I wished I didn't disliked it ...
There is no real plot outside of the wish. There are just vibes and insta-love romance that I don't appreciate.
I',m sorry to say but the author have other books much betters.
Narrators were fine :D
I was pleasantly surprised by how well the light and joyful female voice and the male narratorโs British accent captured the spirit of the characters.
We all wish for different things: joy, health, love. Anna fell in love at first sight with her employer. As a maid, she knew there wasnโt much hope for her love to be reciprocated. Max Barone had sworn off passion in his life. When a magic necklace granted Anna a wish, everything changed for both of them.
Once I started listening, I was so entranced by the story that I finished this audiobook in one go.
Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a light romance with a whimsical twist!
After reading and loving the 3rd book in this series, Fated, I was lucky enough to be gifted with the eARC of this book, which is the 4th in this series. I absolutely BINGED this book any second I was able to sit down and read it.
Anna was a sweet FMC, who you just find yourself rooting for. She has been in love with her boss for three years, ever since she first met him, and ends up heartbroken after she is found to have stolen a necklace and she gets fired. But here's the catch, it's a magic necklace that grants wishes, and Anna never stole it, but she did end up making a wish.
At first, I hated Max. He was just very unlikeable and had a terrible personality. But as the book went on, I started to like him as his personality evolved and he was no longer acting like a stuck up dork.
I loved the idea of a magic necklace that allows people to make a wish to get what they want and the execution of that concept in this book was fantastic. I do have one complaint and that is that the relationship between Anna and Max escalated pretty fast. HOWEVER, it isn't that big of an issue to me because Anna loved him before the wish, and Max has the memories of the marriage, which included several years worth of love for the two of them, which affected how he felt about Anna.
Thank you to Sarah Ready, Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC, and NetGalley for the eARC of this book. This is my honest review.
Sarah Ready never disappoints. This series has captured my heart with such real relationships in such a mystical way. I love seeing max make a return from fionas book, and i really enjoy how he turned from someone not open to love, to the biggest simp in the world. I love these characters and how they find each other. If i had the choice i would read this series again for the first time in a heartbeat.
Thank you to netgalley and the author for sending me the book in exchange for an honest review

Imagine being able to wish for something youโve wanted for a while now and have it actually come true. That's exactly what happened when Anna made a spontaneous wish to marry Max Barone, the man she had been cleaning for years. As she woke up to find herself actually married to Max, she realized the depth of her mistake. Trapped in a dreamlike state with a man who may come to resent her, Anna faces the challenge of keeping her perfect life or looking for a way to revert her wish.
๐๐ก๐ story was not just entertaining but also thought-provoking. Anna's experience serves as a cautionary tale about the power of our desires and the importance of considering their long-term effects. As she embarks on a wild journey to undo the wish, Max struggles with his own conflicting feelings towards their sudden marriage. It was so much fun to see them trying to make sense of their predicament. There were also some very steamy moments that honestly had me blushing!
๐งNarrated brilliantly by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt, the audiobook brings the characters to life with vivid detail and spot-on accents.
๐๐ you enjoy a blend of humor, romance, and a touch of magical realism, I highly recommend giving this audiobook a listen!
๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ค you to the author, Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC and Netgalley for this fun ALC.
Like the other three books in the Ghosted series, I loved Wished. This series has made me a Sarah Ready fan, and I am ready to read her entire backlog. It's worth mentioning that I LOVE magical realism, so this series is my jam.
Anna Benoit is a strong, hard-working, honest staff member who quietly starts falling for her boss. Her boss, who doesn't believe in love and barely knows she exists, spends his life working and lonely. One day, after a wish, Anna suddenly married Max. The only people who know that things aren't right are Anna and Max.
In some strange way, this is almost like a fake dating trope but in reverse, since everyone believes they are together except the couple! It is a delight to watch as these two 'try out' what a relationship would look like while they navigate trying to figure out how to undo the wish. The fact that Max has the memories from their 7-years together deliciously complicates things since he can remember how wonderful they were together while struggling with knowing that they aren't truly together.
This book starts slowly, but stick with it because it's a great read. For an even better experience, read the first three books in the series (ideally in order).
If a Sarah Ready books comes onto Netgally its a instant request!
There is something about her writing that makes it so enjoyable. This is book 4 in the Ghosted series.
