Sanderson does it again in the next book in the Stormlight Archives series. As someone who has been reading fantasy novels all her life, Sanderson is one of the names often tossed around to both get new readers into fantasy and old ones to stay excited, and this one does just that. The ending for this novel feels complete yet open enough for the next series of his to continue.

This is a preview excerpt for the 5th book of the Stormlight Archive series. It's a highly anticipated sequel that wraps up the first arc. I really enjoyed this excerpt at it recaps the events leading up to this in a way that doesn't overly summarize it-- just enough to jog your memory. It's also mostly character-focused as the events ahead are going to really put everybody through it all, so this opening part is more for joy. I hope the best for the characters and look forward to reading the whole book when I can get to it.

Very grateful for an early snippet of this book. Cannot wait to gobble up the rest of it. This series has had me hooked for the last year and am sad to see it come to a close (for now). Lots of historical backdrop in this one that definitely help understand the world building much better!

I absolutely loved this. Thank you for giving us a little taste! The book as a whole was 10/10. I love how it wrapped up enough of the story to be satisfying but also left enough open that I’m greatly anticipating the next series!

This is Brandon Sanderson there is nothing he can do wrong. This was an amazing end to the first era of this story.

I cried. I laughed out loud. I cried some more. I made a mistake and went running while reading the end. I cried some more.

There were so many moments that felt cinematic and that if I was watching this in a movie theater the whole crowd would have been cheering.

I won’t be posting spoilers but I will say this about the ending: it felt just right. There was nothing shocking about it, but it felt like exactly what had been built up to.

banger of a book (as a whole). this excerpt was a nice little tease for people that read it before the full book came out. (couldn't have been me tho)

Ultimately disappointing. This felt like a completely different Stormlight book. It was too juvenile, yet overly complicated.

What an incredible story. I loved every second of this. And while I can't say I was happy with where everyone ended up, it all fit the characters and their journeys. Can't wait for the next one!

I have not read a single of his books before. So to start here was a bit confusing. But I enjoyed the book anyways. Yes I was confused, yes I was lost , but overall it was enough to captivate me and give me the drive to read the rest. I will be reading them all and after my earring could change. I also listened to the audiobook and I loved the narrators splitting parts of the book. I think it helped since it’s quite long. It is so detailed and there is so much lore than I know I have a lot to catch up on. But overall I very much enjoyed the book.

Brandon Sanderson is a master of writing books in a way that draws readers in from page 1 and keeps them running back .... For every single release from book 1 until the end of time. I can't find the words to say how amazing this series was.

This book is incredible, i'm now about halfway through the full release and loving every second. I can't wait to see how it all ends. Each characters story arc so far has been so so good. Brandon never disappoints! Thank you so much for letting me read the extended preview ahead of time.

This little glimpse has just tripled my excitement and expectations for the book. I was anxious of what all could be achieved to bring about an ending fitting the whole arcs build so far in the series. But even within this little glimpse my fears have been allayed and I rest assured that this book will live upto my expectations

Since this is an extended except and not a full book, I it's a little difficult to review it thoroughly, but I greatly enjoyed what I was able to read so far of this book. As always, the writing of this series blows me away. It pulls me into the story and holds my attention without any breaks. I love where the novel is going so far. The way the Stormlight characters continue to develop and grow as they wrestle with their personal development really brings them to life and makes me feel like they are real people that I know and care for. I appreciate how Sanderson weaves the various stories together and brings them into a larger picture story by the end of each book. I look forward to seeing how that will happen in the end of Wind and Truth.

With every book I see the relationships between the characters grow and change, and that feels especially evident and beautiful in this novel. I also adore the banter and humor that improves with every book as well.

I regularly recommend this series and this author to library patrons and friends.

This is a five star read for me so far, and I'm sure the novel as a whole will be too.

I am absolutely blown away. I was immediately and so easily pulled back in, despite the 4 year gap between this and the last book. I cried multiple times before I even made it very far in, and basically cried the whole way through. I was just so happy to be back on Roshar! I adore these characters. Every single one (except you, Moash) will have my heart forever. I will quite literally slowly lose my mind for the next 5-6 years until we are blessed with the next installment. All in all, 10/10, 1 loved it. I'll sing its praises and shout from the rooftop. Bravo and THANK YOU :')

Wow. We’ve had a LONG lead-up to the end of this arc. While I’m glad I got to read it and see how this part of the story of Roshar ends, I’m not ready to walk away. I’m already looking forward to Book 6 and the beginning of the next arc. The Cosmere is just so expansive and wonderful. I’m so thankful that an author like Brandon Sanderson exists to give us these gifts from his imagination. There’s always another secret and there’s always another story.

I feel so lucky to have been approved for an advanced glimpse of the first 350 pages of Wind and Truth, the epic conclusion to The Stormlight Archive. Thank you, NetGalley, for the opportunity!

Brandon Sanderson once again proves why he’s a legendary name in fantasy. His ability to make you laugh, cry, and marvel at his storytelling is unmatched. This book picks up the pieces left by Rhythm of War and delivers heartfelt reprieves for characters who’ve endured endless hardships. As the stakes escalate with preparations for the contest against Odium and an unexpected invasion, we’re finally treated to answers about pivotal moments from The Way of Kings’ prologue. Plus, some long-overlooked characters get their time to shine.

At a whopping 1,330 pages, this eARC felt like a tantalizing teaser—and I loved every moment of it. I can’t wait to continue the full journey. 💙
