Great book about the National Parks. It’s a must read if you are headed to one or just want to learn something.
This book is truly stunning! Mohammad shares a bit about her story in beginning to fall in love with the national parks before providing us a one to three page summary of each park. What made this book truly unique was that Mohammad had quotes or feedback from rangers or frequent visitors to each park, giving tips and tricks about some of the best things about that particular park. The photography was stunning, but the visual lay out and print had a retro vibe that just wraps you in a road trip hug. It is rare for me to pick up on so many nuggets of information in such a grand overview type of book, but I found myself jotting down trails or names of look-outs or tours as I read through the pages. Truly, probably the best National Parks book I have come across!
I loved this so much! It's truly amazing how diverse the American terrain is—so much beauty, across such a vast area. This is a wonderful resource. While not comprehensive, the choices are excellent and every area of the US is represented. The photos are gorgeous and on their own would be enough to influence choices on which park to visit next. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

The book is organized by geographical order and offers quick facts about the size, established date, visitation numbers, and more. They also include many amazing pictures that accompany the stories.
This book was fun to read, and it made me want to go to the parks based on the pictures and stories that were told. The book was easy to read and could be read in little chunks of time. I think this would be a perfect coffee table book for any national park lover.

This book has some really great information in it and I enjoy the way the information on the parks is presented. Specifically, how each park's name follows the same pattern as the NPS signage and that they included an information table for each park. However, I was hoping for more illustrated images by artists as that is what drew me to the cove, the first few pictures, and the last few but didn't see it included throughout the book.
Overall a good resource for individuals looking to learn more about the national parks.
National Parks Uncovered has a tag line that it is for park lovers, and anyone obsessed with the idea. I must cast my lot in with this group. I am particularly favorable to RMNP, which the author expressed was her start too. America’s 63 parks are covered in this guide and broken out by region. There are some step-by-step details, such as what is a national park, notes on how the national park system works, and tips and suggestions. You will find pictures and stories from everyday people who work in the parks or travelers who just enjoy experiencing the majestic beauty. Allow yourself to explore vicariously through this guide or be inspired to organize your next journey. I love that real people have shared their thoughts, opinions, and experiences as it makes it seem all the more attainable.
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.
As someone who works in a national park this book was so fun to read through and learn about other places. This book added so many new parks and ideas to my bucket list. Such a great read for all outdoorsy people.
Over the past few years, I've started to pick up a few books about National Parks--maybe the pandemic spurred a new interest in the outdoors. This book is organized well, has lovely photos, and spends more time than you'd usually find on the personal stories of parks-lovers. However, I really wish that the book had included more of the illustrations that show up at the start and end of the book--I would love to have a book of them on my shelf.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
This book is the perfect addition to an outdoorsy bookworm like myself. Every page includes information about a national park and land acknowledgement for the 63 national parks in the US. The photographs are stunning and the anecdotes from local park rangers and hikers was a nice touch. I hope to visit more national parks in my life.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for an early electronic copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
An Instagram post will be made closer to the publication date.
I loved the concept of this book, each being accompanied with beautiful photographs. With the thoughts of the Rangers and others on each of the parks, it brought some of the potential splendour of each park, some of which many miss when they visit. Whilst limited information is given on what is at each park there is the web site link so you can find out more before visiting.
One very minot grip was I would have liked a map or maps showing the location of the parks. As a non US resident, it would have made easier reference when thinking of visiting an area, especially as the parks are grouped into areas in the book.
Overall a fantastic book.
Thank you for the advanced reader copy. I came across this book right as my wanderlust was at an all time high and I can say with certainty that it one of the things that pushed me to make the plans and go. While I appreciate the history of these parks. I particularly loved that indigenous facts were included in each park highlight. I kind of wish there was more. The pictures are stunning and I think the text does a good job of reminding the reader of the realities of these wild spaces.
This would be the perfect book to gift to the adventurer in your life.
