An informative book probably best for those new to mindfulness and meditation practices. I recommend not gulping the whole book in one shot, but ideally approaching the readings and exercises as a daily practice. Healing isn't quick, y'all!
Thank you, NetGalley for an advanced ARC of this self-help book
I have been reading this over time and putting into practice each chapter for a week at least at a time and found it's helped quite a bit alongside me being in therapy ... I will say that not everything worked for me, but enough did to help me improve in how I handle certain things and situations.
If u read this book I suggest not reading it all at once and taking time to do each section while you use a journal to document what u have seen and what u have been doing, because this will increase the incentive to keep going and to adopt new tools 🔧 to put into ur coping and healing journey.
Overly wordy for someone trying to read this and take it in while experiencing anxiety - I found it hard to keep my attention on what the book was trying to say. I do appreciate the mindfulness exercises and that approach, although some of it was stuff I'd already read in other meditation-focused books. I will give it a re-read when I'm in a better headspace.
I’m sure I already reviewed this so not sure why it’s popped back up. But from what I remember I found it too technical, & redundant to other similar books. #NetGalley
This book was good. I liked the tips in it,although I have read about the same ones before. The good news is that now that I have this book, I can go back and read it when I have anxiety. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.
THE MINDFULNESS AND MEDITATION WORKBOOK FOR ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION by Andrea D. Grabovac and Bruno A Cayoun is subtitled "Balance Emotions, Overcome Intrusive Thoughts, and Find Peace Using Mindfulness-Integrated CBT." Generally, New Harbinger publications are high quality and well-developed for an intended audience. We have several titles in our library collection. Unfortunately this one archived before I was able to download it so I am giving it a neutral rating of 3 stars.
I have read multiple workbooks like this one and always enjoy them. As someone with a background in self-compassion and mindfulness based interventions, I really enjoyed learning more about MICBT methods! I have already started over on this workbook to go back and take notes on anything I might have missed.
An interesting book that I am gradually working my way through. I think the ideas, support and tools it provides will be very useful.
I have been a fan of New Harbingers workbooks and guides for therapy for quite some time. I’ve done their DBT books, BPD books, and read some of their books about personality disorders and more.
I really like this book. I continue to work on identifying emotions and feels and how to control specific reactions. As I work week by week, I can feel myself growing. I am going to most likely use some of these techniques with my therapist for discussions, but I really think this is a great book to help ease anxiety, stress, and depression.

There wasn’t anything special about this book that I haven’t found in every book like this. I am not fond of the use of meditation without in depth knowledge of the practice - again western doctors using ea#tern practices to gain a profit. Just giving old practices new fancy names.
As a mental health clinician I found this book to be a nice refresher on things forgotten from grad school. I could see myself using some of these worksheets or techniques with clients and even recommending the book to clients who wish to utilize outside resources between sessions. The language used was easy to understand and digest and the worksheets weren’t too intense or off putting. A great resource!
I was searching for a resource to guide me through addressing my ever increasing anxiety and depression. I was thrilled with the opportunity to read the book The Mindfulness and Meditation Workbook for Anxiety and Depression by Andrea Grabovac and Bruno Cayoun. I loved the week by week approach that hand-held me through meditation practices for each of the 10 weeks. I felt relief that the program allows you to take the time that you need with each step and provides checklists and online resources for every week. I enjoyed the comprehensiveness of the program. I did, though, find the guided meditations found online to not be a good fit for me. While others may feel differently, I did not find the voice of the person leading the meditations to be soothing. I did enjoy the overall focus on breathwork, bodywork and loving-kindness as the key components of the meditation program. I think this would be a book best enjoyed as a physical copy so that the worksheets and checklist can be utilized. There are an abundance of resources throughout the book. I look forward to completing the program and continuing to implement the meditation exercises into my life.
The Mindfulness and Meditation Workbook for Anxiety and Depression by Andrea D. Grabovac and Bruno A. Cayoun gives you useful, scientifically-proven ways to deal with anxiety and depression through mindfulness and meditation. The authors give readers step-by-step tasks that are meant to help them become more emotionally strong, think less negatively, and take more control of their mental health. The workbook has both professional observations and easy-to-use tools, so it can help both people who are new to mindfulness practices and people who are already doing them. It's helpful for people who want to improve their mental health and find more peace within themselves.
This workbook was a great guide and provided helpful tools.
