to help her Aunt over the holidays and enter into the twins Kringle contest. He ends up entering to spite her, but their rivalry turns into something more throughout the competition. It was another perfect Christmas read… but this one was insanely spicy compared the usual G rated hallmark Christmas stuff. If you want a hot af, modern Grinch story please read this one this holiday season!

It’s certainly the ho-ho-hoiest time of the year and this book brought all of the holiday spirit!

If you’re looking for a light-hearted, funny holiday read with a decent dose of heat to keep you nice and toasty between the thighs, then this is the one for you!
Meghan Quinn always knows how to deliver incredible banter and moments that will have you laughing out loud.
I would HIGHLY recommend listening to the audiobook for this one because the full cast really just bring this book to life.

With that being said, I think if I hadn’t been listening to the audio, I might have not finished this book. However, the narration saved it for me despite feeling like the characters were a tad bit insufferable.

This was a fun holiday, seasonal read/listen but I doubt I will read it again… even with the candy cane scene lol

I enjoyed this book. Thought it had a fun premise. It took a little time to get into the book and then it was a quick finish.
