Falling in Love with a Traveling Cat: Mofusand's 1st Illustration Book! is a cute illustrated book following a bunch of cats and their adventures on vacation. The illustrations are lovely- you basically get to see a bunch of cute cats doing a bunch of cute things like dressing up, eating, relaxing, and enjoying a vacation.

My biggest question is -who is this book for? It's written with one short sentence per page, as if it's a young children's book, and the content matter is indeed suitable for young children. But there's over 100 pages, way too long for a young child, and the story is really bare. It's just 100 pages of cute cats doing cute things on vacation. While I enjoyed the illustrations, I found myself flipping quickly through and looking at the beautiful illustrations, but not really reading any of the text as it was quite simplistic.

Either way, if you are a cat lover, you'll love the beautiful illustrations of cats doing their cute vacation stuff in this easy going, simplistic illustration book!

I barely remember my first encounter with Mofusand. All I know was that one day they were everywhere in Japan. Stationery, stickers, plush. I was buying all I could because it was so cute I couldn't resist. It's been years, and that still hasn't changed, though Mofusand hasn't become quite as accessible in the US yet. So, I'm very happy to see this adorable book! It's great for fans new or old, and I think anyone who likes cats will enjoy it. It's mainly an art book, but they've done a great job of adding a little story to help group the different themes of these cats' cute costumes. My favorite section, by far, was the regional cats of Japan. I'll never get over the Ishikawa cat with it's Kanazawa station hat.
This is a fabulous addition to any cat-lovers shelf, and it gets double points if you have any interest in Japan. I hope there are more to come!
