I absolutely love this series and Orla and Finn’s story is just as good as the others.
My only feedback is maybe change up the narrators? It’s hard to stay in the series with the same people voicing all the characters.
Despite that if you’re looking for a new series to get invested in you should start this one!

Tricia does it again with this series and the audio was just phenomenal to go along with it. Every book keeps getting better and just the lore makes you really feel something and a connection to the characters and the setting. It's set so beautifully and told so well. there's fantastic build up and chemistry and beautifully told.

A beautiful story about finding your way: Orla's life has been anything but easy, but she is finally in a good spot. She owns her own company and has a home for the first time in her life that she can remember. The one thing she doesn't have? Love and family, but that is all about to change! Enter Finlay, the handsome man she must work with during her building company's latest project. Just one problem is that standing in the way of an easy completion, a ghost is haunting one of the buildings. Orla has always seen ghosts but never thought that made her unique. Oh, how wrong she was. She is exceptional and worthy of love, and her life will be turned upside down in a few short weeks.

A Wild Scottish Fortune is a beautiful and moving story about overcoming the odds stacked against you and coming out strong. It's a novel about finding family, self-discovery, and learning to love and accept yourself for who you are. With a sweet romance built in! Finlay is the dashingly handsome, loyal-to-a-fault man we all wish would fall for us! The narrator of the audiobook's Scottish accent is captivating and had me hanging on every word, waiting to see what would happen next!

'Amy Landon and Will Watt hit the nail on the head in Tricia O'Malley's latest release in her 'Enchanted Highlands', Wild Scottish Fortune. Five gold stars for them, Tricia and Goldie!' - The British Bibliophile

I knew the second I had finished the last minute of the previous book in the series, Wild Scottish Beauty, that I would be on the hunt and working my fingers as hard as they would go to sign up for the next advanced audiobook copy. Will and Amy were a magical pairing for that story and its lead characters and seeing their names on the next one made it a no-brainer that I had to consume this audible adventure, too.

If you'd like to hear what I had to say about the story's ebook/paperback counterpart, please head on over to my Goodreads review under the title listing. Where what I feel about the story--in terms of its content--didn't change from one format to another, there is more detail about the story in that review. If you'd like to heat what I have to say about the narrated version of the story, please continue reading. Here I will focus on the elements unique to the audiobook and its narration.

For Wild Scottish Fortune, we've been treated to another dual narration audiobook. This means that each narrator takes turns reading their characters' chapter, putting on the voice of the other main character while in their own. For example, Amy reads Orla's characters but puts on her 'Finlay voice' for his speaking parts in her chapters. This is sometimes confused with 'duet narration', which means each narrator speaks in their characters' parts only. Will and Amy nailed the parts of Willow and Ramsay in the previous audiobook, in my opinion. Would this now be the case here with two sets of new main characters? Read on to find out.

Will Watt steps into new--and polished--shoes here as Finlay Thompson. A Scot so posh, he could almost class as a Brit. Floored with his performance formerly as Ramsay, I found myself genuinely impressed at the clear distinction between the two, dominating males. Despite being narrated by the same narrator, each had their own clear voice and personality which led me to appreciate Will's talents even more. Especially with the ever-so-slight change in the tone of his Scottish accent to lend itself to Finlay's character from that of Ramsay's. The two main male characters can clearly be told apart, which is worthy of its own round of applause. The right man was once again chosen for this job in ways I have just praised for, and ones I have to keep to myself for fear of making more than one set of cheeks blush.

Amy Landon was a new-ish narrator to me from the previous audiobook in this series, having not listened to much of her work before this. Listening to her then and with the addition of this audiobook were both chances to change that and become more familiar with her style, performances and find her signature element that made her stand out. She was incredible as Willow, but I found a new appreciation for her as the powerhouse that was Orla Clarke. The key word from that being 'power'. The power of Orla's character came through clear as crystal from Amy's narration. We all love a strong female main character, and she gave us several moments to be proud of the character written by Tricia to be brought to life through our ears here.

Just over eight hours flew by in no time, partly thanks to the enchanting narration by both narrators, the story crafted by the author, and the flow that carried you effortlessly from one chapter through to the next. This audiobook was the perfect companion to carry me through three days--listening a little each day-- of listening bliss. I have since finishing it the first time, returned to it and replayed several of my favourite parts I bookmarked throughout.

Thank you to all involved in this audiobook's creation and production. Hard work has paid off once more and I'm thrilled that this audiobook is one that I am going to be recommending to my friends, followers and beloved authors not only in this year, but for the foreseeable.

Wild Scottish Fortune by Tricia O’Malley This is part 6 of the Enchanted Highlands Series

Wild Scottish Fortune is an interesting Scottish romance loaded with magic and mystery. I listened to the audiobook version of this and found the accents very charming. Amy Landon and Will Watt do a great job setting the mood, quickly drawing you in. Normally I listen to a book at 2x the speed, with this I had to do 1.25 to 1.5 as the accents are thick, especially the male narrator, and I feared missing something if I listened faster.

