Wished is the fourth book in this series and the third I read. I really need to get to Ghosted - book 1 - but having recently counted my TBR and having over 1000 (😱) books to read I’m not sure I’ll be getting to it any time soon!

So, I loved Switched but for me Fated just lacked that funny, flirty banter between the characters. Wished was a nice balance in between with both serious aspects and funny moments.

I listened to the audio of this and enjoyed the narrator throughout. The story is told from Anna’s perspective throughout with exception of the epilogue. It was an easy listen, as with Switched and Fated!

Anna makes a wish, which changes her whole life. In the alternate reality she is married to Max. Max is a character we know from Fated and honestly I thought he was a bit of a wet wipe but I was pleased to say he was totally different in his own story. This was surprisingly spicy too! With the rest of the series you need to let your imagination go and embrace the magical realism.

Release Date: 10/1/24
Format: audiobook
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the fourth book in Sarah Ready’s Ghosted series which always delightfully combines romcom vibes with a sprinkle of magic that is usually a mystery to our main characters! Wished is no different - our FMC is a housekeeper for our rich MMC and after making a wish on a bracelet to be married to him, she finds she should be careful what you wish for!

This book is whimsy and fun. I really enjoyed the Geneva and Paris settings and the lack of much conflict was a nice change to the normal 3rd act breakup. Where this book didn’t work for me, unfortunately, was how heavy it relied on insta-love for both main characters. It felt really unbelievable and left us with very little tension or honest chemistry.

This was still a quick and easy read with some fun parts though! Not upset I read it, but I do think other books in the series have been much stronger. Narrators Will Watt & Amanda Ronconi were both very strong and talented and I do think they made the story more enjoyable as well!

REVIEW
cw: mention of death, kidney disease, alcoholism, child abuse, DV, bullying

The moment Anna Benoit caught sight of her enigmatic boss, she was immediately enamoured. Max Barone is the owner of the most prestigious Swiss jewellery company. When Anna makes a wish that she’s married to Max while cleaning his chateau, she wakes up in a topsy-turvy world where her wish comes true, and everyone thinks they've been married for seven years. There's only one problem. Max doesn't even know Anna's name.

I always know I'm in safe hands when I read a book by Sarah Ready, and I ADORED Max from Fated, so I was really excited to read his story. I was also lucky enough to be able to listen to the audiobook alongside reading an eARC, and I highly recommend doing the same as Will Watt & Amanda Ronconi captured Max and Anna perfectly.
I loved getting to know Max better. He was such an interesting character, and understanding why he was so closed off to love made so much sense after we discovered what it did to his parents. I loved the way he was written as such a powder keg of restrained passion. The explosion was intense and extremely satisfying. His fears about love and hate were also sensitively explored. I thought the landmine analogy he talked about was perfect, even though my heart broke for his childhood recollections.
I loved Anna. She was such a sweetheart, and I particularly appreciated how hopeful she was despite everything she'd dealt with in her life. She was such a nurturing person, and I appreciated how she cared for her mother and sister. I loved the almost oppressive chemistry between her and Max after they met for the first time as 'husband and wife'. The way Max's recollections were incorporated was so cleverly done and SO hot, and Agathe, his secretary's reaction to his confusion was hilarious. I also loved their banter as they grew closer.
Their first kiss was sublime. The chapters in Paris were so beautifully written, and I adored the escalating sensual tension between them. It truly was the most exquisite slow burn. Meanwhile, even though I completely understood Anna's ethical dilemma, St Tropez h*rny Max was absolutely hilarious. There's nothing better than a filthy mouth as far as I'm concerned, and Max put his to excellent use.
There were some interesting supporting characters, and I would love to see Anna's sister, Emme, in a story in this series in the future (maybe she could paint herself into a new reality *winks*). I liked Dorene, Anna's boss. She was a lot of fun but also gave great advice.
The magical elements have been a lot of fun in this series, and they were so well executed in this story. I loved that the impact of each wish was a little different but always unexpected. Chapter 31 utterly wrecked me. My heart broke for both of them, but the reunion was absolutely worth the wait. I swooned so much and I ADORED the acrostic ring. Meanwhile, the epilogue was just perfection.
Another truly gorgeous story.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Oh how delightful it was to be back in the world of the Ghosted series again!
This is the fourth book in the series and we've (me and my son!) been keeping up to date and have read all 4 books in this series now.

