Wow. Firstly it is SO great being back in Roshar and reading about these characters again. This extended excerpt was the perfect amount to get me even more hyped for this book. I'm so excited ( and nervous ) to see where this book is going, and where my favorite characters end up. ( hopefully getting drinks at the end of this book)
Once again, bravo to Mr. Sanderson. You really know how to write a good book.

Thank you Netgalley and Tor Books for this extended of Wind and Truth.

Thank you so much Netgalley and Tor Books for this extended of Wind and Truth. I’ve posted my honest review below:

It’s great to be back in Roshar and Brandon Sanderson has done an amazing job setting up the 5th book of the Stormlight Archives. I can’t wait to finish this book after getting to read the extended excerpt.

I’m very excited to see what happens with Kaladin and Szeth in their journey to Shinovar. Also Shallan has been a favorite character of mine and I can’t wait to read more about what she is up to. And last but not least Dalinar has his contest in 10 days and I can already feel the sanderlanche brewing. You can tell a lot of love has been put into this book and I’m thrilled to see how the first half of this series ends.

Oh this was such a good beginning to the end! So far I am impressed with how things have been becoming linked (I guess that is as much as I can say with no spoilers). Also as a therapist, Kaladin’s new journey makes me very happy! Can’t wait to finish this book!

This extended excerpt shows us Days 1 & 2 (out of 10 days) before the ultimate battle of champions for the fate of Roshar. It immediately picks up from the conclusion of Rhythm of War, beginning with Gavilar's POV in the Prologue, and shows us the extremely arrogant and megalomaniac side of Gavilar trying to become a Herald, and as well as an uncharacteristically confusing side of the Stormfather. Quite a lot of revelations, yet more questions that I hope to get answers for as the book progresses! In days 1 & 2, we see a lot of preparation, goodbyes, and general foreshadowing. Shallan infiltrates the Ghostbloods, tries to prevent them from following Dalinar into the Spiritual Realm and fails in a spectacular fashion - where they ALL end up in that realm without an anchor to the Physical Realm. Kaladin tries to figure out what he really wants to do with his life (away from the fighting). Kaladin and Szeth travel to Shinovar, and Szeth finally opens up about his past and we get his flashbacks!

This was an amazing and promising start to book five, and I am so excited to continue and find out what happens! Thank you TOR and NetGalley for approving my eARC request!

Masterful work and wonderful tie ins to other Cosmere novels! Brandon Sanderson never fails to keep the reader guessing and in this case dreading the final chapter of the first half of The Stormlight Archives.

Ahhh I can't believe I got to read the extended excerpt before this book was available to the world. Brandon Sanderson is so good. I am happy and nervous to be back in this world, though. With it being the last book of the first story, ARC, we're going to be in for a wild ride. The characters have come so far since first meeting them in book one; everyone is so well developed, the world-building is still incredible, and the sheer detail that Sanderson puts into his work is unmatched. I think parts one and two set up the story so well and I'm excited to see where it will go from here.

Absolutely incredible. Brandon Sanderson never misses. His characters are compelling and fully fleshed out, his plots are complicated and intriguing, and his writing style is incredible. He truly is a modern fantasy genius.

I have been looking forward to this all year and am happy to say that (so far) it does not disappoint! Sanderson is easing us back into this world with some beautiful moments with our favorite characters. I already teared up at least once! There's a lot of Wit, which is fabulous, and some interesting interactions (particularly Kal & Szeth, Lift & Gavinor, Renarin & Rlain). I am once again asking for more Jasnah....will have to keep reading to see if my wish is granted. Even though it is a bit of a slow start (in a good way), the prologue packs a punch and things are picking up steam as we countdown to Dalinar's contest with the new Odium. Can't say much more without giving spoilers, but so far this is shaping up to be a five star read and I'm excited to continue!!

This was a great sample of one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year. I can not wait to see where the story goes from here.

Sanderson does it again, without too many spoilers… this is a must read… I can’t believe I was chosen to
preview this and I am binging the full book today!!!!

This excerpt made me so excited to read the full book! I did think it was the full length ARC when I received it, i would suggest adding a very clear “sample” or “excerpt” watermark. Nonetheless, I will be enthusiastically hyping up Sanderson’s 5th Stormlight installment to anyone who will listen.

A Thrilling Taste of What’s to Come

Having just finished the extended preview of Wind and Truth, I’m more eager than ever for its release. From the very first chapter, Brandon Sanderson hooks you with his description of Roshar and all of the realms within the Cosmere . The plot unfolds with a perfect blend of tension, intrigue, and of course just the right amount of Wit, leaving just enough unanswered questions to keep you craving more.

What stands out most is the seamless weaving of themes between each of the view points we’ve come to expect, and a few new ones who will quickly become favorites. If the rest of the book holds up to this preview, it’s bound to become one of my favorite books of the year. I can’t wait to dive in fully when it releases.

To say that I was psyched out of my mind to have the privilege of reading and listening to advanced copies of the Wind and Truth excerpt is an understatement. I was already eagerly awaiting its release on December 6th, but after reading the 16 hour teaser I’m practically vibrating with anticipation. It’s readily apparent that Sanderson took time and care to write the final installment of the first arc. The characters are growing and the point of views are expending. Fans of the Stormlight series can expect more Cosmere exploration and several new and unexpected romances! I have my audiobooks preordered and ready to go!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Brandon Sanderson, Tor, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for my digital and audio excerpt copies!

Sanderson always sets the bar astronomically high with his releases and the Wind and Truth release is no different. This excerpt dives readers right back into the Stormlight Archive building the climax of his first arc, and starting this book of so well.

Sanderson blends the perfect mix of world-building, character building, emotion and prose in this series and truly is the staple for the epic fantasy genre. This book immediately leaves readers with a sense of nostalgia, for the pages turned of previous books, looking forward for what is to come!

A beautiful start to a beautiful end (I hope) and I can’t wait to continue this series and see what becomes of this world and characters!

Insanely excited for this book to come out on December 6. What an excellent preview of what's to come for some of my favorite fictional characters!

This is somewhat weird because I do think that from a line by line writing stand point this feels slightly worse than previous Stormlight novels. Say an extra awkward sentence per 10 pages. Sometimes it feels like Brandon has gotten feedback from people, and is maybe inserting what he has learned overly directly into the novel, in a way that feels awkward.

That being said.

Oh my this goes hard. Every single PoV feels like it is in an incredibly interesting situation, i never thought Rhythm of War was a set up book, but it left everyone where they needed to.

The book already has several completely insane moments, chapters, arcs, and reveals.