The story had a lot going on and I enjoyed the banter between Orla and Findlay. Orla isn’t your typical lass. She’s a contractor, an an extremely talented one at that, in a predominantly male dominated industry. But moving here has also opened up her magical possibilities as well. Not a trusting person, she goes slowly with her relationships, feeling that she is always left behind.

I liked Findlay. He was sweet and kind. The way he saw her from the beginning was refreshing.

This was definitely a cute magical romance and an easy read.

A return to the enchanted highlands of Scotland and the quaint highland town of Loren Brae for another magical tale from Tricia O’Malley with Wild Scottish Fortune. The story of artisan builder Orla Clarke, a girl who came from nothing, growing up on the streets. Fate has drawn her to the town where she meets Finlay Thompson, a man who despite himself, is intrigued by Orla who is just as determined to keep him at arms length. Their romance was very much a slow burner as the wily Finley finagled her into friendship even though he wanted more right from the start. But Orla has secrets and with his trust issues, what will discovering this do to their burgeoning relationship?

I loved the whole found family trope as the solitary Orla found out that she wasn’t the only person to speak to ghosts, she had magick running through her veins and before she knew what was happening she’d been inducted into the Order of Caledonia, whose job was to protect the town from the sea kelpies who live in Loch Mirren…..oh and she gained the friendship of the several women already in the order in the process. As with the rest of this series there are undertones of the paranormal/supernatural in this cosy read as two characters with little reason to trust decide to take a chance on each other. I loved the all the quirky and whimsical touches such as kelpies and gnomes called Gnorman & Gnora (the ‘G’ is silent), Goldie the goldfish and not forgetting a certain ghostly ‘hielan coo’ called Clyde who was as giddy as a toddler hyped up on sugar but made me laugh with his glee at scaring someone.

Amy Landon and Will Watt were both new to me narrators before this audiobook and while both produced credible Scottish accents for their performances as Orla and Finlay, Amy especially did slip several times, and I heard a distinct American twang as the story progressed. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it spoilt my listen, but I did find myself listening out for these lapses.

This was a delightful, easy listen. Great for a commute or cleaning the house. That is when I listen to most of my audiobooks! There was not a whole lot of angst and the magical aspect added a fun twist. This is the second in this series that I have listened to and I am continuing to enjoy this series. The narrators, Amy Landon and Will Watt were fabulous. They did such a great job with all the different characters and accents. However, I would listen to Will Watt read my grocery list. Actually, Will, could you? It would make grocery shopping more exciting! However there did feel like there was a bit of a speed difference between the two narrators.

Big thanks to Tricia O'Malley, Dreamscape Select and NetGalley for an early release copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Wild Scottish Fortune is a fun light-hearted addition to Tricia O'Malley's Enchanted Highlands series. It is the sixth book in the series, which seems to get better as the series progresses. This story focuses on master builder Orla Clarke, who grew up an orphan in Edinburgh. She is hired by the owner of Common Gin to rebuild their distillery near Lorna Brae. Not only is Orla an architectural wizard, but she can also see ghosts of spirits who failed to move on to the next life.

I listened to the audiobook version of this story narrated by Amy Landon and Will Watt. It is a wonderful mix of various accents and heavy Scottish brogue, which I adored. Like other books in the series, Orla is immediately attracted to her eventual soul-mate, even if it appears to be the impeccably dressed, uptight, and snobbish Finlay Thompson who is the director of the distillery project. The townsfolk are charming, as is the ghost of the castle Highland cow. It was also extremely enjoyable to see other couples from the previous books in the series make their appearances. This is a great Fall listen and I recommend it to anyone looking for a little escapism.

This book wasn't for me. It's not bad, but it didn't wow me either. The narrators were great. Amy Landon and Will Watt both narrate, which makes it easy to differentiate between the change in chapters. I did enjoy it being set in Scotland.

Whenever I read a Trisha O'Malley book, or listen to it in this instance, it always feels like a gigantic warm hug. I know that I'm in for a big thwack in the feelings and even more exciting, that I'm in for a big dose of sisterhood love.

The other books in this series always filled me with joy and I loved the fact that they are all so different too. Different tropes, personalities and focuses. I loved the humour and heart of the previous books and also how this one deals with some tragic topics.

I think Finlay is my favourite male up to this point as I love his thoughtfulness, care and gentleness. Orla has a tragic past and he doesn't push her to go faster or attempt anything that she is not ready for.

As with the previous, I'm in love with the Agnes/Graham situation, I think Clyde is a gigantic sweetheart and beautifully kind in this book and love the familiars.

