I'm not sure how wide of an audience will be interested in this book, but for those who live and/or work in Loudoun County, this is an eye-opening look at how the culture wars in this country and the conservative attacks on public schools have played out so far in Loudoun.

Wayde Byard shared a detailed view of his perspective of the events that led up to and eventually resulted in the his being engaged in a court battle that very nearly ended his career as the beloved figured of Loudoun County information officer. As someone who, like many, followed the events of that time closely, it was nice to get an insiders view of what exactly took place. The political climate along with the unusual circumstance surrounding the COVID pandemic became the perfect storm for a series of events that are still being felt to this day. Byard gave a very detailed account of events and he named names, dates and places so there was no doubt as to the validity of his words. Though at times, the chapters seemed a bit disjointed, The Battle for Loudoun County is definitely a worthy read.

It was a very thorough review of events that impacted Mr. Byard's career and his future as an administrator. Extremely detailed in naming every individual involved in his situation and every step of the process in the court system.

I asked for this since I grew up in the county (Fairfax) next to Loudoun and had followed the controversy. I suspect it will be interesting only to Virginians and residents of Loudoun. It was too detailed, too many names, and too long. A summary of some of the names at the beginning of the book would have been helpful.
