Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The Perfect Baby. Honestly I was confused for 50% of the book, I couldn’t figure out what exactly was going on, BUT then WOW!!! When it came together, it totally blew me away! The library scene was not realistic, too coincidental. I was upset with Maya’s decision, did not agree at all, nothing will change my mind with that. The second half of the book, was totally insane and I loved every bit of it. Try sticking with it, you will definitely be glad you did.

This is quite a dark and twisted read which surprised me, but in a good way! There are too many samey books on the market lately but this one by Sam really stood out. Well writen and believable, I really enjoyed it and as a mother, understood the desparation!

Nothing will stop Elise from being a mother. Literally nothing.
I very much enjoyed this. I've read a couple of thrillers about surrogacy before and the first main twist didn't surprise me much. However, all the others after that did surprise me. The main characters are somehow all relatable and you feel slight empathy for all of them, which I don't think I've ever felt before. The ending was BY FAR my favorite part. It is very emotional and dark and I was unabashedly rooting for Elise.
My only critique is it drags a bit in the middle, could've been shorter and it would've been just as remarkable.
I definitely recommend it and I'll be checking out Sam's other books!

This book was full of tense mystery. There was a constant rumbling of what was going on and hints about the characters pasts. The story kept me hooked all the way through.
I found both the main characters Maya and Elise very likeable and even when the back story is finally revealed, yes my opinion changed but it left me with very mixed thoughts based on what I learnt.
This is definitely one of Sam Vickerys best book. I'd highly recommend it.

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. This book was definitely a roller coaster ride and the twists were amazing! I actually went back a few pages at times to make sure that's what I just read. It ended in a cliffhanger so I'm hoping there will be a second part. I would have given a 5 star review but the "f" bomb was a little too much for me. It definitely was a spin on a typical surrogacy story.

Firstly, thank you to Bookouture, Sam Vickery & Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for honest feedback!

I genuinely couldn't put The Perfect Baby down! When I first started reading, I thought I knew how the story was going to go but I was realllly wrong!

The pace was perfect & Sam dropped in little nuggets of information throughout to keep you invested until the very end. It was dark, emotional & twisty and I felt every emotion that the characters were feeling.

I didn't see the twists coming & it's not often I read a thriller like that so I absolutely loved it!

I would definitely recommend it & I'll be checking out Sam's other books! Thank you!

Another great book from this author with good characters that kept me involved in the storyline.

I think this is a different read to Sam's other books but just as good and I can thoroughly recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

My Oh My! This was such a good book! The story moves at a nice swift pace and the story for each of the three characters are very interesting. The surprises sneak up on you and then they just keep on coming until the explosive ending! Loved the ending! I thank Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book and I can’t wait to read more books by this author.

Wow this book really went somewhere I wasn’t expecting very quickly and actually shocked me with the ending and that doesn’t happen very often these days. This is a fast paced drama that would make a great TV drama as it just keeps you on the edge of your seats and does not let go. It follows two women who meet at a surrogacy support group one woman is due to give birth to a baby she is having for a lovely couple who can’t have a child of there own and the other one is waiting for the birth of her child that her sister is carrying for her. As they both near the due dates fears and truths have a habit of being revealed and is there more to why they have become friends than first seen. I loved this book!

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. Although the start of the book was quite slow, with little being revealed, the second half was a tense and completely unpredictable ride. It is hard to review without giving away spoilers, but the plot worked perfectly and felt truly unique rather than rehashing well-worn tropes. It was emotional and the characters Vickery created were very realistic. The ending left me hungry for more.

Wow. The Perect Baby is an adventure. I felt like I was on a roller coaster reading the book. The twists and turns keep you on track. Elise meets Maya at a surrogate support group. It is for the parents and surrogates. Elise can't have any children and her sister, Julia, is caring a baby boy for her. Maya is a surrogate for Nina and Will and is carrying a girl. The story pulls you in like a spider in a web. A must read in September. The book was read in a couple hours.

Good. It's just not one of my favourites and I do think the plot is a little bit forgettable. It's definitely one that some people will adore.

This intriguing novel, written by a talented author, is a page turner. Realistic characters, along with secrets, keep the story moving. I did have a problem with keeping the voices separate. That being said, this is a cannot put down story. Thanks Netgalley.

The Perfect Baby, by Sam Vickery took me on a wild ride!

Elise wanted to be a mother and nothing would stop her! This book had been screaming out loud as I didn't see the twist it took at all. This would be great on the big screen and I won't be surprised when it happens.

This story took me on an emotional rollercoaster. I absolutely loved it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the DRC of this book.

I will absolutely be recommending this book!

Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. The publication date is the 27th Sept. This was a jaw dropping plot with many suspenseful moments that kept me glued to my kindle.

I liked both of the main characters Elise and Maya if I had to pick a favourite it would be Maya as at times I felt sorry for her throughout the book.

The twists in this book got twister by the minute I loved it and they were totally unexpected! This book had all the elements of a fantastic psychological thriller and I’d highly recommend this book!

I’ve read A LOT of thrillers in my lifetime, and a few of those have been about surrogacy. I’d say most of them were good, and although the plot lines were slightly similar, they all had different endings. I was ready for a new take on an old trope when I started this one, which began the same as the others.

We have two main characters: Elise and Maya. Elise’s sister Julia is being her surrogate. She had a relationship that went sour, wanted to have a baby on her own but physically couldn’t, so her cold, distant sister reluctantly agreed to the arrangement. Soon though, Julia is leaving Elise out of appointments and avoiding her calls. Surely she doesn’t want to keep the baby…(they always want to keep the baby!)

Maya is a surrogate for a couple named Nina and Will. She and Elise met in a surrogacy group and soon became friends. Maya also had a relationship that ended poorly; that combined with the surrogacies gave them a lot to talk about. Elise soon suspects that Maya wants to keep the baby she is carrying as well. As Julia and Maya get further into their pregnancies, things are starting to get tense for everyone.

Then EVERYTHING CHANGED with a twist that completely caught me off guard. This definitely didn’t follow the formula of other surrogacy thrillers I’ve read - this was a shocking page turner that made me want to read the beginning again to see if there were any clues I missed! There were a couple of implausible things, but for the most part, this was a very twisty and twisted ride. 4.5 stars, rounded up.

(Thank you to Bookouture for inviting me on this book tour. “The Perfect Baby” is slated to be released on September 27, 2024.)
