Unsurprisingly, I loved this one.

I really liked seeing Samantha and Xavier’s relationship progression. Their first meeting. Their first date. Then seeing them navigate a long distance relationship.

I really enjoyed seeing them open up to each other about the really hard things because they felt so comfortable so quickly.

There were so many cute moments, funny moments, tender moments, and heartbreaking moments.

I liked seeing Samantha and her family navigate her mother’s dementia. Seeing them figure out the tasks and how to support each other. It was hard to see Samantha process her grief about losing her mother but also choosing to continue to make memories with her.

This book felt like a big warm hug. Even with all the heavier stuff, I felt comforting.

Abby Jimenez is establishing herself as the master of the romance and rom-com genre. This book is just adding to her repertoire.

Even though it is a romance with many laugh out loud moments, this novel also tackles a tough topic as Samantha, our main female character, moves from Minnesota back to sunny California to help in devising a care plan, along with the rest of her family, for their 55 year old mother's onset of dementia. This book hit home with me as my own mother was diagnosed with dementia at 65. The details and progression of the characteristics of the disabling disease were spot on and heart wrenching.

Let's get back to the romance, Abby Jimenez's forte. Will a long distance relationship between 28 year old Samantha, a social media advertiser, and Xavier, a hunky but stoic 29 year old vet, pan out with the 2,000 mile plus distance gap? Throw in an intense love for animals, two people who want to document the memorable moments in a relationship, some cool pop culture references, and a retired vet named Hank, who emerges as a "save the day" hero and my favorite character, and you've got yourself a winner.

I am outlier here. I adore Abby Jimenez's books, especially her male characters and Xavier Rush, hot veterinarian did not disappoint. I would have liked more development of Sam's siblings. I think I was just looking for a lighter book and there was a lot of sadness.

I love all of Abby's book and this one is no exception. I think her writing just gets better and better and the complexities of the relationships just get more real with every book. This book was heart breaking and affirming at the same time. So good!

I really enjoyed the creativity and exploration of a long distance relationship in this book. While difficult and seeming impossible to maintain at times, Abby was still able to convey how much these two characters loved each other and were willing to make it work. I also enjoyed the family aspect--it reminded me of Full House ha and brought me tons of comfort!
The pacing in this was a bit fast for me! I get why since this couple barely got to see each other throughout the story, so speeding things along felt necessary at times, but there were parts that felt a bit rushed and less structured for me. Overall I enjoyed it and I'm very excited to reread when the audiobook is live!

Say You’ll Remember Me was everything I have come to love in an Abby Jimenez novel. The story was laugh out loud funny, kick your feet giggling romantic and gut wrenchingly hearting breaking all at once. Xavier Rush was “If He Wanted To He Would” personified and Samantha was brave and funny and confident and intelligent.

This novel was not only extremely entertaining, but it also helped me reframe how I see relationships with family members that aren’t what I hoped they would be differently. I thought about my life and my family and made some phone calls. Because more than anything this books helps you see that life is short and very hard, but it is beautiful and worth living.

Jimenez has done it again with this best in class, stunning romance. Featuring dimensional characters, with healthy internal lives and complex career and family dynamics, “Say you’ll Remember me” gracefully avoids the tropes and pitfalls of the modern romance genre and reads more like literary fiction.

I had an absolute blast from chapter one and sobbed as the characters struggled to process their trauma and its impact on their relationships. This book is the perfect mix of sweet and salty. The Chicago mix of books if you will. The characters have such unique voices and I appreciated the timely references and overall tone. The only thing that might have made me enjoy it more is a few additional interactions between the romantic leads and ensemble cast.

This book sets the gold standard for the appropriate response to the “would you still love me if I were a worm” question. After reading this, I feel so grateful for the small, mundane moments of day-to-day life.

I don’t know how Abby Jimenez just doesn’t seem to ever miss in her writing, releasing enough to keep her fans happy but not compromising quality. In Say You’ll Remember Me we see Abby Jimenez effortlessly balance a remarkable romance with heavy family events, all wrapped up in humor.

Samantha is our heroine, having saved a kitten with no bumhole, which brings her Xavier’s vet practice. Xavier is also every bit our hero, saving puppies and kittens alike - though the day these two meet isn’t the best for him. Samantha and Xavier have instant chemistry and are opposites in a complimentary way - but Samantha is moving to California after their first date. This story focuses on what happens to the relationship after the move, Xavier’s past, and Samantha’s present. I adored the humor which kept some of the heavier events which were extremely realistic from getting to be too much. I also loved the wisdom throughout. This is definitely a book I’ll be rereading, and will encourage others to pick up.

