Anna has been hopelessly in love with Max since the first time she saw him. In the three years that she's been cleaning his house for, she mustered the courage to talk to him. Why would he anyway? He comes from a rich family, and she's just a housekeeper. Until one day when she finds a special necklace at Max's place that will supposedly make all your dreams come true. And Anna wishes to be married to him. Next thing she knows, she wakes up in a new reality where she's Max's wife.

That was so cozy, so wonderful! I loved the chemistry between Anna and Max, so sizzling! The story is very much giving 2000s romcom vibes and I was so down for it!

What to expect:
- magical realism
- boss x employee
- billionaire MMC
- insta-love
- she falls first
- set in Geneva and Paris
- opposites attract
- single pov (excl. 2 chapters)

This was just so so for me. The plot was pretty predictable, as was the outcome. Good for a fluffy, no nonsense, beach read. Not my favorite Sarah Ready book, but a good quick, light read for sure. Thank you for the chance to enjoy the advanced audio copy!

I enjoyed this romance so much! So far all the books in this world have been fun and have a wonderful touch of magic to them. The wish granting was a great addition to this book and made the story really fun and whimsical. I adored Anna and Max, they were such a great couple and I loved that they got their happily ever after.

The premise of this book is absolutely enchanting, and the narration only added to its charm. Anna Benoit and Max Barone’s magical, whirlwind romance had me hooked from start to finish. Anna, a house cleaner who has long harbored feelings for Max, makes a wish and wakes up as his wife, setting the stage for a fun and heartwarming story. Anna’s sweetness and honesty shine through, while Max, initially cold, slowly becomes more likable.

Despite the overall cuteness of the story and engaging characters, I found myself a bit let down by how quickly the romance developed. The insta-love aspect, one of my least favorite tropes, felt like it rushed what could have been a wonderful build-up of chemistry between Anna and Max. I was craving more depth and connection in their interactions, which would have added to the emotional impact.

That said, the book still delivered on entertainment, and I adored how it explored the idea of getting what you wish for, only to question what love really means. The magical realism added a whimsical touch, and the deeper questions kept the story from feeling too predictable.

If you're a fan of lighthearted, magical romances and don't mind an insta-love vibe, this audiobook is an enjoyable and engaging escape!

I loved the premise and narration! I didn't, however love that it felt insta-lovish to me. That is one of my least favorite tropes. I was missing the chemistry and build up between the characters.

Thank you for allowing me to listen and review!

This was such a fun concept, as a child I was also obsessed with the idea of genies. Every different wish put me on the wdge of my seat, worried how our couple would make it through. I was surprised how spicy this was based on the cover but it was a pleasant little addition. The kooky boss Doreen made me giggle so much and the male narrator/POV was sickeningly sweet, I loved it.

I have absolutely adored this series, I can only hope Sarah Ready keeps writing more magical realism plots because she is so old at finding different concepts. This is probably not my favorite in the series as I just didn't love the characters but I enjoyed it just the same. Highly recommend this entire series to anyone looking for a hit of magical realism.

This book was super cute! The characters were interesting and the story was enjoyable!
Anna cleans Max's house for a living, and develops feelings for him. Then, she makes a wish for them to be married, and wakes up as his wife. Anna is sweet and honest, and Max is mean (he grows on you though). The story was fun and very entertaining!

Sarah Ready’s Ghosted series continues to deliver. I think this MMC is my favorite one in the series. He’s tall, dark, and handsome, a bit gruff, very commanding yet tender, fabulously wealthy, perfectly devoted, and has an amazing accent. Swoon! The audiobook narrator’s voice was super sexy.

I enjoyed the plot and felt it unfolded well. The settings were gorgeous. I felt like I was in Geneva, Paris, and San Tropez. And the side characters were distinctive and fun.

This is an enjoyable addition to the series. I love how diverse each book is, and how the magical/sci-fi elements fit each story so well.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for my review copy.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5, A Captivating, Heartfelt Journey!
Thank you Sarah & NetGalley 🩷

I absolutely adored every minute of this audiobook! From start to finish, I was completely swept away by the magical and emotional story of Anna Benoit and Max Barone. The premise is enchanting—Anna, a hopeless romantic, makes a wish and wakes up as the wife of the man she has secretly loved for years. What follows is a whirlwind of emotions, passion, and self-discovery.

