I don't know if it was just me, but this book gave me "Howl's Moving Castle" vibes with the entire LOVE wish. And I really enjoyed it. The spicy scenes were *chef's kiss*.
The audiobook was good, I just wish we got more of the male POV narrator. I think we only heard him maybe twice. I wanted more of Max's POV and how he felt about the wish. The female narrator did a great job bringing the story alive. Highly recommend.

»A romance tour-de-force and a masterclass in trope subversion and authentic connection«
When Anna makes a romantic wish upon a magic necklace about the jewelry tycoon who's house she cleans, she hadn't expected it to come true - until she wakes up as Max Barone's wife.
This book drew me in SO deep. The writing is remarkably real, poignant and emotional - while still easy to read, Wished gripped me so much harder than I expected. Ready subverses and uses tropes so magnificently that she moved me to laughter and tears both while reading. The romance is wonderfully crafted and both touching and heart-warming - Anna and Max are truly a couple the reader can fully root for.
The romance is magical but realistic, sexy but sweet - Ready balances characteristics that should conflict so effortlessly that she makes them complementary. This was a book that I COULD put down - because I wanted to be able to come back and experience more of it. More of Anna, who's genuine nature does not make her clueless, just kind. More of Max, who is jaded for all the right reasons and yet ready to be swiped off his feet. More of Geneva, more of Paris...
I would usually include a critical point in this part of my review, but I genuinely disliked nothing about this book. I am sighing happily as I write this review.
Ready's novel is set in Geneva, Switzerland and features several other European locations, all lovingly and immersively described. the atmosphere of the book is romantic and colourful, without losing the edge of believability that grounds it as a contemporary romance novel.
Ronconi's narration is personable and comfortable, effortlessly bringing the reader along in Anna's emotions along the way. The additional P.O.Vs from Max in the Prologue and Epilogue were a wonderfully charming edition, Watt's warm-voiced narration the perfect accompaniment.
If you read any romance book this year, let it be this one!

A touch of magic in the real world and a really cute love story? Sign me up. I received an ALC from NetGalley and haven't read the rest of the books in the series, but this was perfectly fine as a stand-alone. I didn't feel like I was missing anything. (And will be checking out the rest of the series because I really enjoyed this!).
After meeting Max from his own POV in the beginning, I was honestly worried because I didn't see how it would be possible for him to grow on me, but he did!!!
I wasn't the biggest fan of Max's narrator, his voice just felt over the top and not natural to me, but we only have two chapters from his POV, and I really enjoyed Anna's narrator.
If you're looking for a cozy, sweet read with a little magic and spice- this is worth checking out!!!
Thanks again, NetGalley and Sarah for the opportunity to listen and review! 💕
With Wished, the fourth book in Sarah Ready's charming series of Ghosted, I can officially declare myself a true fan of the series.
As with the previous books, this one doesn’t disappoint—delivering exactly what you’d hope for in a romcom.
While the story feels a bit different from the others, it’s still incredibly sweet and heartwarming, making it a delightful addition to the series
Thanks NetGalley, the
This is the fourth in Sarah Ready’s adult romcom series. She continues to have fun with adult fairytales, stories about finding love and soulmates. Warning don’t listen to the prologue unless you have time to listen to the whole book. Because you will be totally hooked and probably hate yourself. Once more we dip into a little bit of fairytale magic, mis-understandings, love at first sight but not acknowledged, romance and spicy adult action. All the books in this series can be read as a stand alone. But why limit yourself to just this one when they are all so much fun to listen to. Thank you to Swift and Lewis Publishing, LLC and NetGalley for the audio ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

