This book opens a window into the war in Ukraine through the unique and powerful perspective of a female commanding soldier. It weaves between the long and often painful history between Ukraine and Russia, the love story between the soldier and her husband, and the reality of fighting a war on the front lines. It’s raw, poignant, and captivating and hands down the most important memoir to read to understand how Ukrainians are fighting for their country.