This follows Anna and Max. Hes never noticed her and she feel as soon as she meet him.
She makes a wish then ends up coming true.
Most of the book takes place in the wish which I enjoyed the only thing I didn't enjoy was the insta love and how it went from upset to angry to fine with it.
But Its not enough to take away from the enjoyment. 4 Stars. Can't wait for her next book
Thank you Netgalley for this Audio-Arc in exchange for my review.
This is the fourth book in the Ghosted series by Sarah Ready, I did like the storyline but I wasnโt really invested in it and Iโm not too sure why. I donโt know if it was because the story started with the POV of Max and then went to Anna, it took me a while to relate the POV of Maxโs to the storyline and what was happening.
The audiobook of "Wished" by Sarah Ready is a mixed bag. The story about wishing is cute and easy to listen to. The narrator does good job. The audio quality is very good, with no annoying background noises. It is around 8 hours long, although I like to listen to my audio books faster than 1 so it was shorter for me. The romance plot is simple and a bit predictable, but it's still fun. This audiobook was fun, but it's a decent pick if you want a light, romantic listen. It might not blow you away, but it could keep you entertained while doing chores or driving. Thank you NetGally for this ARC.
As always Sarahโs books leave me feeling so warm and happy. This story is such a stunning part of the series, it was just such a joyous read. Not only did Sarah have me bawling my eyes out one minute and laughing and swooning the next. She also manages to make me fall incredibly in love with the characters each time she writes a new book.
Our main female character is a super beautiful soul who I felt so much relation to, in her you see yourself honestly it was such a lovely story and honestly one I had been eagerly awaiting to read! I highly highly recommend this read!
Wished is part of the Ghosted series by Sarah Ready, and while it mentions and includes characters from other books in the series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. I'm a big fan of Sarah's work, and her ideas for these books are unique and entertaining, with some unexpected twists. While I admit that Fated is still my favorite, I thoroughly enjoyed Wished. Max, who appeared in Fated, finally gets his story in this book, and I love it. I only wish we got more from Max's perspective rather than at the beginning and epilogue. Anna's character was interesting and down to Earth. She isn't selfish or self-absorbed. She was a refreshing and relatable character. The voice actor for Max was pleasing to the ears. I also enjoyed the voice for Anna, they were pleasing to listen to and I thought they did a good job throughout the book. Overall, I found this book delightfully entertaining, and I finished it in one sitting. I'm already eagerly anticipating the author's next book.
What would you wish for if you came across a necklace that grants wishes? Anna wishes for marriage not with anyone, no she wishes to be married to Max Barone who owns the chateau she's been cleaning for 6 years. Why specifically Max you may ask, I could tell you but that isn't fun! I highly suggest anyone and everyone gives this book a try because it truly was so enjoyable. This is not your typical romance book, it is whimsical. fun and breathtakingly beautiful. Though this book is listed as #4 in the Ghosted series you can read it as a standalone (this is the first book I've read by Sarah Ready and had no issue) I will definitely be reading the rest of the series!
4.5 Wished is the story of love at first site. Anna, a housekeeper, has loved Max, one of her clients, since she first saw him. He doesn't seem to notice her though! When Anna makes a wish on a magical necklace, she wakes up with her wish come true but none of the memories that would align with the life she wished for! She's married to Max, but where do they go from here?
I thoroughly enjoyed the audio book. The narrators added took the story to the next level and really added to my enjoyment! Well done to the author and the narrators.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audio arc!
This was my first foray into Sarah Ready's work and I don't think she is for me. The opening of this book was from the MMC's perspective and I felt like I was thrown into the deep end without floaties. Max's wife is at his office wanting to see him on their anniversary. Except today is not Max's anniversary, because Max has never been married. She comes into his office and he realizes he doesn't know her, but maybe he does? He can't recall anything about her, except he has vivid images of them having had sex in his office - was that real or a dream?
We then jump back a couple of days and into the FMC's POV, where we are introduced to Anna, one of the maids who cleans Max's vast mansion. She describes her first meeting with Max, when she bopped into his home office (motown playing in her headphones) to vacuum without realizing he was in the room. Their interactions over her 3 years of employment were minimal at best, but that did not stop her from claiming she loved him. When a necklace appears on the library desk one day while cleaning with a letter claiming that it grants wishes, Anna wishes she and Max were married. She then "unwishes" it (because that's how these things work) before Max spots her apparently pocketing the necklace and proceeds to fire her. The next morning when she wakes up, she and Max are married, but she can't seem to remember their life together, Max seems to remember both versions of reality, and everyone in their lives only knows them as happily married for 7 years.
