Wild Scottish Fortune is Enchanted Highlands book 6 by Tricia O’Malley. Petite Orla Clarke is a force to be reckoned with. She has her own construction company and has been engaged by both Ramsay MacMillan to rebuild his kilt business after a fire destroyed it, and by Monroe Curaigh to build the new facility for Common Gin.

Orla has not led a particularly happy life. Orphaned young and fighting for absolutely everything that has come her way, one thing that has remained with her always is the spirit of the green lady. While seeing ghosts isn’t something that troubles Orla, she certainly understands that others might feel otherwise.

Finlay Thompson is facilities manager for Monroe as well as a good friend. In fact, he is supervising the new build. When Finlay meets Orla, however, he has enough trouble managing himself. Through a combination of mishaps, including a misguided offer for a gala date, Finlay begins to breech Orla’s defenses. However, Finlay doesn’t know that during this period of time Orla has discovered some very surprising information of her own and the changes that this will bring, especially when Orla encounters a very angry ancestor who is causing mayhem in one of the outbuildings on the Common Gin property.

This is a wonderfully told story adding to this delightful series. The characters are very well fleshed out. The mystical setting captures the imagination. This is a very well written addition to the series. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!

This book is such a cute, quick, and witchy book perfect for the fall. This book was a fun read for someone looking for a light romance with a little spice. Since I listened to the book, I did want to mention that the accents could be a little difficult to understand at times but once I was adjusted, it really added to the immersion in the story over reading the book. I also found this story very comforting and cozy, which is a pretty rare experience for me. I haven't read the other books in this series but this experience makes me want to pick them up.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for and advanced copy in return for an honest review.

I have already read the physical book but I also love listening to the audio to bring the story to life even more. As usual both narrators did amazing with keeping my attention even after recently finish the book! The female and male narrators brought these characters to life and make you want to finish the audiobook in one sitting !

This is the first book in the series I have read. I was given an advanced copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. So here we go!

This book surprised me in a very good way. I think since I didn't know there was a paranormal aspect to it, I wasn't expecting there to be ghosts and witches, but it was the perfect book for me in this moment. I am very much a mood reader and getting to have a bit of spooky vibes really made my day.

Now, onto the characters. Orla was a total badass and I love her. She always stuck to her plans, but was so kind and caring. She has her own construction business for pete's sake! And Finn is a cutie patootie. He is the ultimate golden retriever boyfriend who just wants Orla to love him and to be happy. I loved the depth of the two characters and their individual struggles which they ultimately will support each other on. (We love a healthy relationship). And their connection seemed genuine to me.

The story all around was so much fun. It had great pacing and I am happy with the novel as a whole. The ghosts were all cool to interact with (especially Clyde). The magic system was well thought out, and I can't wait to read the rest of the books to really get into it.

The narrators of the audiobook did a great job. Their pacing was phenomenal, as was their overall voice work. It took a chapter for me to get used to the Scottish accents, but once I did, I felt totally immersed in the story.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book, whether you read it or listen to it. It is a fun read!

Wild Scottish Fortune AUDIO by Tricia O’Malley is a Scottish romance with a little magic thrown in, well primarily a kitchen witch. Orla Clarke who is also a woman who survived an impoverished childhood to rise to owning her own contracting firm. She is rebuilding the quilt shop which burned and is also building Common Girls newest brewery. Enter Finlay Thompson, who the heading the brewery project. Fin has decided he likes Loren Brae and has bought a house. He hopes someday Orla will live there with him, but the romance is slow going. There is plenty of attraction, but Orla is shy: everyone always leaves and she is not ready to open her heart to someone else who might leave. There are plenty of amusing complications along the way.

Orla is a great character: her childhood years have marked her in a bold way. She likes people but doesn’t want to get too close. She is the same with animals: she volunteers at the pet shelter but refuses to take one home, telling herself it wouldn’t be fair as she works so much. She opens herself up to Fin who has had a life as opposite hers as possible, except for the fact his father left and that has left on indelible mark on his heart. O’Malley has made both this characters likable, understandable, and sympathetic. When Orla discovers her gift of helping ghosts make their way into the beyond and she joins the Order of Caledonia, she has friends for the first time ever. It is a moving experience. This book is perfect for romance readers.

The narrators are Amy Landon and Will Watt, who are both excellent. In the beginning, their heavy accent, especially Will’s, impede understanding, but one quickly becomes accustomed and veers forward. They have the perfect voices for these two characters!

This is the sixth novel in Tricia O'Malley’s The Enchanted Highlands series of magical romantic comedy. The series is set in the magical small Scottish village of Loren Brae, home to likable humans and mythological creatures. This story could be enjoyed on its own, but I think it will be more enjoyable if you have read some of the previous books introducing Loren Brae’s residents and magic.

Our female lead Orla was easy to like. She grew up an orphan, able to see ghosts, and at the start of the story, she is a successful businesswoman who owns and runs her own construction company. Our male lead Finlay grew up with more financial resources but difficulty with his parents. He’s also a successful businessperson, and director of Orla’s latest construction project. As they work together, these two develop an attraction despite their many differences. Although he doesn’t always get it right, Fin really cares for Orla, stands up for her, and makes some very sweet gestures, but he’s really going to have to work at it to win her over.

