Another great thriller, packed with the kind of twists that keep you hooked! True to Modglin’s style, this was an absolute page-turner!

This is a fantastic domestic thriller that was a joy to listen to! A multicast of narrators brought this story to life!
When Celine receives a phone call that her husband has died in a crash, nobody is more shocked than she when she arrives to identify his body only to find that it’s not him. This starts a twisted story that was incredibly entertaining and blew my mind!
I enjoyed the dual timelines, the twisty plot and double mystery!
My thanks to Dreamscape Audio for this gifted ALC!

I actually hated this book. I’ve always been a huge fan of Kiersten but honestly I feel like she tries to put out books too fast instead of investing the time to better develop them.

Of course I had to request this brand new release guaranteed to bring the twists! I enjoyed it cover to cover and was engaged with the story the entire time. I listened to the audio format and would definitely recommend. The narration was performed by a full cast which brought the characters to life even more.
*many thanks to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

As usual I blew through this book. Kiersten’s books are always quick and enjoyable reads. It was dual timeline, both the present of Tate missing, and the past, with Tate and his friends and their school days. I always try to figure out the twists but I’m always surprised in the end. I was shocked by the ending. This one was on the darker side, but I’m definitely not complaining.
I loved the full cast narration, it added so much to the story.
Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for my ALC of this book.

The audio really brought the sorry to life! I enjoyed this story and how it was told! This story was very addictive and I had to keep reading til the end

The Guilty One was a great read by Kiersten Modglin. Celine Thompson's life changes the second she gets the call that her husband was involved in a fatal accident. She's asked to identify the body and what happens changes everything. She finds that the man on the table is not her husband. She wants to find out who this man is and why he has Tate's possessions and why they have the same tattoo. She is holding on top hope that he may be alive even though he isn't answering his phone. Unfortunately there are dark truths that want to come out that could change her life forever. Everything she figures out leads to the fact that she may have never really known her husband. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

Celine receives the worst kind of news. Her husband has been killed and she needs to identify his body. When she looks at the photos of the body, she realizes that it is not him, although the tattoos are very familiar. Why is that and where is her husband Tate?
Someone is lying.
Someone is missing.
Someone is guilty.
These three sentences that I took directly from the blurb sets the tone for this thrilling read by Kiersten Modglin. Celine’s husband Tate is definitely missing, but that death notice opened a whole new batch of questions. Can Celine be the one to discover what is really going on? With secrets and twists in this compelling read by Modglin, I was utterly intrigued from beginning to end.
Many thanks to Kiersten Modglin and NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

5 thrilling stars
This was a wild ride from start to finish. In typical Modglin fashion, we are immediately pulled into this suspenseful story and it is definitely “unputdownable”. It’s very fast paced with so many twists and turns- everything I look for in a great thriller. Including a shocking and completely unpredictable ending.
This story begins with Celine receiving a phone call that her husband did not survive a car accident. When she goes to identify his body- it is not her husband. But it is a man with all of her husband’s belongings, driving her husband’s car with an identical tattoo as her husband. What in the world is going on?
This book travels back and forth from past to present, in a very easy to follow fashion that keeps the story moving. Celine must go back into her husband’s past, dig deep into who he associated with, and try to distinguish truth from lie.
I’m a huge KMOD fan and this book did not disappoint. Highly recommend!!
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape media for an advanced audio copy of this book. My review is delayed and this is available for reading NOW!!

Kiersten Modglin writes it then I will read it!
The book's pacing is brisk, and the short chapters keep the pages turning. Some of the twists felt a bit predictable or overly dramatic. However, the final reveal still managed to surprise me, and I enjoyed the way Modglin tied everything together in the end. The content was grotesque and put me off, but Modglin does a good job on making you see how the other characters react to the various events.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes thrillers, and especially thrillers with a darker edge.
The narration was great overall, I think it fit the characters well and allowed for expression of different emotions.

I feel like nothing really happened for the first sixty percent of this book, and everything happens in the last thirty percent. The entire reason for the missing husband and dead friends was so farfetched to me. It makes for a good twist at the end, but really it's so out of left field it's almost unbelievable. Overall, an alright book. I enjoyed all the narrators, everyone did a great job!

This thriller is packed with unexpected twists and never quite goes where you’d expect. I was completely in the dark the whole way, which kept me turning the pages. It’s a dark read with some pretty intense, graphic scenes (heads up for sensitive readers), but if you like an unsettling, complex plot, it’s worth it. Out of all the books by this author, this one had the most disturbing scenes I’ve read yet.
The epilogue was a solid way to close the story, giving a satisfying sense of closure. I do love when characters stand firm in their decisions without apologizing, also each narrator brought out the personalities and the tension, adding a whole new layer to the experience

Finally, another Modglin story that I absolutely did not see the twist coming! I could not figure out what was going to happen in this story, and that is my favorite!!

This story was hard to put down!
I have to admit, I had heard mixed reviews about the author's past works, but the synopsis was so interesting to me that I had to give it a shot. I really enjoyed this one and was pleasantly surprised! The suspense was great and I was always wanting to know more/find out the ending. The ending ended up being a little much and felt like it would have been better if it was a bit more tame. But overall, I really enjoyed this one!

Thank you @NetGalley for the ARC. Wow, this book packs a punch. What starts out as a missing husband turns into so much more. Please check trigger warnings for this book. This was a very fast paced story with dual narratives. I could not stop listening. I will be reading more of Kiersten Modglin books.

This was another twisty one that held my attention from the beginning to the end.
Celine receives the devastating call no spouse wants to receive - her husband has died in a car accident.
Told in duel timelines with a multi-cast narration bringing all the characters to life, this was trademark Kirsten unputdownable!
*Trigger warnings of domestic/sexual violence to be aware of.
Narrated by Mia Hutchinson-Shaw; Chad Ackerman; Evan Sibley; Melissa Kay Benson
Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape media for an ALC 🎧🤩

Another great domestic thriller by KMod! I seriously don't understand how she thinks up so many different great stories in so little time! I feel like she publishes new books every 2 months lol This one was a great, quick read. I knew the ending "twist" pretty early, but not the other!! Highly recommend listening to the audiobook, too. They did such a great job narrating.
*Thank you partner @dreamscape_media for the #gifted audiobook in exchange for an honest review.*

The Guilty One. is full of twists, keeping the reader hooked until the end. The complex characters add depth to the story. Some part of the story are a bit far fetched. However, if you put that aside, it’s a great read for fans of the genre.

Kiersten is an author I either LOVE or HATE, there is no real between. When I love her book, I really, really love it. When I hate the book, I absolutely hate it. Unfortunately, this was on the hate end. It's exactly what you expect from the moment you pick it up until the last chapter.

This book is about a wife who has been married for 11 years and thinks she knows her husband, but does she? This poor wife goes to the police station, the police tell her that her husband is dead, and they show her pictures, but it's not him. However, he isn't responding and hasn't contacted her. What happens next will blow your mind. Oh my goodness, Kiersten Modglin is so good at twists and turns. You never know who it is until you get to the end.