I had to DNF at 37%, around the time that Max abruptly changed his tune from "I've never been married; you tried to steal from me; you are a liar" to "Let's see if all my wish-memories are accurate and how well i know you!". This happened literally overnight in the book. I found myself not caring enough to continue, as the characters felt one-dimensional (and not even consistently), the premise felt like it was lacking in any sort of plan or promise of answers, and after listening to over 1/3 of the book, we only got the initial chapter in Max's POV. Maybe a true dual POV would have made this more interesting. Either way, I decided it wasn't for me. I have no doubt that some will love the low-stakes, insta-love relationship...this one just wasn't my cup of tea.
Thank you to Swift & Lewis Publishing and NetGalley for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.
The premise of this book is completely enchanting and charming. What if you made a wish and it came true?
The characters were just as enjoyable as the premise. There wasn't really anything to dislike about this book! However, it still somehow didn't bring me into it's magic like I thought it would. I can't quite put my finger on what it was.
While it didn't work magic for me, that doesn't take away from the lighthearted and magical book that it is and if you are looking for that, you will get it in this book.
3.5 stars rounded up!

This was a cute and easy read. It's a fluffy, feel-good romance with a touch of magic. I love the cover and the audio narrators were really good. I haven't read the 3 books before this, and I'm not sure I will, but I enjoyed this one.
Wished is the fourth book in Sarah Readyโs Ghosted Series. This time we get to read about Maxโs story who we met in the previous book. To be honest I had been feeling a little sorry for his character in how he was treated in that story. So was glad when I saw the fourth book was about him, and I was hoping he would get the happy ending he deserved. This time around the super natural element of the book is based around a wish. As always the book is very well written, you can tell Sarah Ready always puts a lot of research into her storyโs as they are so descriptive and spot on with the facts. Another amazing read which I couldnโt put down, such a great story line with lots of depth and emotion to it. Definitely recommend, five well deserved stars.
I had the audio version which was very well read, clear and easy to listen to. It also has different narrators for the male and female parts, which always helps the flow of the story.
This audiobook was enjoyable to listen to and follow along as the story unfolds. Definitely one that I would recommend to others. This was the first novel I have read in this series but I am interested in reading the other books as well.
"When I was little, I wanted to be a genie." ...said no one, ever.
"If I were a genie, I'd have the power to give everyone what they wanted most in life." ...so you want the best for your loved ones? for them to be healthy, happy and fulfilled? how original.
I couldn't take this book seriously. I listened to the audiobook, and the male narrator's attempt to sound like a pompous, out-of-touch European was unbearable. If I had to hear it one more time, I would have DNF'd immediately. Naming the character Max felt like a lazy writing choice. Anna was incredibly unlikableโflat, lacking nuance, "honest to a fault," and essentially a copy-paste of Max. The insta-love was ridiculous, with Max falling for Anna in one day in Paris after an all-nighter of convincing himself to give it a try because, in his fake memories, they had the best sex ever.
I have been sitting with this book, trying to decide what I think about it for over a day now. That being said, I did not dislike it.
There were many parts, especially in the first half of the book, that had me laughing and enjoying myself. Without spoiling things, during the 2nd Act of the book I was honestly just confused. I was not positive which character was the cause of where they found themselves. I did love the second chance meet cute. But the end didn't do it for me. It just felt too easy.
As a reader who has read MANY MANY books, I recognize that there is a lid for every pot. Just because this book was not my favorite, does not mean it wouldn't totally vibe with someone else. So, if you love a book with some crazy twist and turns, with some spice, some steam, an MMC who pays attention to who she is, a FMC who was in love from the start, a little bit of the hands at fate in play, and a HEA without any major heartache than this is for you. Wished is a very light, easy read, with a proper Happily Ever After.
I did have the opportunity to listen to an ALC, and would like to review the narration seperately.
I felt like the narration hit kindof like the book did for me. It definitely was not bad. But having had the opportunity to listen to books that have narrators who speak to your soul.......this was definitely not that. The narrator did a good job to speaking clearly, provided some emotion to the story through their voice, but just didn't have it all for me.
