When Anna Benoit wishes she’s married to the enigmatic owner of the chateau she cleans, she wakes up in a topsy-turvy world where she’s Max Barone’s wife.

Thank you Swift & Lewis Publishing for making this book available as a Listen Now book on Netgalley! I decided to DNF this book at 61%. I liked the idea of a magical necklace granting wishes but I didn’t think Anna and Max had any chemistry at all so I wasn’t rooting for their relationship. I liked Anna but I didn’t like Max and as I was reading, I started thinking,”Why does she want to be with him? He’s an asshole.”

A different story but one that I really enjoyed, the narration is incredible. I think it was a great closing to this book series.

Wished is the fourth book in the Ghosted series but it can be read as a standalone.

This is my first book by Sarah Ready and it was a fun, lighthearted, cozy romance with a dash of magic. The premise is unique with a single wish creating an alternate reality for Anna and Max. I am not a fan of insta love so I did feel Anna's initial feelings for Max to be a bit rushed but it still made for a charming story.

@sarahreadyauthor 's writing is engaging and filled with heart, making it a joy to read. I loved seeing how Anna and Max's relationship blossomed when Anna's wish came true and the way everything plays out between them was truly magical.

All the chapters were narrated from Anna's perspective except the prologue and epilogue that were narrated from Max's Pov and I thought that was a lovely way to start and wrap things up leaving me with a nice warm feeling afterwards. Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt were great as narrators.

If you are in the mood for magical realism this fall, put this book on your list.

Ohhh, I enjoyed this one more than the last one in this series. Anna made a wish but then took it back when she realized it wasn't fair but ended up waking up being called Madam Baron. Anna was the maid for Max until there was a misunderstanding and she was fired. She remembers what happened but Max has no memory. When she wakes up and her world has turned upside down she shows up at Max's office barefoot and it turns out it is their 7th wedding anniversary. Everyone remembers it but them. They do set off to try and remedy their circumstance and what happens is finding out they have more in common than not. I will say it again, OH, I enjoyed this one. Make sure to read all the way to the end, it is so good!

Very much enjoyed this book! Anna who started as a housekeep makes a wish to be married to Max. They both wake up the next day to a new reality where these two strangers are married. I loved following along with the characters falling in love while living out the wish and loved how max who never wanted passion in a relationship falls head over heels with Anna. After Anna wishes to go back to life before the wish I did feel like their reunion was rushed and I would have enjoyed reading more about what Max went through when he woke up to Anna being gone. The plot of the story was cute and easy to get into. There were just a few details I thought had gaps and could have used some more details about Max and Anna and how they develop as characters.

A nice romantic story. The story is fun and takes you to destinations which the author describes beautifully. Very immersive and great character development. Lovely ending.

💭Wow, this book was such a delightful surprise! It weaves in a bit of magic without going full-on fantasy, which isn't usually my jam, but I'm so glad I picked it up. The story is absolutely charming, I was enchanted right from the start and totally fell in love with its magical vibe.

💕Anna and Max have such incredible chemistry. It's pretty instant, their connection is driven by a bit of wish-fulfillment magic. Anna, who made the initial wish, doesn’t remember the life where she and Max were married. Meanwhile, Max is living these parallel lives: in one, he doesn't know who Anna is, and in the other, he's hopelessly in love with her as his wife. It's such a cool and intriguing storyline as we slowly uncover this "other life" where they're happily married and figure out how it all came to be.

🪄I can't believe I've been sleeping on Sarah's books all this time! If I'd known they were this good, I would've dived into them ages ago. I'm definitely planning to read the rest of the series now. This story is so unique, the way this book blends fantasy, passion, longing, and emotional tension makes for a beautiful and unforgettable read!

The story mainly follows Anna’s perspective, and we only get Max's point of view in the prologue and epilogue, which I actually liked. To be honest, I'm not really into Will's English accent, so having less of it was a plus for me. But Amanda? She was phenomenal. She brought Anna’s personality to life and was spot-accent while performing other characters. thoroughly enjoyed every minute of her performance.

First, I would like to thank the author and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced listener copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Anna has been in unrequited love with the owner of the mansion that she has been cleaning for three years. To Max, Anna is invisible. As a child, she always dreamed of being a genie–of being able to grant the wishes of all her loved ones. When she finds a necklace believed to hold the power to grant a wish, she discovers that wishes do come true. She and Max wake up to a world where everyone else insists they have been married for years, even her own mother. Anna has everything she thought she wanted…but maybe wishes are more trouble than they’re worth.

Wished is the fourth book in Sarah Ready’s Ghosted series. This is my favorite book of hers so far! Anna is a sweet do-gooder, always going out of her way to help others or set things right. In contrast, Max is serious and brooding. Licking his wounds after his marriage proposal was turned down, he has little faith in people. The character development of Anna and minor characters such as her boss was great, but I felt Max’s character could have been explored more.

The audiobook is narrated by Will Watt and Amanda Ronconi. Will Watt narrates only the prologue and the epilogue as Max. His voice is extremely deep, and while he has a very nice voice, I felt the contrast between his voice and Amanda Ronconi’s was a bit harsh. This is especially true considering that it is not narrated as a duet, so Amanda Ronconi must lower her voice throughout the book to speak Max’s lines, and when Will Watt returns for the epilogue, it’s a bit jarring. Overall, the sound production was great and both actors are skilled in using the various regional accents in the book.

I love the touch of magic in this story, and I’m looking forward to reading the other books in this series!

