Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

The story had me hooked from the beginning. You couldn’t tell which way it was going to go.

After her husband died, Harper is trying to slowly start living her life. Her friend Megan suggests she signs up to an online dating site. As she goes on dates, and starts to clear some of her husbands stuff, she realises that he had some secrets that he’d kept hidden from her.

The story keeps you trying to work out how it will end.

It was very well-written.

I highly recommend this book.

A real page turner! This was an engaging thriller that kept me up late in order to find out what is going. This is a dark, twisty story that involves a woman named Harper who is a romance author. Harper's husband Charlie died two years earlier and Harper has found it hard to move on in life. She starts by adopting a sweet dog named Bailey, then her only friend Megan convinces Harper to try on line dating. One of the reasons Harper is having a hard time is that her husband died in a car accident in which her best friend was in the car with him. The thought of her best friend and her husband having an affair has made her wonder if she ever knew Charlie at all.

Harper's attempts at online dating don't start out well. One guy turns out to be married, another ghosts her and another tries to force himself on her. We also have some chapters from an unknown person who is watching Harper and he is implying he is closer than she knows. Harper starts to become really worried when she hears strange noises outside her quiet country home and finds things moved around in her house. Then she meets a handsome Irish doctor who she feels very attracted to; could he be the one? There are some surprising turns of events in this story and it veers into some dark territory (SA assault and torture) but the suspense is fantastic. I would have liked to know a little bit more about Harper; what kind of parents did she have? Since she is an author does she attend any literary festivals or writers clubs? It seemed a bit like she just dropped into her life with no background, family or any real connections to the literary world. I did really enjoy the mystery aspects and will read more by this author. Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for a copy of this ARC for review.

This is a great thriller, starting with the revelations of a secret life when the husband of romcom author Harper is killed in a car crash that also kills her best friend. Harper struggles to come to terms with their infidelity and takes time to try and move on. Eventually she tries a dating site, meeting at her local pub and finding her feet. In the background though a stalker is watching Harper and planning to kidnap her.

Great book with a very tense and entertaining narrative. I enjoyed the who dunnit and trying to guess the identity of the person stalker. In likes the story told in the different ways with some as Harper, some the stalker and also some as Luke, one of the potential new partners who may or may not be who he seems.

Highly recommend this book.

The Cottage By The Sea by Keri Beevis when Harper‘s husband died in a car accident her friend being with him and also dying, was just the first of many secrets she would uncover after his death. It’s been two years however and she’s ready thanks to the encouragement of her friend Megan to get back into dating she’s even adopted a black cocker spaniel she named Bailey who she loves immensely. It’s after getting Bailey that she notices the strange things happening around her cottage. She joins an app in the first guy Adrian she goes on a date with she really likes and wants to see again but one day while down at the beach letting Bailey play. She happens to see her date Adrian walking along the boardwalk with what obviously is his wife and children when she calls his name he tries to play it off as if she’s a client but Harper quickly sets his wife straight and says how they met and that she didn’t know they were married soon afterg A bicyclist runs into her and this is how she meets Dr. Luke. During this time we also learned that someone has been watching Harper and is trying to find a way to become friends with her but who could it be. Is it nice obliging Justin, Dr. Luke, Adrian but then we learn it can’t be Adrian because soon after the debacle on the beach Adrian is beaten up and again we wonder by who. This book only gets stranger because I haven’t even dealt in to the secrets her husband kept so many they needed their own address. and it seems Miss Beevis only gets better because this is a banger of a book and OMG it was so good I know a lot of books say it keeps you guessing but this one certainly does even after everything was revealed I was like wait what who? I really enjoyed this book and totally totally recommend it it was super awesome loved it. This is why Keri Beevis is one of those authors I don’t even have to read the summary if her name is on the book I know I am going to read it. #NetGalley,#BoldwoodBooks, #KeriBeevis, #TheCottageByTheSea,

The Cottage By The Sea by Keri Beevis – 4 Stars

The Cottage By The Sea centers around Harper, a woman still grappling with the tragic loss of her husband and best friend, who both died in a car accident two years ago. Harper has been haunted not only by their deaths but by the nagging question of why they were together on that fateful day. In an effort to move forward, she turns to online dating, but instead of new beginnings, she finds herself ensnared in a web of deceit and danger. As strange occurrences unfold, Harper realizes that the dangers she faces now are linked to secrets from her past. Can she uncover the truth before it's too late?

This is the fifth book I’ve read by Keri Beevis, and it’s definitely one of my favorites! I really enjoyed how the author captured Harper’s hesitation about dating again after such a heart-wrenching loss. The portrayal of her fear, loneliness, and vulnerability felt so real, making her an incredibly relatable character.

The book had just the right mix of tension, suspense, and secrets to keep me glued to the page. There were twists and red herrings that left me wondering who to trust and how everything would come together. While I did predict who the stalker was fairly early on (around the 20% mark), there were still enough twists to keep me second-guessing myself.

There are definitely some dark and unsettling elements throughout the book, so I recommend checking for potential triggers if you’re sensitive to certain themes. I won’t spoil anything, but it’s worth being aware.

Over the past year, Keri Beevis has quickly become an automatic read for me. Her writing is always sharp, and her pacing is spot-on, drawing you deeper into the mystery with each chapter. The Cottage By The Sea is no exception—it's a thrilling read that will keep you hooked right until the very end!

Thank you to Boldwood Books, Keri Beevis, and NetGalley for providing me with this ARC.

Harper’s world was torn apart when he husband and best friend both died in a car crash and she’s still reeling from the aftermath. Her friend persuades her to try to start again by going onto a dating website after all she met her partner on it and is deliriously happy.
But Harper finds that her matches are all very sinister, but she meets a man whilst out walking her dog and they become. Lose but what’s he hiding? Things are happening that she can’t explain.
When she starts to clear up her husbands things she finds more mystery and it all seems connected but who can she trust.
Brilliant thriller that had me guessing til the last few pages.