This was a fun story and a good choice for those looking for a cozy read with spooky elements. I enjoyed watching the romance develop, but I especially enjoyed the friendships, the magic and mythology, and the ghosts, familiars, and animal companions.

The audiobook production was excellent, and I enjoyed the duel narration by Amy Landon for Orla’s point of view and Will Watt for Finlay’s point of view. Both narrators have pleasant voices, good pacing, great accents, and are able to convey humor and emotion effectively. I recommend the audiobook for those who enjoy humorous magical romances (although be aware that it is occasionally not safe for work or children).

I received a free copy of the audiobook through NetGalley. I volunteered to provide an honest review.

The narration for Wild Scottish Fortune is an expertly crafted dual narration. Highly recommend giving this audiobook a try. Amy Landon brings our strong, fiercely independent Orla to life. As our FMC is Scottish, most of the narration has a beautiful Scottish accent. However, she seemlessly transitions accents to match characters within her chapters. Her work definitely brought something special to O'Malley's writing. Meanwhile, Will Watt took over Finlay's chapters with his swoon worthy Scottish accent. Try not to fall in love.

O'malley, as always, created a fun and heartwarming story and romance nestled in the modern world sprinkled with fantasy. Orla's past has taught her not to rely on others and built herself up from nothing. She has always had a connection to the paranormal, but now she realizes those powers connect her to the Order of Caledonia, and we follow along as she builds bonds with other women in the order. But her bonds do not stop there. We are introduced to our MMC Finlay who is nothing but a gentleman throughout. He has patience and grace with Orla as she learns to break down her walls. Despite a short lived 3rd act conflict. These two melted my heart!

Thank you for providing me with an ARC of this story.

Another fun continuation to the enchanted Highland Series. Orla is a great female lead, who you can’t help but root for. The addition of her magic to the order was interesting, and I honestly found myself more invested in her character than the love story in this one. I’m intrigued to see how it all culminates when the order is completed! As an audiobook I think the series is even more fun, because I just can’t get those accents right on my own, and the two narrators are great. Thanks to NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

The narrators in the audiobook version of Wild Scottish Fortune were excellent, but the male actor's voice made me think of Dracula during his scenes! Despite that, I enjoyed this book. The world-building, characters, conflict, and banter among the girls were all entertaining. I could visualize the settings and had a great time with this reading/listening experience.

Orla's difficult background made her very cautious and she kept everyone at arm's length. When she let Fin into her life, it was a very sweet moment. However, as the story progressed, his selfish behavior frustrated me. He kept secrets but was upset with her for keeping hers... How nerve-wracking! He did redeem himself in the end.

This is my first time experiencing Tricia O'Malley's work, and I plan to go back and start from the beginning of this series. It was a lovely and cozy read/listen.

I want to thank Netgalley, Dreamscape Select, Lovewrite Publishing, and Tricia O'Malley for providing the Advanced Listening Copy of Wild Scottish Fortune in exchange for my honest voluntary review.

This is such a lovely read. This book is everything a cozy fantasy needs. I loved all the supernatural things weaved into the story, as well as the setting of this book. The main characters are just darling, and double POV worked really well for me here. One picked up right where the other left off. This book uncovers the topics of trust, finding and believing in oneself and letting others to care and love you as well. All those were beautifully executed. I thoroughly enjoyed the romance, the build-up was great as well. It was overall a very nice, quirky read.
The narrators Amy Landon and Will Watt did a very good job giving voices to the main characters.

It is the first book in this series that I read, but the books are not tightly coupled by the plot or characters it worked out just fine. Hope to pick up some others from this series as well some time soon.

I adored this book! I loved learning about Orla and seeing her really come into the strength that she's always had with her. I thought that her backstory was very well written, along with great social commentary that strengthened the reader's emotional relationship to Orla. One thing that I wasn't sure about at first but came to love was that the first half (or so) of this book is focused on Orla discovering where she belongs, finding friends, and finding herself. It wasn't until the second half that her relationship with Finaly developed.

Review posted to Goodreads 9/9, posted to evelynlainebooks on Instagram around 9/12.

4.5⭐️s. Yup, she did it again. Cute, cozy, fantasy with found family, a strong independent woman, magic, Clyde (if you know, you know 🐮👻). I think Orla is my favorite character so far. But I’m intrigued to see if the FMC in Wild Scottish Gold, coming April 2025, will beat her. You can read Wild Scottish Fortune on Kindle Unlimited now. The audiobook will be available September 16th.

Speaking of audio. Another amazing narration by amyjlou and @willmwatt. They both really make you feel immersed in the world of Finlay and Orla as well as the other characters. Loved them in Wild Scottish Beauty too.

Orla is a well respected master builder. And she worked hard for it. She has the best team on her side. Oh, did I mention she can also see ghosts. Finley is the director over Orla’s newest project for Common Gin. He’s been burned by his family and throws himself into work. But Orla has a way about her that he can’t seem to ignore. She too has built walls around herself due to past hurt. As they work together, their attraction grows. Can Orla move past her abandonment issues, and Finley trust her when he finds out about her secret of seeing ghosts?