The narration brought this already compelling story to life in such a vivid way. I found myself laughing, crying with both happiness & sadness, feeling deeply connected to Anna's journey. Her vulnerability and unwavering belief in true love are both touching and relatable. The chemistry between her and Max was palpable, making every interaction between them sparkle with emotion.

The best part? The book doesn’t just stay on the surface with a dreamy romance—it delves into deeper questions of what love *really* means, and whether getting everything you’ve ever wished for is truly enough. It kept me on my toes, and the twists and turns in this topsy-turvy world were both unexpected and satisfying.

If you believe in soulmates, love at first sight, or just want to escape into a beautifully crafted love story, *this* is the audiobook for you. You’ll laugh, cry, and fall in love right along with Anna and Max! Highly recommend!

4.5 out of 5 Stars

Wished by Sarah Ready is a contemporary magical realist romance that takes readers on an adventure of love and finding out what they want, and what it means to truly figure that out.

Set in both beautiful Switzerland and France, this is the fourth book in the Ghosted series. It tells the story of Anna, a hardworking, true-romantic house cleaner who has secretly loved her wealthy boss, Max Barone, for a couple of years. After making a wish on his family heirloom necklace Anna finds herself in a different reality where she’s been married to Max for seven years, and she must navigate this new life while questioning what true love and happiness mean in reality.

Ready successfully combines elements of magic and heartfelt romance yet again. The story makes you reflect on what you want from love, highlighting the saying "Be careful what you wish for". Anna is a lovable character, and it’s heartwarming to see Max change from someone who seems cold to a sweet (if a little dirty) romantic interest.

The book moves quickly, with short chapters and some steamy moments that add excitement to the magical storyline. The audiobook, narrated by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt (who sadly only got 2 chapters), brings the characters to life and is great for those who enjoy listening.

Having read Fated, I was excited for some justice for poor Max. I was a little off-put by how Max is introduced (not like I remember from Fated), and how he acts when upset. I think it is meant to be powerful and sexy, but if domestic violence is a trigger for you, just be aware that Max has a habit of grabbing and holding Anna by the wrist multiple times throughout. However, he is not a violent man.

This book feels like a slight shift into the billionaire romance genre. It is a little wild that their class disparity is never properly addressed, even as a challenge for them to overcome. The power dynamic is outrageously in Max's favour, with a generational gemstone wealth behind him, while Anna is someone who drifted into house cleaning to take care of her poor family and ended up making it her living. However, if you like billionaire romances, I don't know that it would bother you. I haven't read any, so I am not the best judge.

Overall, "Wished" is a fun escape for anyone who loves contemporary romance with a touch of magical realism. It's perfect for those who believe in wishes and the power of love and living authentically, or enjoy billionaire romances. Whether you're just starting the series or have been a fan for a while, Sarah Ready has done it again!

Wished
by Sarah Ready
Narrated by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt

Stars: 4
Synopsis: Anna Benoit is a romantic at heart, and her instant, overwhelming love for Max Barone, a man who doesn’t even know she exists, captures the magic and vulnerability of unrequited love. Ready taps into that universal yearning—falling for someone who feels impossibly out of reach. When Anna’s wish transports her into an alternate reality where she’s married to Max, the narrative takes a charming and thought-provoking turn.
This topsy-turvy world Anna wakes up in, where she’s suddenly living the life she’s always imagined, feels like the ultimate wish fulfillment. But as the story unfolds, it’s clear that even a life that seems perfect on the surface can have its complexities. Anna’s journey is not just about romance; it’s about understanding the difference between what we think we want and what truly makes us happy. The way Ready highlights this tension adds depth to the story, elevating it beyond a simple romantic fantasy.
Format: Audiobook
Review: As the fourth book in the series, "Wished" is by far my favorite. It blends magic and romance into a sweet and enchanting story. What sets it apart is how deeply it explores the nature of desire and love, not just in the fairy-tale sense but in the way those dreams can sometimes clash with reality. The combination of heartfelt romance, magic, and Anna’s journey of self-discovery makes "Wished" stand out as a truly delightful read. It's more than just a sweet, escapist read—it answers the question, what if we DO get everything we want and it's not at all what we expected?
Pros: This book grabbed me from the start, and I quickly became attached to these characters. Max and Anna are my favorite Ghosted couple. The narration for this title was lovely. I love Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt (this may be my first time listening to either actor's narration). Their voices blended beautifully and added so much to my listening experience.
Cons: None
Recommend (Yes/No/Maybe): Yes…If you love romance mixed with magical realism, this book is for you.
Thank you, NetGalley, for allowing me to review the title.

