This series has me in a chokehold. Each one getting better and better that I cannot wait to see where the whole story is going. I am in love with everything about this series, the characters are always top notch, but the mythology, the slightly spooky, magical setting has me wishing I could jump on a plane and go there myself. This book in the series in particular has me reaching for the tissue more than the others because what is not tonlove about our heroine, and in the end, when a certain thing happened, I was bawling. This is a must read. I cannot wait until the next book.

I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I had read the whole series first, but overall I liked the story. Tricia O'Malley takes a lot of used up tropes and characters and turns them on their head. She makes them refreshing and new. Having a tough female lead who is a construction foreman sets that mood from the start. I did not connect thoroughly to any of the characters though, and the story itself didn't feel as fresh as the characters.
"Wild Scottish Fortune" by Tricia O'Malley is an enchanting addition to The Enchanted Highlands series. Narrated by Amy Landon and Will Watt, this audiobook beautifully combines romance, magic, and adventure, making it a captivating listen.
Landon and Watt's dual narration brings the characters to life, each delivering distinct voices that enhance the emotional depth of the story. Their performances draw you into the lush, immersive world O'Malley has created.
While the plot is engaging and filled with delightful twists, I recommend reading the series in order to fully appreciate the character dynamics and backstory. O'Malley's writing is rich and evocative, and this installment does not disappoint.
I’d rate this audiobook 4.25 out of 5 stars. It’s a fantastic continuation of the series that fans will thoroughly enjoy. Thank you to NetGalley for my copy; all opinions are my own!

I didn't realize how much I'd miss doing Tricia O'Malley's Wild Scottish Fortune as a standalone. I recommend starting with Wild Scottish Knight and going from there. I've read Wild Scottish Love, so thankfully I was still able to appreciate the magic and the fantasy O'Malley pours into this story.
The audio version of Wild Scottish Fortune is performed by Amy Landon and Will Watt.
I absolutely love this series. This addition wasn't my favorite, but it was still good. This was also the heaviest of the series so far and covered multiple heavy topics. I can't wait to read more in this series. The narrators are fantastic, especially Will Watt. His accent is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

A nice romance with Scottish folklore, and strong independent women. The aspects of social order and separation of classes were explored tastefully. The aspects of magic, and folklore added magic and enchantment to this romcom story. I liked the characters and felt connected with them. The voices changing in the audio helped sperate the two story lines nicely.
Such a cozy read! This is such a good series to read during spooky season but even through out the year. There are some funny moments in the story that will have you giggling.
Just like in previous books we met a beautiful woman with magic they either didn’t think was magic or knew that they did things others couldn’t.
Orla is such a sweet and caring person. However she protects her heart, mind and soul at all cost. She can see things others can’t ( don’t want to spoil the book) and this can be both a bad or good thing depending on the situation. When She meets Finlay she thinks she knows the type of man he is but soon finds out he doesn’t fit that mold. Finlay is sweet in his own right as while. He has trauma from his past that has made him guarded as well.
These two together is so cute both are shy in their own ways. But they can’t stop the pull to the other.
If you like cozy magical stories this is the series to jump into.
This is such a good series and this one with opposites attract (dang woman, just leave me alone) vibes is as good as the novels that have come before. I have seen some put this novel in the romansty genre but that’s not the case. Paranormal elements ? yes , but it is not a paranormal love story and not fantasy at all.
The audio version portrayed the dual POVs very well.
This book is lighthearted and cute- just like the rest of the series. These are fun and unique in their own way, though this one may have been my favorite so far. Plus, the ghost coo which makes me laugh and I just love it so much. The audiobook version has great accents too!
This latest installment in the Enchanted Highlands series was entertaining, though not as engaging as the other one that I listened to last spring (#4). A builder, who becomes the latest member of the Order of Caledonia, falls in love with the director of a project she's working on. They run into obstacles as they discover just how different they are, but bond over the feelings they have for one another. The chemistry was just OK between these characters...lots of spice, though. Great narration once again.
Fantasy novels, always a great way to distract the mind and escape reality for a while!
