I am a fan of this series. I feel as though each book just gets better than the one before it.

Orla might just be my favourite of the characters from this series. She is strong and fierce, and I loved it. Her walls are so high I don't know if she even knows what it's like to take a deep breath. She has been building that wall for years so when Finlay comes into her life, she doesn't expect he would be the one to help her tear the wall down.

She opens herself up to the Order, she has a unique gift and has to accept herself before anyone else can accept her. But opening herself up to possible rejection keeps Orla from trusting in Finlay.

This book's performance from Will and Amy was outstanding. They become the characters and it's easy to forget everything around you but the story being told.

Cute cozy magical Scottish romance with amazing characters and phenomenal character development! Orla Clark is a builder who can see ghosts and is haunted by her past as an orphan, which left her with abandonment issues, and she keeps distance from people to protect herself. Orla is hired to build a distillery in Loren Brae and meets Finlay Thompson, who is the director of the distillery project. Finley was betrayed by his family and left him untrusting of people. Orla and Finlay confront their biggest fears in hopes of having a future together. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Amy Landon and Will Watt. The narrators did a fantastic job! Wild Scottish Fortune is such a beautiful story.

Audiobook releases Sep 16, 2024.

This book was a great continuation of this series of standalones. I really enjoy how the supernatural is incorporated into the books and is done in such a great way. I loved Orla and she was just an amazing character. The romance in this book was so sweet. I am excited for the next book and am dying to go back and read the beginning books that I have not had a chance to read before this one.

Love the accents used for the reading. The story is kinda meh and drags. But overall very good. Story of a contractor and a project manager falling in love while being subjected to paranormal events.

Wild Scottish Fortune
The Enchanted Highlands Book Six
by Tricia O'Malley
narrated by Amy Landon and Will Watt

***Five Scottish Witchy Stars***

Will Watt is narrating the book? Immediately YES!

I am just on a little witchy witchy kick and I'm not disappointed in my journey! Orla Clark is a bad-a master builder and she's currently working on a new gin distillery. Orla has seen spirits her entire life but didn't learn until recently the depth of her own magic. Finley Tompson is a driven man, he is in charge of making sure the distillery comes to its best life. With some spirit interference these two are in for an adventure.

I really loved Orla and Finley together. I did feel like he overreacted a bit at the end there but I guess I've never been in his shoes. I would definitely read more about these two. I didn't realize this was a series, and book six, but I didn't feel lost in the story. I would for sure read the rest of the series, I enjoyed this author's writing very much.

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Select, and the author for the opportunity to listen to and review this story. All thoughts are my own.

I wanted to like this book as I love books set in Scotland but I fet that the narration was a very slow and it detracted from the story for me. Perhaps in physical form, I could have gotten more engaged with the book but sadly, in audiobook form, this title was not for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Enchanted Highlands #6
Wild Scottish Fortune
Tricia O’Malley
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Fantasy
Orla Clarke can see ghosts. By trade she owns the Clarke Construction. Currently she is building a new distillery at McAlpine Castle for Monroe Craig of Common Gin’s. Orla’s childhood was rough; she was an orphan. She had to learn to stand on her own two feet at an early age; she also learned not to trust anyone with her heart. Orla struggles to make ends meet. Oh yeah! And she sees ghosts.
Finlay Thompson, the chief Operations Officer of the distillery project. After being betrayed by his family he has trust issues. The first time he met Orla he though she was the cleaning woman on the construction site. Needless to say, Orla wasn’t impressed, but Finlay was. The two had to work together and the sparks started flying. Finlay realized she was special and that he wanted her. Orla kept guard on her heart and wasn’t ready to give it to anyone. He saw the real Orla. He asked her/paid her to attend a party with him. She wore a beautiful dress, she was beautiful. But to Finlay she was even more beautiful when she was doing construction. He saw the real Orla. He knew not to push her but to allow her to make her own decisions.
I love books set in Scotland and this one doesn’t disappoint me. Orla was a strong character even with her flaws. Finlay and Orla worked well together, and I loved the sparks between them. This is the first book in The Enchanted Highlands series that I have read, I want to go back and read the previous 5 books.

Thank you NetGalley for the review copy.