This book had such an intriguing premise that I was hooked from the beginning. At first, I wasn't sure that I could start rooting for such a one-sided unrequited love but I quickly fell for them. The audiobook was so well done and the story was engaging. I wanted to keep listening to get to the end and while not everything made sense in the end, the book's whole premise is about making a wish and it coming true. I loved listening to the book and feeling involved in the romantic vibe of the whole book. I loved the FMC and ended up liking the MMC - although what was missing for me was how he didn't end up loving the FMC because of the wishes, I wished there was something from before the magic.
I've been captivated by Sarah Ready's storytelling since I read Ghosted earlier this year. Her romcoms are consistently witty, lighthearted, and endearing— and this one is no exception. Wished follows Anna Benoit, a maid for Max Barone. She has been cleaning his chateau for years, but he barely acknowledges her existence. One day, Anna finds a magical necklace and wishes to marry Max. Her wish comes true… but soon she begins to wonder whether this is what she truly wants in her life.
I'm always up for a magical realism romance, so I was really excited to read this book! I really liked Anna, the protagonist, because she's both admirable and relatable. I appreciated her honesty and her love for her family. Her desire to grant people's wishes while feeling unworthy of having her own wish come true is something I can resonate with. Max was.... okay. I enjoyed learning about him and his struggles with love but I didn't like him as a love interest. I didn't fully connect with their relationship. The romance in this book also felt rushed. I wished the book had been longer to explore their interactions more.
The audiobook made the reading experience more enjoyable. The production is good and I love the narrators. While I enjoyed listening to this, I wasn't moved by it. I think there moments when the emotions weren't there. I wished the narrators could've done more to make certain scenes more impactful.
Overall, Wished was a fun read, but it wasn't as strong as the previous books in the series. The concept was intriguing and the characters were enjoyable, but the romance didn't quite deliver what I hoped it would.
I sincerely hope that Sarah Ready continues to write more books in this series! They have become my absolute favorites. I'm typically a mystery lover, so this novel, a combination of fantasy and romance, is unique. But it is so enjoyable to follow the story. As is typical of Ready's stories, this one takes a character from the previous novel and puts them at the center of a new story. However, that's not to say one must have read the previous book. This one stands alone quite effectively. Max, the wealthy owner of a jewelry business in Geneva, is alone after being rejected by his life-long friend who chose another man. Anna is a woman who cleans his house and has a big crush on him. But their circumstances don't favor their getting together. One day, however, Anna discovers a jewelry box with a letter that states the necklace has the power to grant wishes. So Anna wishes for Max to love and marry her. What results is a confusing mixture of comedy and romance. You won't want to stop listening to this audiobook til you get to the end! The narrators are excellent (and, in fact, I can truly understand how Anna falls in love with Max from his voice alone!) Loved this book!!!
Thanks to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for providing an advance review copy of this audiobook. My opinions are my own.
Anna has been cleaning Max’s house for 3 years and wished they were married.
When her wish comes true, they start and adventure, trying to undo the spell.
Most of the book is from Anna’s POV and the narator did a really good job.
I liked the story, the way they got to know each other and their chemistry. This is a combination of sweet, spicy and magical romance.
Also, the cover is gorgeous!
This is the 4th book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone.