Wished takes us back to Geneva and on a journey with Max and Anna.
I loved this because we obviously got to know Max fairly well in book 3 - Fated - when we meet him in Fiona's story.
Now, I don't want to be giving any spoilers for either book if I can help it, but if you read Fated, then you'll know why I felt really upset that Max was missing out.
Hence my joy for this book!

Once again, we're taken on a magical adventure when Anna, Max's cleaner, finds and makes a wish on one of Max's antique pendants and then finds that they're living an alternate life, where they've been married for years!

I just can't say any more about the storyline because in true form, things progress rapidly, things get muddled up and we are swept away in the crazy, romantic bliss of it all.

I absolutely loved Anna from the start. The contrast in her and Max's background and way of life made for a lovely fairytale style plot and the thing I loved most was that Anna wasn't drawn in by the money and wealth, she was just truly and madly in love with Max.

Max's development was just brilliant. From the man we had met in book 3, to see him thrown into this crazy "wish" world was wonderful and to see the changes in him even towards the end of the book - well I just loved every second.

As ever, the writing style is emotive and descriptive and draws you right in from the first to the last page.
Packed with passion, magic, humour and a fair few twists and spicy scenes, I was completely immersed the whole way through.

If you've seen my other ("Ghosted") reviews, then you'll know that I always share this series with my (grown up) son, who never reads books!
This is also why it takes me far longer to finish these books than normal, as we have to schedule it round both our activities - but we made it through another one and we both absolutely loved every second!

We can't wait to see if there'll be another book coming and who we'll see starting in it!?

💕Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕

I struggled to get into this book in the first few moments but then once I gave it a chance it was very interesting. I do feel that the plot lagged a bit towards the 75% mark. I feel it could have been wrapped up at that point. I think if if you’re looking for a romantic book with a few Hallmark moment shenanigans thrown into the mix this one’s for you!

Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my review

Sarah Ready has really knocked it out of the park with this series. .My ears were glued to my headphones from start to finish. I loved both of the narrators. They had wonderful voices and really brought the story to life. I loved Max in Fated, so I was eager to hear his story.

Anna is his housekeeper. She makes a wish on the necklace sitting on Max’s desk. Then…it gets complicated to say the least. I loved the conflict. Anna was a character I could completely understand as I’m a brutally honest person that doesn’t always believe I deserve things. Max and Anna had good, believable backstories and solid character developments. The author does a great job of making the books true to the romance genre, but she also puts her own uniqueness to each story. Some people are just meant to be story tellers, and Sarah Ready is one of them.
Huge thanks to the audio book publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to listen and review this book!

I find this one really hard to review without spoilers.

<spoiler> I feel like this had potential- I really liked Max coming to terms with the thought of love and passion, but I was so frustrated with the process. The thought of them being stuck in the alternate reality was sad. Ultimately, it was resolved well, but the journey was not my favorite. </spoiler>

Amanda Ronconi narrates the audiobook and can always be counted on for a good performance. Will Watt narrates the prologue and epilogue. I wish there were more Max POV chapters, but understand why there wasn't.

I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars! I truly love this series by Sarah Ready. I wish it could go on forever. I was so excited to get Max’s story after reading Fated and it didn’t disappoint. This was a fast-paced book and I was able to read it pretty quickly! I enjoyed all the variations of who knew what and in what reality. Max and Anna had great chemistry. I wish we had a few more chapters from Max’s POV but it was fitting to have it start and end with him. I loved the mentions of the characters from previous books in the epilogue. The narration was also great! Both narrators did a fantastic job. Overall highly recommend this book (and the whole series)!