Once again this author took me on a fun ride into this magical world full of mystical creatures and lots of Romance! I really enjoyed the main characters passion for her trade and willingness to open up to those around her. I also think I need a familiar lol.

We're back in Loren Brae for another fabulous installment in the Enchanted Highlands series and hold onto your hat as there is crossover heaven about to descend!!! I am that person who gets giddy when tv shows do crossovers and have characters from one show interact with ones from another show and when it happens in books, I am positively over the moon with happiness! So, get ready for fun and laughter as someone from Tequilia Key pops in at a pivotal moment! I mean everyone is entitled to a vacation so why not go from Florida to Scottland! I'm still smiling as I think about this little bit of crossover! As always, the characters are well developed to be relatable while also bringing a smile at the whimsey of their lives. There is dark magic at work in the area and the newest member of the order is going to have their hands full trying to figure things out in a hurry before someone is seriously hurt. Even while bringing laughter and smiles, we also get tears as the main characters featured in this book both bring some hurtful baggage into the picture with them. I love the underlying message of the book that family is what you surround yourself with and not necessarily dictated by the blood in your veins. I think this is true for everyone regardless of their relationship with their blood relatives. You often find yourself closer to the ones you surround yourself with than the ones that bind to you by blood. If you want hours of fun, whimsey, mystery and love then this book, well series really, is the one for you. I highly recommend the audiobook as the dual narration really brings the characters and stories fully to life and the accents are divine as well. It really transports you to Scotland and helps you feel as if you are in Loren Brae with them!

Title: Wild Scottish Fortune
Series: The Enchanted Highlands #6l
Author: Trisha O’Malley
Format: 🎧
Audiobook Narrators: Amy Landon and Will Watt
Publisher: Dreamscape Select
Genre: Paranormal, Scottish folklore, and Romance
Audiobook Release Date: September 16, 2024
My Rating: 4. Stars

Although this is #6 in the Enchanted Highlands series based in the town of Loren Brae. The stories are similar and the audiobook performers are the same however there are new characters- in this story they are Oria and Finlay.
Orla Clarke is a hard working successful contractor from a rough childhood. She’s afraid to get close to anyone and lay down roots in fear of losing them. She was taught that the greatest fortune she can ever have is from doing something with her hands; and in honor of that she became a contractor and own her own company.

Finlay Thompson is the opposite of Orla in his expensive clothes.

When Finlay first meets Orla she assumes she is the cleaner on the construction site certainly it never occurred to him that she is the construction manager.

Clearly things don’t go well with their first meeting. However, having read others in this series and the two main characters typically find that opposites do attract and I was sure that despite getting off to a rocky start, these two would soon hit it off.

I just love this series. The audiobook narrators do such a great job performing the characters. There is no doubt their accent adds to the story in a way that I could not achieve if I read this story.

Now I am looking forward to " Wild Scottish Gold" #6 in ‘The Enchanted Highlands’ series.

Want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for this Audiobook.
Audio Publishing Release Date scheduled for September 16, 2024.

I really enjoyed this book. I think there was a nice balance between the romance and the magical elements. The main characters were so cute and really grew throughout the story. The narration was perfection!

I received a copy from Netgalley and the publisher.

This is hard for me to rate. I even listened to the book twice to understand why.
The book is a typical (contemporary) paranormal romance read for me, with romance and paranormal mixed well. This is also my first read of this author's book so I have no other books to compare this from.
I liked Orla's character actually. Her history, which we are mostly told from her inner monologues, is admirable. I cannot help but wish that most of the kids coming from her similar beginnings will have a successful story like her. Her building skill and her character having a formidable walls is ironically brilliant. I was rooting for her from the get go and would love to see her story turns to happily ever after. I understand her well.
Finlay, on the other hand, is very closed off to me. But as we uncover his story page after page, I can understand his walls. Sigh...we are mostly told as well about Finlay's history from his inner monologues. Still, when he was pursuing Orla, I love how every forward step he took was because he is seeing a glimpse of something he likes in Orla.
In this, at least I adored their courtship because it's not an insta love and they are peeling each other's clothes. Instead, Finlay truly pursued Orla - in my opinion, and Orla consciously let him.
With that gushing, one should assume I love love the book. No, and for the life of me, I cannot tell why because I do not even dislike the paranormal part of the story. I think it is a well thought scenario though not as unique - but unique also is subjective.
Still, this book is a solid romance story with that expected flowers and sunshine group of women from the same series forming and all getting ready to fight the magical Kelpies in the near future.
In the end, this book, though the emotions and romance interested me, did not have that effect on me that made it a stand out. A solid read/listen.
As I received this as audiobook, I would love to commend how great the narrators are. Now, I never listened to a native Scotsman/Scotswoman speak English, but these narrators gave me a great picture of Loren Brae.
Thanks to Netgalley for providing me the audiobook.