I have not read her other books, just jumped right in. Now I must look for the others in the series!
I enjoyed this book. It's the first book by this author I have read before. I gave off cosy vibes which I'm here for. I would have liked more development between Orla and Fin, more of them dating, getting to know each other and working together.
I felt like I was missing something with the Order, what it does and what it's about.
I loved Orla as a character, she's so down to earth, likeable, with a strong business ethic. I also love how she grew throughout this book and found her family.
I will definitely be going back through this series and catching up on other characters.
Loved the real Scottish narration, it was perfect in bringing these characters to life.
Thank you to netgalley for ALC!
Author Tricia O’Malley continues The Enchanted Highlands series with this book 6 of 7, delighting readers with a fun and intense read. Previous characters from the past five books are a part of this book creating a diverse lineup for the unusual storyline.
The portrayal of Orla as a strong no-nonsense woman who is a survivor, strong, smart and caring delights this reader. Her struggles with everything are honest and feel real.
Finlay gets scared in the very beginning of the story setting the tone for the rest of the storyline where both Finlay and Orla struggle to let go of the past and create a future. Their interactions keep the plot moving forward with interesting events keeping the reader interested in what happens next.
The plot adds a more intense evil than the other books and the creator of the evil will surprise the reader like it did me. Though it shocked me it was really well done and the ending of this book was unexpected and expected.

📚 This is book 6 in The Enchanted Highlands series, all standalones. This is about Orla and Fin, and low an behold, just like the rest, it was swoon worthy 😍 Orla has had ghosts follow her moat of her life and, well, its made her a tad strange and highly anxious/introverted. Whereas, Fin has some serious goals and passions he wants to achieve and is focused on getting it done... but of course, Orla is the one he needs to do the work 😏 Set in a small Scottish town, and some weird things happening, afin becomes drawn to Orla *swoon*. We all know this story, the romantic, feet kicking one -- not the random witchy vibes, but we love them all the same.
I'm always easily sold on a witchy cosy romance ✨️
❤️ Forced proximity
❤️ Small town
❤️ Confident MMC
❤️ Introverted FMC
❤️ Witchy/Gothicy Cosy Romance
❤️ Scottish Folk Lore
❤️ Ghoulish secrets
🎧 The audio was great! Zero complaints. I would suggest using different narrators from previous standalones in the same series when portraying different characters. This can be jarring to the listener. But, otherwise, no issues.
🎙 The narrators are wonderful! As always, brilliant work 👏 👍 👌 I love me a Scottish man 🥵
I absolutely love this series and Orla and Finn’s story is just as good as the others.
My only feedback is maybe change up the narrators? It’s hard to stay in the series with the same people voicing all the characters.
Despite that if you’re looking for a new series to get invested in you should start this one!
Tricia does it again with this series and the audio was just phenomenal to go along with it. Every book keeps getting better and just the lore makes you really feel something and a connection to the characters and the setting. It's set so beautifully and told so well. there's fantastic build up and chemistry and beautifully told.
A beautiful story about finding your way: Orla's life has been anything but easy, but she is finally in a good spot. She owns her own company and has a home for the first time in her life that she can remember. The one thing she doesn't have? Love and family, but that is all about to change! Enter Finlay, the handsome man she must work with during her building company's latest project. Just one problem is that standing in the way of an easy completion, a ghost is haunting one of the buildings. Orla has always seen ghosts but never thought that made her unique. Oh, how wrong she was. She is exceptional and worthy of love, and her life will be turned upside down in a few short weeks.
A Wild Scottish Fortune is a beautiful and moving story about overcoming the odds stacked against you and coming out strong. It's a novel about finding family, self-discovery, and learning to love and accept yourself for who you are. With a sweet romance built in! Finlay is the dashingly handsome, loyal-to-a-fault man we all wish would fall for us! The narrator of the audiobook's Scottish accent is captivating and had me hanging on every word, waiting to see what would happen next!