I thought that when Trisha mentioned a surprise in this book that we were finally going to see Gragnes be a thing... but no. The surprise is the guest appearance of one of her Tequila Key characters, Miss Elva (Spell check?!) It was lovely to see both worlds mege together so seamlessly

A cracking book for the next in the series.
Thanks so much to Netgalley, Trisha O'Malley and Dreamscape Select for a copy of this audiobook to listen to. All opinions are my own.

Wild Scottish Fortune is part of a series, but can definitely be read alone. This is the first book in the series I’ve read 🎧and was able to enjoy the storyline without feeling lost. Definitely will go back and start with the first book so I can get a bit more background on the side characters. The audiobook is done in a duel narration. Amy Landon and Will Watt did a fantastic job switching between all the different characters and bringing the story to life in a captivating way.

WSF is give cozy witchy cottage vibes and is perfect for a fall read. I fell in love with Orla and Finlay budding romance in this book, especially their banter. Fin completely charmed my socks off with steadfastness, little possessive and persistence in his pursuit of Orla. (Can’t forget how he put his mother in her place not only for himself but her treatment of Orla)💋.

This is my first book by this author and I didn't know that is the part od series. But it was such a cute audio book. The voice actors chosen really brought the characters to life. Orla comes from a poor background, and now owns and runs her own construction business. Finley however comes from a posh background and works for Monroe. Both have dark pasts to overcome.Perfect for the fall. This book was a fun read for someone looking for a light romance with a little spice.
Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this title.

Wow. This series has quickly become one of my favorites. I am going to be honest when I got to review this book I went on a binge and listened to all the books in the series first within the last two days. This story was nothing short of perfect. Often times when you have characters that come from different backgrounds the author has them kinda give in and this was not the case. They were working on themselves the whole book I loved that the main man did the research to actually understand what she had been through and certain things that would be harder for her. I loved that a proper charity happened not just one as a front. The development the realizations everything just felt like it was natural to the story and not forced. I can’t wait until the next book comes out. The narrators are also amazing and perfect to fit with the story.

Apparently this is part of a series, but can definitely be read alone!

Meet Orla Clarke. She’s an orphan. She’s a builder (Pint sized, but very good at what she does!) … and, she doesn’t take ‘shite’ from anyone!! 🤣
She also harbors some secrets…I guess you can say they’re dark. 🫣😬
She’s forming new friendships as we go, but really has no family…except of course for Goldie! 😊

Meet Finlay Thompson. He’s managing the rebuild of the buildout of the distillery that Orla is in charge of. He’s handsome, rugged, and as far as Orla can see, very ‘privileged’. You can clearly see he comes from money, and dresses inappropriately for their meetings on the construction site.
And their first meeting? One for the books!!

So when these two meet, well… fire and ice!

Loved ALL of the characters and their interactions and play!
Loved the sweetness of this one…
Loved The Green Lady and Harris too!
Loved how the Magicks are interwoven throughout the story!!
And, loved the wrap up!!

4 bright beautiful ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!

Wild Irish Fortune by Tricia O’Malley
The Enchanted Highlands series #6. Paranormal Scottish romance. Alternating POV. Can be read as a stand-alone but best read in series order as The Order expands.
Orla Clarke is a master builder working on the newest distillery in Loren Brea. She also sees ghosts and that’s why she’s been called to the town. Having grown up in an orphanage, she has learned to rely only on herself. The ghosts may be plentiful but they always want something and she can’t always help.
Finlay Thompson is the director of the distillery project. He loves the old stone building and believes it’s the perfect place for making the gin. Betrayed by family and past relationships, he’s not interested in any new relationships. But with strange things happening around the town of Loren Brae and Orla somehow in the middle of it, he’s intrigued with her and can’t help getting closer.

🎧 I listened to an audiobook narrated by Amy Landon and Will Watt who have done the full series. An excellent performance with specific voices, accents and clear emotions from each in their chapters. Unlike the prior books with mixed country accents, this book’s main characters are relatively local, so the full audio is in a Scottish accent which had me slowing my usual listening rate of 1.5 down a bit to 1.3 to better follow the story. That’s definitely not how I would have heard it in my head if reading an ebook which makes the audiobook all that more enjoyable. The accents, the joy of hearing them falling in love, the humor of the ghost coo and a thousand other small details, makes this audiobook pure happiness to listen to.

The Order of Caledonia strikes again, pulling in another magical guardian. Lots of humor and unlikely events, but it’s ghosts and romance in Scotland, so why not? The ghost coo is hilarious as usual even if he’s making a pest of himself. And it’s the ghosts that start off this romance so while it can be too much for Orla, she’ll have Finlay to help as well as the rest of the friendships of the Order.
Thoroughly enjoyable. Love this series even though it’s a lot outrageous in a romancy way.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.