Orla Clarke, hard-working master builder, arrives in Loren Brae to help expand a distillery, but quickly discovers much more than her typical job awaits. Orphaned at a young age, Orla now guards her heart by keeping others at a distance. Her ability to see and communicate with ghosts has added to the walls she’s built around herself. But working closely with the handsome, Fin Thompson, director of the distillery, may shake her foundation to its core.
Tricia O’Malley does a wonderful job of creating likeable characters with a sweet and spicy storyline that draws in the reader. I enjoyed all the warm and cozy friendships blooming around Loren Brae. (And we can’t forget to mention Miss Elva and her hunky entourage who added a bit of southern charm to the story!)
While this was her latest edition to the series, I had no trouble reading it as a stand-alone novel.

This was another great addition to the audiobook series! Orla and Finlay's story is so fun, whimsical, and magical, just like the first four books. This book dove a little bit more into more difficult themes, like child neglect, foster care, familial strain, and money differences. Tricia handles these topics with great care and weaves them seamlessly into a heartfelt love story. While this was not my favorite book of the series, it was still a very enjoyable listen.

Amy and Will are so great together, and their Scottish accents are fantastic! They are both amongst my favorite narrators for many reasons, and this book was no exception. Their voices and performances lent themselves well to the characters and their array of emotions and accents.

Another solid installation to the series. I really liked the MMC here and his willingness to understand what the FMC has been through and what she may be feeling as a result. I'm still not sure the paranormal twist adds anything but it's a good story just the same.

Orla and Fin seem so mis matched to start with. She comes from a deprived background, he comes from money. When they first meet things don’t exactly go smoothly, but the more time they spend together the more they see there is much more to the other person than they expected.

She sees a hard working, caring man who is loyal to a fault sometimes. He sees a determined, smart, skilled woman who has so much love to give, but just doesn’t know how to show it.

They both had their own struggles that brought issues to their budding relationship and it took so work on both their parts to work through these and get the HEA I so wanted for them. They were so good together and just seemed to bring out the best in each other and give each other a sense of peace.

Orla is the newest member of the Order, continuing from the rest of the series, but this definitely felt more about Fin and Orla to me, with a nice little touch of magick.

As with the other stories in this series this book made me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy. The audio definitely felt like to audio added to the story and pulled me in.

Thank you to Tricia O'Malley, Dreamscape Select, and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to a free eaudio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a nice, average romance. Clyde the playful Highland coo was again the star of the show, followed closely by Harris the puppy, but the other characters were okay. Orla was likeable and sympathetic, though I feel like more could have been done with her impoverished background. And she herself needed to confront Fin's mother, at the very least, if not address that whole charity. But the part of her arc that was learning to trust Fin and the life she was building for herself was beautiful.

Fin, however, while likeable, was unremarkable. I don't recall anything distinguishable about him. I'm not even sure what his arc was. Oh, right, something about lies. He hated when he found out Orla hadn't told him she was a witch, but honestly that was pretty ridiculous to me. She's known you for five minutes, of course she wasn't going to tell you she was a witch who could see and communicate with ghosts. Most people would run the other way. Personally I think it was a little entitled of you to be angry about it.

I think I understand the fantasy subplot a little better now, but it's still pretty lame, and it's full of plot holes. They're gathering an order of people with supernatural abilities to protect a stone. Doesn't say why the stone needs protecting or what it does. Just protect it, damn it!

If you don't need a super deep or complex plot, just need to scratch your Scottish romance itch, this'll do.
