Oh my gosh, my heart! This book is so, so cute. I first encountered the Mofusand cats from their collaboration with Uniqlo, but after traveling to Japan recently, they seem to be everywhere now.
Falling in Love with a Traveling Cat is a fun manga about the travels of the Mofusand cats - what they pack, the different places they travel to with each cat dressed as a symbol of the different cities, and my favorite part, all the specialized, regionally local food they ate on their trip (Fukuoka ramen, yes!).
Definitely read this if you need some cuteness in your life and want to see all the amazing ways cats can be drawn - as food, as cities, as travelers.

Adorable illustrations of cata traveling all across Japan, with many pages of what the prefectures are known for, souvenir gifts, and popular foods with explanations for what they are. Very cute, but more educational about Japan than I was expecting. I much preferred the pages where they just traveled and did things. Overall though, very cute picture book!
You know from the cover that the illustrations are ridiculously kawaii, but it just keeps getting better and better inside. *Giant love heart eyes!*
I don't read a lot of manga, so I'm not really sure how to review this. There isn't really a story, it's all about the cute cats and nods to travel in Japan. But I love cute cats and it was a great reminder of our recent trip to Japan (and planning for the next one!)
This is the CUTEST book ever, it's perfect for cat lovers, anyone who wants an adorable read, and just for everybody of any age. I was clenching my jaw over just how precious and cute this book was. The artwork is ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! The cats are too precious and I could read 50 more books with these cats.

This was so cute! Thank you to Udon for the early copy. I’ve been a fan of Mofusand for a couple of years but I became almost fanatical when I traveled to Japan last year and saw the range of merch. For those new to Mofusand- essentially, cats dressed up as things. My favourite characters are the shark and the fried shrimp. There’s even a Mofusand store in Character St at Tokyo Station! I have a shark toothbrush holder!
Anyway on to the book. The illustrations are of course gorgeous and really capture cat energy. I especially enjoyed the Japanese heritage, food and souvenirs towards the end. My only nitpick, and it is a nitpick, is that some of the illustrations seem isolated, without a background to work them in. And a background can be anything, a swash of colour. I just found the layout lacking in this regard, but the illustrations themselves were divine.
This would be a great book for kids, it reads like a picture book but it would be one they could read themselves as an early reader and I know I would have loved it as a kid.
Thanks to the publishers - Udon Entertainment – for giving me access to this book as an E-ARC via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
This was incredibly cute! The cats off on holiday doing all sorts of things one might do away from home during a holiday. That’s the most I can say about this book, I think, that it’s very, very cute and sometimes a book doesn’t need more than that.
Falling in love with a travelling cat is a heartwarming, adorable and cute illustrated book that follows the kittens of mofusand as they chronicle their travel destinations and the incredible memories that they create along the way. Raise a pint of broth and say cheers!
The kittens are planning to take a trip that contains a variety of destinations. They travel amusement parks, beach, restaurant ,aquarium
parasailing, hot springs, sauna and so many beautiful and delightful places. They also different delectable delicacies which they thoroughly enjoyed.
And they have their own social media called "Mofustagram" where they share photos accompanied by hashtags. Travelling places is always fun when you also collect souvenirs to remember your trip. And they bring their own souvenirs which are absolutely charming and cute.
So, hop on and enjoy traveling to picturesque destinations as well as they give a tour of Japan in the special section called "Regional cats."
This was one of the best graphic novels that I have read till date. I absolutely LOVED it. The sweet kittens are adorable darlings as they will put a smile on your face. I had high expectations as the illustrations on cover page were quite expressive and made me curious to know more. The illustrator did not disappoint me at all infact I have become a fan of his artwork and engaging storyline. And I learnt many japanese words. Therefore I am grateful to mofusand, arigato gozaimasu! 😊
This book is perfect for all the cats aficionados as they will find themselves in the company of kawaii koneko, beautiful destinations, and tasty, delicious food. Trust me you will feel like you have travel these places within the comfort of home.
Cat lovers will rejoice when they pick up this title. It is so very, very cute and adorable!
Watch the cats as they plan a trip, pack and travel. It is sure to bring a smile to the reader’s face.

Falling in Love with a Traveling Cat: Mofusand's 1st Illustration Book! is a cute illustrated book following a bunch of cats and their adventures on vacation. The illustrations are lovely- you basically get to see a bunch of cute cats doing a bunch of cute things like dressing up, eating, relaxing, and enjoying a vacation.
My biggest question is -who is this book for? It's written with one short sentence per page, as if it's a young children's book, and the content matter is indeed suitable for young children. But there's over 100 pages, way too long for a young child, and the story is really bare. It's just 100 pages of cute cats doing cute things on vacation. While I enjoyed the illustrations, I found myself flipping quickly through and looking at the beautiful illustrations, but not really reading any of the text as it was quite simplistic.
Either way, if you are a cat lover, you'll love the beautiful illustrations of cats doing their cute vacation stuff in this easy going, simplistic illustration book!

I barely remember my first encounter with Mofusand. All I know was that one day they were everywhere in Japan. Stationery, stickers, plush. I was buying all I could because it was so cute I couldn't resist. It's been years, and that still hasn't changed, though Mofusand hasn't become quite as accessible in the US yet. So, I'm very happy to see this adorable book! It's great for fans new or old, and I think anyone who likes cats will enjoy it. It's mainly an art book, but they've done a great job of adding a little story to help group the different themes of these cats' cute costumes. My favorite section, by far, was the regional cats of Japan. I'll never get over the Ishikawa cat with it's Kanazawa station hat.
This is a fabulous addition to any cat-lovers shelf, and it gets double points if you have any interest in Japan. I hope there are more to come!