I loved this book! Literally couldn't put it down and stayed up way too late reading it. The story is cute and though it features major rom-com tropes, the book didn't feel repetitive or over-done. The characters are very likable and their reactions are realistic. So many times you read a book and find yourself screaming at the characters to stop being stupid, just talk to each other! I didn't once have to scream at the characters to make better choices!

If you are listening to the audiobook version, the narrator is FANTASTIC! I'll have to see if I can find other books she's narrated as well as other books by Sarah Ready. Huge fan!

Happy reading!

Anna Benoit has been in love with Max Barone for years now. The problem? Max seems to have no idea that she exists. So when Anna wakes up and appears to suddenly be Max’s wife, she realizes that her world has been flip on its head. The real kicker? Max has also woken up in the same topsy turvy world as Anna, and also doesn’t remember their last seven years of marriage.

This audiobook was such a fun listen. I knew I was going to enjoy the book, as I had also listened to Sarah Ready’s book ‘Switched’ and liked the types of stories she tells. This book has an interesting focus on the multiverse and wishes, bringing a touch of magical realism to the book and answering the question of ‘what could have been?’. I loved the parts of Max’s POV, and the chemistry between our two main characters was absolutely electric!

I recommend this book for lovers of magical realism, passionate love and stories about hopeless romantics.

Tropes in this story:
✨Wealthy/not wealthy couple
✨Love at first sight
✨Forced proximity
✨Magical realism
✨Romantic European setting

I received an Advanced Listening Copy of this book via NetGalley, but my review is all my own.

Wished: Ghost Book 4 by Sarah Ready, narrated by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt, is an utterly captivating contemporary romance that you won't be able to put down. Imagine finding yourself in an alternate timeline where you and your long-time crush are happily married for 7 years. That's exactly what happens to Anna when she makes a wish on a mysterious necklace. As she and Max set out to make things right, sparks fly, and they find themselves falling in love. But the big question is, will Max remember the passion and romance he found with Anna once they return to their timeline, or will they both end up alone?

This story is a rollercoaster of emotions, with Anna and Max's incredible chemistry leaping off the pages. Watching them navigate their feelings and grow as individuals is both heartwarming and relatable. The vivid descriptions of the charming French setting will make you feel like you're right there alongside the characters. The narrators bring the story to life, making it an absolute delight to listen to.

If you're a fan of second chances with time-bending twists, humor, and a dash of spice, Wished is a must-read. It's a powerful reminder of the magic that happens when we take a leap of faith and open ourselves up to love. Trust me, this book is an enchanting journey you won't want to miss out on!

I would like to thank NetGalley, Sarah Ready and Swift & Lewis Publishing for an ARC copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

5⭐ - call me a hopeless romantic but this was such a fun, cute read. Narrated by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt.

We follow 25 year old Anna Benoit who has been cleaning for the handsome Max Barone for a few years, because she's been cleaning his house for years she gets a sense that she knows Max, she knows he has a sweet tooth and likes to read Charles Dickens books - but Max... doesn't notice her.

One day while cleaning his office, Anna finds a special necklace that grants wishes. Anna wishes she's married to Max and that he loves her.

She wakes up and everyone calls her Ms Barone, so did her wish work?

This was such a cute story, I was rooting for the characters Max and Anna - I wanted them to work out. The narrators did a great job bringing the story to life.
This story is the fourth book in the series, but can be read as a standalone.

Such a fun read. This is almost a perfect Halloween wish or Christmas wish read. The characters were so great and the three different story lines had me hooked. I also appreciated that it could be read as a standalone book even though it’s within a series

This was a super cute romance. It gave a bit of The Time Travelers wife with the wishes.
I love the different dynamics of the main characters and enjoyed hearing different points of views.
So not only is a cute romance story but there is some spice thrown in!