First of all, thank you NetGalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me early access to this book in exchange for a review.
This book was so cute and the first one I’ve read of this authors. Needless to say, I will be reading the rest of this series. Max and Anna are super adorable together. Although I’m jealous of this fictional couple LOL I’d love to meet a max. Haha. Highly recommend this book!

I have so loved this series by Sarah Ready! After the last book and my introduction to Max, I wasn’t sure what I would think of his story. I can now say that I loved it just as much as the others! Max and Anna were such enjoyable characters- well Max in love is, not so much grumpy mean Max!

Be careful what you wish for. It just might come true in unexpected ways.

When Anna makes a wish on a magic sapphire necklace to be married to the handsome enigmatic Max Barone, she wakes up in his bed on their 7th anniversary. Everyone in that timeline, including Max, is living that life. Life is good, but she has reservations. What should Anna do? Go along with it or try to get the life she wants without "cheating." What would you do?

This new episode in the Ghosted series is my favorite so far. The fairytale magic and the romantic settings are winsome and engaging. And the jewelry. . . To. Die. For.

The narration by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt is top notch.

As with other titles in the series, for me there are too many spicy details. So, if you are not a fan of hot tamale romances, then steer clear.

I was lucky to get an ALC of this amazing book from Netgalley! I have never read this author before but I am so happy I did because I absolutely adored this book! I will definitely be reading/listening to more of her stories. The narration was great! Amanda Ranconi was wonderful as Anna and Will Watt was an awesome Max. If I have one complaint it would that there is not enough of Max’s POV so there’d be more of Will.
Max and Anna charmed their way into my heart so easily. I love these characters and their story so much! Max was a very pleasant surprise! The story is just so cute, and so much fun with plenty of romantic moments as well. Toss in some magic, and you have a very enchanting story. I really loved it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for the ARC audiobook of Wished by Sarah Ready.

I’ve absolutely enjoyed all the books in the Ghosted series by Sarah Ready thus far, and when I was given access to Wished in advance, I was excited. This one may have been by far my favorite! Max and Anna really aren’t meant to be. Max the wealthy man who works in the jewelry making business who just asked his best friend to marry him and Anna who cleans his ask. But oh how a simple wish can change everything. For those who worry that you have to read the other books in this series, you do not. The only relevance is that you would have met Max already if you read previous books to know a bit about him. And obviously mention of some characters that you meet in other books. But easily this book can be picked up and read without the others which is great for someone is finds this one might interested. Though I’d encourage you to read all 4!!

Oh, my goodness. I love it when I read a book that has an original plot! Max and Anna find one another through wishes. I love that Max has both memories: of his life with and without Anna. I'm not sure I would have been brave enough to walk away as Anna does. Especially considering how very much Max obviously lives her. But, then again, like Anna, I would want to be sure that his love is real. I enjoyed this story so very much!

I was granted an ARC copy of Wished. I have not been paid for my review.

I loved the concept for this one and the first 25% really lived up to expectations. I found the characters endearing and couldn't wait to see how the story would unfold.

Unfortunately, I didn't feel like the rest of the book was quite as good. For me, the development of their relationship was far too quick and didn't really make sense to me. I can sometimes get on board with the insta love vibe but this one just didn't hit. I also felt like the male main character's shift in personality was so sudden and could have been done more gradually to be more believable. It felt like two different characters to me.

I also strongly disagreed with a point that was made within the first half of the book, as it came from a place of privilege and, therefore, was rather offensive to suggest it applied universally. Furthermore, the author then contradicted this big argument later in the book and it did not seem intentional.

Overall, I felt like this book had so much potential but it didn't follow through.