Tricia O’Malley is a new author for me this year. I’ve been hooked on her Enchanted Highlands series from the very start. I’ve listened to all so far on audio and I absolutely love that the same narrator’s have narrated them all. They are both so engaging and they do well with the Scottish accents, which isn’t easy.

In this instalment we follow Finley and Orla. Finley is director of the Distillery project whilst Orla is master builder and constructor of making the build happen. She also happens to see Ghosts, so she is then drawn into the Order
Of Caledonian (like our previous heroines) to help protect the beautiful Loren Brae.
Another fun, sweet, mystical read and I can’t wait for the next one!

Justice for Clyde! How rude of him to have a scare per day limit!
I loved this book as I was sure I would. I think Trisha did an especially good job with Orla’s aversion to touch. I think it was handled really accurately, as someone who is also touch averse! This series is such a cozy escap and I look forward to each one!

Tricia O'Malley can do no wrong with me! The series is everything that you could ever need in a series. And they just keep getting better as the couples go and the order fills up. I think this one might be my favorite of the series (I know I say that every time). I think that my fave part of this one is Orla's magic, and her development as a character. Orla's past is heartbreaking and complicated and I really appreciated the way that this was navigated in the story. Some of the advice she got from her green lady and the people around her really hit home for me. It's really not often that I come across a book that gives me pause over my own life in such a lovely way. Finny was well he was a delight. His love for Orla was palpable and the way that he stepped up and stood up for her was everything. It was fun to get to see a new danger surrounding the Loch and seeing the order add another amazing women to their ranks. Of course there was all the usual cast member that we have come to love and adore who all had their parts to play in this story as well. And Clyde my one and only true love of a coo!

The Enchanted Highlands series continues to delight! This light and cozy fantasy romance series is so bingeable and fun to read. Amy Landon and Will Watt really bring Orla and Finlay to life with their narration, and I was thrilled to hear their Scottish accents stay true to the story.

Orla Clarke, a master builder who is working on a new project for Common Gin, has a hidden power (though it doesn't stay hidden for long) - she can see & interact with ghosts. Her talents draw her into the shenanigans and the inner circle of the Order of Caledonia, as well as the arms of Finlay Thompson.

I've loved continuing to see the full cast of characters from the past books as the circle grows and the Order adds new members to their ranks. Orla and Finlay are another great addition!

Another hit from Tricia O'Malley in the Enchanted Highlands series. This series is so fun while still cozy and magical.
Orla is such a great character bringing forward issues that matter.

Can an artisan builder with a haunted past learn to break down her own walls?

Orla Clarke is a master builder with a secret—she can see ghosts. Tasked with building Common Gin’s newest distillery in Loren Brae, Orla faces more than just architectural challenges. Haunted by her past as an orphan and the spirits that have followed her since childhood, Orla’s talent for building walls extends to her heart. She’s brilliant at solving problems on the construction site, but when it comes to matters of love, she’s always kept her distance.

Enter Finlay Thompson, the charming and driven director of the distillery project. Determined to breathe new life into the old stone building, Finlay is equally passionate about gin as he is about profits. Betrayed by family, and untrusting of relationships, he can’t help but be entranced by the pint-sized powerhouse overseeing the build-out of the distillery. With mysterious things happening around Loren Brae, the more Finlay puts himself in Orla’s path, the more he is drawn to the quiet builder with luminous eyes.

As spirits bring secrets to light, Orla and Finlay must confront their deepest fears. Can they build a future together, or will their haunted pasts keep them apart forever?

This installment was fun since both MCs are Scottish. A relatively small detail overall but exciting. Orla and Finley were a little more difficult for me to relate with, but I liked the “different worlds” vibes they had to deal with. This book also felt a little heavier emotionally than the rest so far, since we dealt with spirits and a traumatic childhood. Of course, we have wonderful banter and the lovable Clyde to lighten the mood when needed.
As per usual, Amy Landon and Will Watt killed it with the narrations. The only bummer is that the chapters from the Finley’s POV were less frequent than in previous books so I didn’t get as much Will as I wanted. Still a very solid performance of course.
Thank you NetGalley, Tricia O’Malley, and Dreamscape Select for the opportunity to preview this wonderful audiobook! I can’t wait for Wild Scottish Gold!

I have loved every single book in this series. It's such a charming, feel good series full of whimsy. This was another win. I loved Orla working in a male dominated profession and being so confident in her skills. The addition of the Green Lady legend was just another mythical/paranormal character to add to the growing list. I love how Tricia is able to weave in new Scottish elements to the series. The found family is one of my favorite parts of this series. As usual the audio narration is brilliant. Even though I've listened to every book with the same narrators (I think) it always seems like I'm able to tell these are new characters. Their voices just never sound the same. I didn't feel the strongest chemistry between Finley and Orla, something was missing. This one also lacked the humor of previous books. A solid 4 star story and can't wit for the next one.
