Although this is #6 in the Enchanted Highlands series based in the town of Loren Brae. The stories are similar and the audiobook performers are the same however there are new characters- in this story they are Oria and Finlay.
Orla Clarke is a hard working successful contractor from a rough childhood. She’s afraid to get close to anyone and lay down roots in fear of losing them. She was taught that the greatest fortune she can ever have is from doing something with her hands; and in honor of that she became a contractor and own her own company.

Finlay Thompson is the opposite of Orla in his expensive clothes.

When Finlay first meets Orla she assumes she is the cleaner on the construction site certainly it never occurred to him that she is the construction manager.

Clearly things don’t go well with their first meeting. However, having read others in this series and the two main characters typically find that opposites do attract and I was sure that despite getting off to a rocky start, these two would soon hit it off.

I just love this series. The audiobook narrators do such a great job performing the characters. There is no doubt their accent adds to the story in a way that I could not achieve if I read this story.

Now I am looking forward to " Wild Scottish Gold" #6 in ‘The Enchanted Highlands’ series.

I really enjoyed this book. I think there was a nice balance between the romance and the magical elements. The main characters were so cute and really grew throughout the story. The narration was perfection!

I received a copy from Netgalley and the publisher.

This is hard for me to rate. I even listened to the book twice to understand why.
The book is a typical (contemporary) paranormal romance read for me, with romance and paranormal mixed well. This is also my first read of this author's book so I have no other books to compare this from.
I liked Orla's character actually. Her history, which we are mostly told from her inner monologues, is admirable. I cannot help but wish that most of the kids coming from her similar beginnings will have a successful story like her. Her building skill and her character having a formidable walls is ironically brilliant. I was rooting for her from the get go and would love to see her story turns to happily ever after. I understand her well.
Finlay, on the other hand, is very closed off to me. But as we uncover his story page after page, I can understand his walls. Sigh...we are mostly told as well about Finlay's history from his inner monologues. Still, when he was pursuing Orla, I love how every forward step he took was because he is seeing a glimpse of something he likes in Orla.
In this, at least I adored their courtship because it's not an insta love and they are peeling each other's clothes. Instead, Finlay truly pursued Orla - in my opinion, and Orla consciously let him.
With that gushing, one should assume I love love the book. No, and for the life of me, I cannot tell why because I do not even dislike the paranormal part of the story. I think it is a well thought scenario though not as unique - but unique also is subjective.
Still, this book is a solid romance story with that expected flowers and sunshine group of women from the same series forming and all getting ready to fight the magical Kelpies in the near future.
In the end, this book, though the emotions and romance interested me, did not have that effect on me that made it a stand out. A solid read/listen.
As I received this as audiobook, I would love to commend how great the narrators are. Now, I never listened to a native Scotsman/Scotswoman speak English, but these narrators gave me a great picture of Loren Brae.
Thanks to Netgalley for providing me the audiobook.

Orla Clarke, hard-working master builder, arrives in Loren Brae to help expand a distillery, but quickly discovers much more than her typical job awaits. Orphaned at a young age, Orla now guards her heart by keeping others at a distance. Her ability to see and communicate with ghosts has added to the walls she’s built around herself. But working closely with the handsome, Fin Thompson, director of the distillery, may shake her foundation to its core.
Tricia O’Malley does a wonderful job of creating likeable characters with a sweet and spicy storyline that draws in the reader. I enjoyed all the warm and cozy friendships blooming around Loren Brae. (And we can’t forget to mention Miss Elva and her hunky entourage who added a bit of southern charm to the story!)
While this was her latest edition to the series, I had no trouble reading it as a stand-alone novel.

This was another great addition to the audiobook series! Orla and Finlay's story is so fun, whimsical, and magical, just like the first four books. This book dove a little bit more into more difficult themes, like child neglect, foster care, familial strain, and money differences. Tricia handles these topics with great care and weaves them seamlessly into a heartfelt love story. While this was not my favorite book of the series, it was still a very enjoyable listen.

Amy and Will are so great together, and their Scottish accents are fantastic! They are both amongst my favorite narrators for many reasons, and this book was no exception. Their voices and performances lent themselves well to the characters and their array of emotions and accents.

Another solid installation to the series. I really liked the MMC here and his willingness to understand what the FMC has been through and what she may be feeling as a result. I'm still not sure the paranormal twist adds anything but it's a good story just the same.

Orla and Fin seem so mis matched to start with. She comes from a deprived background, he comes from money. When they first meet things don’t exactly go smoothly, but the more time they spend together the more they see there is much more to the other person than they expected.

She sees a hard working, caring man who is loyal to a fault sometimes. He sees a determined, smart, skilled woman who has so much love to give, but just doesn’t know how to show it.

They both had their own struggles that brought issues to their budding relationship and it took so work on both their parts to work through these and get the HEA I so wanted for them. They were so good together and just seemed to bring out the best in each other and give each other a sense of peace.

Orla is the newest member of the Order, continuing from the rest of the series, but this definitely felt more about Fin and Orla to me, with a nice little touch of magick.

As with the other stories in this series this book made me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy. The audio definitely felt like to audio added to the story and pulled me in.

Thank you to Tricia O'Malley, Dreamscape Select, and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to a free eaudio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a nice, average romance. Clyde the playful Highland coo was again the star of the show, followed closely by Harris the puppy, but the other characters were okay. Orla was likeable and sympathetic, though I feel like more could have been done with her impoverished background. And she herself needed to confront Fin's mother, at the very least, if not address that whole charity. But the part of her arc that was learning to trust Fin and the life she was building for herself was beautiful.

Fin, however, while likeable, was unremarkable. I don't recall anything distinguishable about him. I'm not even sure what his arc was. Oh, right, something about lies. He hated when he found out Orla hadn't told him she was a witch, but honestly that was pretty ridiculous to me. She's known you for five minutes, of course she wasn't going to tell you she was a witch who could see and communicate with ghosts. Most people would run the other way. Personally I think it was a little entitled of you to be angry about it.

I think I understand the fantasy subplot a little better now, but it's still pretty lame, and it's full of plot holes. They're gathering an order of people with supernatural abilities to protect a stone. Doesn't say why the stone needs protecting or what it does. Just protect it, damn it!

If you don't need a super deep or complex plot, just need to scratch your Scottish romance itch, this'll do.

Orla is an experienced builder. On a new site she meets Finlay and discovers she is a house witch. And the fun begins. I have loved this series!

Many thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Select for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am very invested in this series. I especially like that all of the protagonists of the books don’t feel like they’re all different shades of the same couple, which happens a lot in romance series this long.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the audiobook.

The narrators brought this magical romance to life! I love this series. There is magic, romance and gives all the feels. I also love the setting of Scotland. This can read as a standalone.