I have absolutely enjoyed every single book that Sarah Ready has written over the last few years and was excited to be approved for Wished as an audiobook. Her books always have great narrators. While the female narrator was fantastic, I was absolutely stopped by the male narrator (totally didn't fit in my mind).
We follow Anna who makes a wish on a magical necklace in Max's Chateau, as she's cleaning it. Fun and magical things start to happen and we follow Anna and Max to see how it will all unfold. I enjoyed the story but at times it was the same things being repeated. Other times Max was so over the top it was hard to believe. Cute ending!
While I didn't love this book as I have her others it was still a fun book to read and I will jump to read her next book.
Thanks, to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.
Sarah Ready is an automatic read author for me. I love her books and writing. Another masterpiece. I have absolutely loved this series. (All can be read as standalone). The paranormal elements in each book are so well written! When reading the first book I was hesitant, but after finishing it, it became an absolute fav! This book is just the same. The story is easy to follow along with, even with everything going on. It is full of heart, plot, humor, and sadness. I was laughing the entire time. Anna's friend/boss was hilarious. I was able to get both the kindle and audio for this, so I listened while reading along. Max was so sweet and loving. It was so cute watching their relationship grow.
The audio was perfect as well. The narrator was perfect for Anna's voice. She also has a voice that is nice and easy to listen to. Not one that made me want to fall asleep lol.
Thank you, NetGalley and Sarah Ready for this ARC!
Thank you to Netgalley, Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC, and Sarah Ready for the chance to listen to this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
The newest and final installment of the Ghosted series is here- and Max Barrone finds his love. This is a wonderful follow up to Fated- in which he does NOT, in fact, get his girl.
Once again, Sarah Ready takes us on a magical realism adventure powered by a family heirloom. I enjoyed the journey between multiple wishes made by both our FMC and MMC to try to just get it right.
What I love about Sarah's magical realism is that both main characters are often in on the glitch. This feeds into killer communication and a huge lack of cringe when the 'secret' blows up. Love it.
While this is a series, I do believe all four books can be enjoyed as standalones.
This book was fabulous! It starts a little dry, but the characters slowly win your heart over!
I was surprised with how this book created a slow burn to a firey finish!
Rounded up from 3.5
Anna has been cleaning Max's chateau for three years, but he never really knew she existed. One day, she finds a necklace that seems magical and decides to make wish: to be married to him. And when her wish gets granted she should be elated... right?
This billionaire, opposites attract romance with magical realism is book 4 in the Ghosted series. I'm glad the author listened to the readers from reviews of the first 3 books in this series and made this one shorter, it made a world of difference! However, I felt like the pacing was a bit off. I'm also not so keen on the fact that the MMC is pining over someone else for a good chunk of the book? I feel like some things are left unexplained, but I enjoyed it over all.
I received an advance review copy of this book for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I have absolutely loved every one of the Ghosted series by Sarah Ready (as well as the Josh and Gemma books) and have listened to each on audio which I highly recommend. The latest addition to the series, Wished, brings back Max Barone, who was featured in Fated, and gives him the leading man role for Anna Benoit. As in all of her Ghosted series, Ms. Ready adds in a very healthy dose of magical realism, with a necklace that grants wishes.
Wished is a little convoluted, with several layers of wishes taking place, and a very grumpy Max who displays several different personalities throughout. I did not always understand what Anna's reasons for holding back were, as she was getting what she had wished for initially, and this caused me a little frustration as I listened. I was happy to see the ending was as I had hoped, though, and am looking forward to more in this series.
The audio version was excellent, with narration by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt. Ronconi's voice is perfect for Anna, and Watt's gives Max exact amount of upper class needed for the character. I highly recommend the audio versions of each of Sarah Ready's books, though earbuds are recommended due to the spice level of the novels!
Thank you to Netgalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the audio ARC of Wished by Sarah Ready. The opinions in this review are my own.
In Wished we follow Anna who cleans Max barone’s chateau for a living. As Max's housecleaner she has fantasies of the man she thinks he is by simply cleaning his home. You could learn a lot about someone by entering the most private areas of their home
The only issue is, he does even know she exists. Until Anna makes a wish on a magical necklace that they would be married.
Thank you netgalley and Sarah ready for the audiobook arc in exchange for an honest review.
So this was adorable and such a pleasant listen.
Anna is a cleaner in a chateau and max is the owner of the chateau.
After is drawn to a box and read the inscription she makes a wish. After pining after Max for 3 years she wishes for him to love her.
He catches her with a necklace in her procession just as she’s finished wishing and accuses her of stealing. She’s fired and sent on her way home.
After getting completely drunk and falling asleep that night she wakes up to an unfamiliar bed and realises her wish came true. Completely confused she runs to find max who is also aware something isn’t quite right.
Both find out quickly not everything you wish for is all it’s cracked up to be and together they try to put things right. While also developing a relationship.
This was so cute I have had the Arcs for the previous ones and feel this has defo been the better one of them.
It made me smile and laugh
Doreen is my fave character everyone need a crazy neighbour, boss and friend like her.

Yes this book was spicy to a degree!
Let's start with, I love the rags to riches story and the certain connotation of a cinderella like love story. HE (Max de Baron) is the owner of a jewellery company and a beautiful sprawling estate along the lake of Geneva.
SHE (Anna Benoit) has been his cleaning lady for the last three years and has fallen in love with him on day one. When she one day finds a necklace that supposedly grants wishes, she takes a leap of faith and is torn into the luxurious world of Max de Baron.
This book had such Hallmark movie vibes, that this instantly became one of my new comfort reads. Yes, Anna's anxiety about making the right choice by making that wish is quite annoying but also very understandable. She is looking for love that is reciprocated willingly, and not through magic.
It is a beautiful take on "be careful what you wish for" and yet it also shows, that there is nothing bad in being a little selfish for once. Especially for someone who has been so selfless their entire life. A truly remarkable take on love will conquer all.
Thank you to NetGalley and Swift and Lewis Publishing, LLC, for the advance listening copy in exchange for an honest review.
Listen. After Fated, I’m a Sarah Ready FAN. I was really excited to get Max’s love story … he deserved better than his lovestruck rejection in Fated. A really enjoyable story and the narrators were great. I wasn’t as invested as I was in the previous book, but still a good read nonetheless. Magical realism love stories is my favorite subgenre and Sarah Ready does NOT disappoint.

Even though this is book four of the series, I don’t feel like I was lost popping into this series. I think this book makes a great standalone book.
With that being said, I really enjoyed the plot of this book. However, I struggled a bit with the execution of the book because the pacing seemed off. Some pieces were long and then some were glazed over really quick. Then the surprisingly very steamy parts were very drawn out. This surprised me and I feel like the middle of the book lacked a plot since the book kind of turned into an erotica. This wasn’t what I was aiming for, I was hoping for more of a Rom-Com. This could definitely be a me problem.
Thanks NetGalley and publisher for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review!