Wow, I really enjoyed this book. This was my first Keri Beevis book and I’m sure it won’t be my last. I don’t think I had any idea at the beginning of the book which direction it was headed. I thought the online dating was going to be the main focus for Harper but, of course, as the plot progressed it became much more sinister. Throughly riveting.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for allowing me to read this eARC early. How well do you really know your husband?
Two years ago, my whole world was ripped apart when my husband and best friend were killed in a car accident in Norfolk. Since then, I've struggled to come to terms with my overwhelming grief and to understand why they were together in Charlie’s car that fateful day.The book is gripping, and unpredictable, except for the instances of bad dates.

I absolutely loved this dark thriller! Romance writer, Harper is mourning the untimely death of husband, Charlie, She buys a dog and goes on a dating site called IntoYou but has a series of dates that look appealing on the website but we all know it's easy to make yourself into anyone you choose when you are online, She frequents the local bar where she knows the bartender so she often brings the men she meets online as she feels safe and it's close to her home, But when she begins cleaning out her husband's cottage by the sea, she realizes things are not always what they seem to be and things get crazy!

Woah what a book! Hooked from page one I found that there was absolutely no way of knowing what direction this was going to take. Harper is slowly gaining confidence to live again after the death of her husband Charlie two years previously. With encouragement from her best friend Megan, she signs up to dating site IntoYou. The story follows Harper as she navigates the various dates she goes in and also starts to realise that late husband Charlie had secrets….. This had me guessing right up to the very end. If you like a psychological thriller this is definitely one for you! The added bonus for me is that I live in the area of Norfolk that the book is set in so very familiar with the locations. Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC

It’s fast paced, exciting, suspenseful! A page turner that held my interest until I finished it in one sitting. It’s the story of Bailey, widowed and withdrawn. When her best friend encourages her to join an online dating service, she meets several men. Along the way she uncovers dark secrets about her diseased husband. This is the tale of the good, the bad and the ugly!

WOW! If this isn't a book to brag about I don't know what is... I started it late last night. Never did I anticipate I would be closing the book at 1am left in complete shock... This book was insane! It was twisted, it was gripping but it was so darn good!

Harper lost her husband Charlie two years ago in a fatal car crash. Since then, she has lived as a recluse in their country house with only her dog for company. The more Harper stays inside her house the more scared and anxious she becomes to go out. Having left London for a better quality of life, Harper left her friends and old life behind including her best friend Megan, with whom she still regularly checks in.

Megan encourages Harper to join a dating app, which will get her out of the house and possibly meet a new partner. After some promising matches Harper agrees to meet the men in a series of dates but they turn out to be disappointing, and not what they seemed online.

Strange things start happening to Harper, she feels somebody has been in her house and she hears noises outside at night. Harper takes action to feel more secure, having security cameras fitted but this doesn’t stop whoever is trying to scare her. Harper decides to start clearing her late husbands' belongings and discovers that he had a separate life away from her, one that she knew nothing about. Lots of secrets are revealed in this rollercoaster of a thriller.

A great book which had me on the edge of my seat. Full of twists and surprises. With a gripping plot and lots of mystery and suspense.

My thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Cottage By The Sea’ written by Keri Beevis in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Harper Reed’s husband Charlie died in a car crash with her best friend Alicia in the car. Two years later Harper feels ready to move on and removes all of Charlie’s possessions from their house, but it isn’t until she joins a dating site ‘IntoYou’ that strange things start to happen and she discovers that Charlie isn’t the husband she thought he was.

‘The Cottage By The Sea’ is a twisty thriller that’s crammed full of suspense and increasing tension as Harper realises someone has been in her house, removed underwear and read her private journal. I’ve been gripped from page one needing to know who’s responsible for following her, damaging a security light and plant pots but dreading what the person has planned for Harper next. Although I wanted to get to the end to find out which, if any, of the men Harper met were responsible for what was happening, there were times the plot was so scary I didn’t want to turn the lights out at night. This is a compelling rollercoaster of a thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and can definitely recommend it.

Holy Moly! What a gripping, addictive, and shocking ride! The Cottage by the Sea grabbed my attention from the very first page and never let go! I had a very difficult time putting this book down as I was glued to this jaw dropping page turner!

Starting over after a horrible loss when her husband and best friend were killed in a car accident, Harper has taken the plunge with online dating. It's been two years of grief, wondering why her friend and husband were together in the car, but Harper if finally ready to dip her toe in the dating pool. After going on a few dates, strange things begin to happen - very strange and uncomfortable things...

Wowza! Keri Beevis has wowed me yet again! I enjoyed how Harper was tentative about dating again after the death of her husband and friend. It's hard to put yourself out there and I thought the author did a great job depicting this. From the dates to the feeling of being watched, I was fully invested. I found my heart beating a little faster along with Harper when she felt she was being watched or if someone had come onto her property.

This book had enough tension, dread, suspense, and secrets to make my head spin. There were also plenty of twists and turns along the way that had me wondering who could be trusted, and how things would turn out. I had fun trying to narrow down my suspect as I kept changing my mind about characters. I enjoyed getting Harpers' POV as well as the person toying with her. Getting the sinister creepy character's POV provided some eerie and creepy vibes to the book as well.

If you have not read a book by Keri Beevis before this is a great book to start with. This is my 8th book by the author, and she never disappoints. I know that I am in for a wonderfully written great psychological thriller when I pick up one of her books.

Well thought out, dark, tension filled and pulse pounding! Highly Recommend!