Wished is the fourth book I’ve read in the Ghosted series and probably my least favorite. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but Anna was not my favorite character and the insta love was a bit too much. I did love the “make a wish and wake up in that world” aspect and of course loved the very descriptive settings and foods they consumed. I love Sarah Ready’s books because she transports you to another world full of romance, magic and deliciousness.

I can’t wait to see what she writes next. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ALC of Wished by Sarah Ready.

Grateful for NetGalley as this book would not have been on my radar otherwise. The prologue and epilogue narrated by Max are a nice touch.

I liked the originality of the plot, though not sure it was my kind of story. The romance went waaaay too fast… not asking for a slow burn but a little bit more build up would’ve been good!

I haven’t read the other books in the series but will definitely consider as overall it was a fun listen on my commute. I already have the French holiday by Sarah Ready on my bookshelf so excited to read that next.

I love books with this premise...wish for a different life and you wake up with your wish granted. This was a cute story, but I didn't realize it was #4 in a stand-alone series. I think I would have liked it more if I had read the other 3 books. I do recommend this for a cute and fun read.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ALC of Wished in exchange for an honest review.

I've read all of the books in the series so far and they've all been really good as long as you can suspend your disbelief and just follow along for the ride. I thought that the relationship in this developed so organically and I really liked how everything played out between them. I was initially a bit skeptical because the promise seemed a little far-fetched for my logical mind, but I ultimately really enjoyed it. The premise is very unique and the characters were very entertaining and relatable. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC | Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Audiobooks for this audiobook for review. This is the 4th book in the Ghosted series and I have read them all! You do not have to read them in order as they are loosely based on connected characters but are stand-alone books and can be enjoyed in any order. I really enjoyed this book as Anna is the cleaner in a chateau and is secretly in love with the owner, Max and then she wakes up married to him. It has a little magic like all the rest of the books and a little spice, so it is fun and a very easy read. I will continue to read these books as they are fun and light-hearted.

Wished is my first book by Sarah Ready but won't be my last! I "wish" I hadn't read/listened to this book first since it's last in this series but I'm definitely going to go back and to the beginning and get Ghosted, Switched and Fated cause this was just too much fun! Anna and Max are amazing together but is their love real?! You'll need to grab a copy of this to find out!

The narrator, Amanda Ronconi, did a wonderful job.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. Wished was such a fun love story. Sarah Ready is a must read author. Her books are filled with magic and romance. This is a grumpy sunshine troupe and I was here for it. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. A must read.

I have been having a lot of fun listening to this series and this one was probably one of my favorites.
I was excited that this was going to include Max from the previous book as I felt he deserved a love for his own. This book was just a cute fun read

OMG! This was such a fantastic romance read! I was madly in love with both Anna and Max. The story put a fresh spin on the classic tropes—fake relationship, enemies to lovers, and forced proximity—and I couldn’t get enough. The chemistry between the characters was electric, and I was hooked from start to finish. I’m now going to speed-read through Sarah Ready’s other books—I’m officially a true convert!

I was hesitant going into this book since dual-reality stories usually aren't my cup of tea, but it hooked me from the very first chapter. What made it stand out was having the MMC aware of the alternate reality, rather than being kept in the dark, which added an intriguing twist.

Anna is torn between two worlds--her reality of working for Max, and the false memories of being married to him for seven years. She's forced to make an impossible choice: pursue her own happiness or let Max go so he can have his.

I flew through the audiobook, thanks to the wonderful dual narration. I often found myself holding my breath with every decision Anna made. Wished is a beautifully magical story that will leave you believing in the power of true love.

“Tomorrow this may not be real. But its real today and I’ve always thought the best way to live, is in the moment”
So Anna’s world is turned tipsy turvy when she makes a wish. That wish is for Max Barone and her wish comes true. Well kinda.
Very lighthearted book. The characters are ell developed. Overall I loved the plot and the scene.

3.5 stars

I have listened to all four of the books in the Ghosted series and loved Ghosted (book one) and Switched (book two). Fated (book three) and now Wished (book four) just didn’t work for me. I didn’t get attached to the characters. All the books are standalones but are connected, with books one and two connected and then books three and four connected. The ideas of the stories I loved, but it just didn’t work for me. I think part of it might have been that the first two books dealt with the female protagonists having STEM careers, and are also a bit ‘nerdy’ where the next two did not.

In Wished, we have Anna who is in love with Max whose house she cleans. She comes across a family heirloom and makes a wish… And BOOM it comes true. I thought it would kind of be similar to the Jennifer Lopez movie Maid in Manhattan where the maid falls in love with the rich senate candidate. Can two people from totally different worlds fall in love and it actually work out? The family is a jewelry dynasty and we learn some about the ‘jewelry world’.

As I have said with my reviews of the previous books in the series: I just love these covers! The covers alone would have me pick these books up in a bookstore to see what they are about. I might even buy them because of these covers.

As with the other books in the series, this one also has spice to it. Spice lovers will enjoy it, but it was a bit too much for me! I am used to it now with this series.

The narrators were Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt. Watt did not work for me at all. The book starts with his narration, and when I started it I wasn’t sure I was going to continue. Luckily, he only narrates two chapters. Ronconi otherwise did a great job!

Overall, I just had some personal issues with the book. All books are not for everyone, but maybe if you like the premise and enjoy spice, you might enjoy it!

Many thanks to the publisher for making this series available for readers and listeners to read or listen and review on NetGalley!