'Amy Landon and Will Watt hit the nail on the head in Tricia O'Malley's latest release in her 'Enchanted Highlands', Wild Scottish Fortune. Five gold stars for them, Tricia and Goldie!' - The British Bibliophile
I knew the second I had finished the last minute of the previous book in the series, Wild Scottish Beauty, that I would be on the hunt and working my fingers as hard as they would go to sign up for the next advanced audiobook copy. Will and Amy were a magical pairing for that story and its lead characters and seeing their names on the next one made it a no-brainer that I had to consume this audible adventure, too.
If you'd like to hear what I had to say about the story's ebook/paperback counterpart, please head on over to my Goodreads review under the title listing. Where what I feel about the story--in terms of its content--didn't change from one format to another, there is more detail about the story in that review. If you'd like to heat what I have to say about the narrated version of the story, please continue reading. Here I will focus on the elements unique to the audiobook and its narration.
For Wild Scottish Fortune, we've been treated to another dual narration audiobook. This means that each narrator takes turns reading their characters' chapter, putting on the voice of the other main character while in their own. For example, Amy reads Orla's characters but puts on her 'Finlay voice' for his speaking parts in her chapters. This is sometimes confused with 'duet narration', which means each narrator speaks in their characters' parts only. Will and Amy nailed the parts of Willow and Ramsay in the previous audiobook, in my opinion. Would this now be the case here with two sets of new main characters? Read on to find out.
Will Watt steps into new--and polished--shoes here as Finlay Thompson. A Scot so posh, he could almost class as a Brit. Floored with his performance formerly as Ramsay, I found myself genuinely impressed at the clear distinction between the two, dominating males. Despite being narrated by the same narrator, each had their own clear voice and personality which led me to appreciate Will's talents even more. Especially with the ever-so-slight change in the tone of his Scottish accent to lend itself to Finlay's character from that of Ramsay's. The two main male characters can clearly be told apart, which is worthy of its own round of applause. The right man was once again chosen for this job in ways I have just praised for, and ones I have to keep to myself for fear of making more than one set of cheeks blush.
Amy Landon was a new-ish narrator to me from the previous audiobook in this series, having not listened to much of her work before this. Listening to her then and with the addition of this audiobook were both chances to change that and become more familiar with her style, performances and find her signature element that made her stand out. She was incredible as Willow, but I found a new appreciation for her as the powerhouse that was Orla Clarke. The key word from that being 'power'. The power of Orla's character came through clear as crystal from Amy's narration. We all love a strong female main character, and she gave us several moments to be proud of the character written by Tricia to be brought to life through our ears here.
Just over eight hours flew by in no time, partly thanks to the enchanting narration by both narrators, the story crafted by the author, and the flow that carried you effortlessly from one chapter through to the next. This audiobook was the perfect companion to carry me through three days--listening a little each day-- of listening bliss. I have since finishing it the first time, returned to it and replayed several of my favourite parts I bookmarked throughout.
Thank you to all involved in this audiobook's creation and production. Hard work has paid off once more and I'm thrilled that this audiobook is one that I am going to be recommending to my friends, followers and beloved authors not only in this year, but for the foreseeable.
This lovely book just wasn't for me. I am just not in the right mindset for something so romantic and beautiful. I love the narration.
Wild Scottish Fortune by Tricia O’Malley This is part 6 of the Enchanted Highlands Series
Wild Scottish Fortune is an interesting Scottish romance loaded with magic and mystery. I listened to the audiobook version of this and found the accents very charming. Amy Landon and Will Watt do a great job setting the mood, quickly drawing you in. Normally I listen to a book at 2x the speed, with this I had to do 1.25 to 1.5 as the accents are thick, especially the male narrator, and I feared missing something if I listened faster.
The story had a lot going on and I enjoyed the banter between Orla and Findlay. Orla isn’t your typical lass. She’s a contractor, an an extremely talented one at that, in a predominantly male dominated industry. But moving here has also opened up her magical possibilities as well. Not a trusting person, she goes slowly with her relationships, feeling that she is always left behind.
I liked Findlay. He was sweet and kind. The way he saw her from the beginning was refreshing.
This was definitely a cute magical romance and an easy read.