I listened to the audiobook of this title. The opening drew me in with a male narrator with a fantastic accent. The story line was interesting. I liked that unlike other books with similar theme of wishes coming true it took 4 wishes before we get to the end of the book. I have to mark this down though because the end of the book there is a character introduced quickly and abruptly the character is gone. The character being a child leaves me confused as to who this child is and what happened to the child when a character abruptly leaves a public place. As a mom that took my attention off the story and had me screaming as to where and what happened.

Anna Benoit is twenty-something. She lives in Geneva with her mom and her little sister and her job is (along with her boss and neighbor) to clean the magnificent Barone chateau. It's a daunting task to keep the beautiful place in clean and tidy, but the best part of it is seeing its sole occupant: Max Barone, sole heir to the Barone jewelry empire. When she first saw him years ago, it was like she was hit by lightning. They've barely spoken, though, but she lives for the occasional moments when they do.

When one days she sees one of the precious Barone pieces - a necklace with a handwritten note that says it grants wishes - she takes a shot and wishes she and Max were married. To her utter shock, when she awakes next morning, she's not at home, but in a differently decorated version of Max's bedroom and everyone is calling her Mrs. Barone. Everyone thinks they have been happily married for seven years. Well, everyone except a very confused and annoyed Max. Now, they will have to go on an adventure of sorts to "unwish" everything and make life go back to normal. But sometimes, when you are granted a wish, it's the a magical way in which the Universe just set things right...

This one is delightful! The rich guy/poor girl takes a completely different turn and you get enchanted alongside the characters. You start wishing for them to be happy too.

The audiobook is narrated by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt. Amanda does a great job narrating most of the book, while Will narrates the prologue and the epilogue, giving us Max's POV when he does. I love Will Watt and I wish he had more presence in this, but I understand  the choice of having him open and close the story.

If you are a fan of magical  realism and romance, you will definitely fall in love with "The Barones". Lovely story and I am sad the series ended.

Content notes: mentions of death of parents, bullying, alcoholism, financial insecurity, child abandonment, toxic family relationships

I really enjoyed the narrators for this one, I hadn’t listened to them before but I will be looking out for more of their reads. This was a cute story about the power of making a wish, and taking a leap of faith. You never know what wonderful things could be waiting, but is it better to work towards something (and speak up!) or depend on the magic to do it for you? I didn’t realize it was the fourth book in a series, so I’ll be going back to check out the previous ones.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc. This is another unique and fun Sarah Ready romance. This time our MC makes a wish and finds herself married to the man she fell in love with at first sight, who barely knows her. He doesn’t want passion or love, but I’m sure you can see where that goes. Fated was my favourite of this series, but I did really enjoy Wished. I hate love at first sight but it was tolerable in this. I listened to the audiobook, which was really well done. This series is pure entertainment and this one continued on with that.

When I first saw there was going to be another book in the Ghosted Series I could not get my hands on it quick enough. I have loved every book in this series and every book I have read by Sarah Ready. The trend continues because I am in love with Wished.

At first, I was a little worried, the male lead is Max who was a supporting character in Fated. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Max and his outlook on relationships. When the book first started Max was a jerk and I was nervous if I would not like this book. Fortunately, Anna is the strongest female lead in the series so far and she carried the story until Max stopped being a jerk.

Anna falls for Max immediately. For her, it was love at first sight. Max doesn’t even know who she is but that didn’t matter to Anna, she was in love. She makes a wish on a necklace to be married to Max and her wish comes true. This wasn’t a typical your wish comes true and we learn some lessons, this was different. There ended up being more than one wish by more than one person which led to a surprising conclusion.

I feel like every time I finish a book by Sarah Ready I have a hard time getting into a new book because I’m left thinking about what I just finished. Wished stuck with me and I can’t stop thinking about it. These are the best kind of stories. I can’t wait to see what’s next in this series.

This was such a light and cute read. I enjoyed the characters journey and the 3rd act twist (wish 2). I think it was a wildly entertaining premise and has made me want to go back and read the other books in this series! The narrator was also on point!

Thanks to Netgalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC | for the early listen!