Wow. I have read all of Abby’s books and I think this is her best one yet. This book was SO well written. The storylines complemented each other perfectly. I didn’t feel like there was too much going on - she tackled some tough things but the writing made me feel like I was right there experiencing it with the characters (it doesn’t happen often, but when it does and I feel like that reading it, I know the book will be a favorite of mine!). Most of all, the overarching themes of love and family were phenomenal. Bravo Ms. Jimenez, what a book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the early copy.

At this point I will read Abby Jimenez's grocery list. The woman can do nothing wrong in my eyes. It's interesting because this isn't even my favorite genre, but I will read anything she writes. I absolutely loved this story. A couple who are seemingly separated by distance, financial strains and family issues made the decision that life is better together, even they spend more time apart.

Please check trigger warnings (she does warn you about the sensitive topics) so please don't overlook that as it can be triggering. Easy 5 stars. Loved it.

I got an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book after binge reading many Abby Jimenez books. I love how immersed I felt into the worlds of the two main characters. Samantha and Xavier meet in a vet's office and go on one date before Samantha moves far away to take care of her mother. Xavier, the vet, has just opened his own practice and is deep in debt. They both need to stay where they are but at the same time need to be together. A lovely story that will keep the reader involved. I really liked both characters from the start and wanted to see them happy.

This book is my new favorite from Jimenez! Great twists and turns with characters that you really care about.

Books about caregiving are hard, especially when it's for a family member with dementia. This is not a non-stop feel-good romance, but I think you knew that based on the author. It's burnout, it's heartbreak, it's just a LOT.

But could I put it down? Absolutely not. I loved watching Samantha reluctantly fall for Xavier. It was worth it to see all of the snide Murkle's Mustard captions, Pooter growing up with a brand new butthole, and getting Come On Eileen stuck in my head. This is a book about chasing your joy and finding glimmers in the less joyful bits. And man, will I remember it.

This book was beautiful, tear jerking, witty, and so very heartwarming. It showed the gritty and longing side of love in all relationships, not just romantic ones. I will think about this book and these characters for the rest of my life. Abby truly has a way with words and story telling.

I can't believe I waited so long to read a book by Abby Jimenez. Until now, I had only heard positive things about her and now I understand why. I am officially a fan and would happily read anything she writes.

The love story between Samantha and Xavier really worked for me. While there were a few plot points that didn’t quite make sense, I chose not to nitpick. I mean, if a hot veterinarian took me on a dog adoption cruise and saved a dog from heatstroke in the middle of summer, I would definitely fall in love immediately and might even call him a VILF too! I also loved how open they were about their struggles with mental health and their family issues.

Also, some of the topics discussed in the book, such as dementia and heart problems were difficult to read. Jimenez addressed these issues and their impact on family and mental well-being with sensitivity and grace. I felt she did a great job of incorporating these serious themes into the narrative.

Everything Abby Jimenez touches is magic, and this is no exception. Her characters are so relatable and down-to-earth with real flaws, and that’s part of what makes her books so perfect.

I loved every single character, and genuinely could not put this book down. Once again, the story she told made me both laugh and cry. The relationship between Samantha and Xavier was unique to other romances I’ve read, but in the best way ever. Out of all of the couples in her books, these two are my favorite.

I say this about every book she writes, but this one is my new favorite. It was just SO good!

This book…I cant even form words to say what I want to say. It’s a love story like Abby Jimenez is a master of delivering. But it is also an epic story about love, and the people who love us, and the people who don’t, and who we choose to love, and all the ways love can change. Read it. You’ll love it.

What a wonderful book!
Samantha leaves Minnesota for California to assist with the care of her mother who has dementia. What she left behind was Dr Xavier Rush, someone who she dated only once but felt an immediate connection with. Their relationship was uncovered very early on in this book and I was fearful that this may be off putting to the story but it was perfectly delivered along with well developed characters and storylines. Typical Abby fashion, not disappointed.
How will this long distance relationship work?
So many likable characters in this book… from Samantha’s family that needs to get over their personality conflicts and lack of effective communication to deal with mom’s illness to a few people in Xavier’s life with complex issues of their own. My favorite is Hank who you meet about 2/3 of the way through the book. He may be the best one of them all.
Side note: I will never hear the song Come On Eileen the same way again.

Abby Jimenez is the queen of non-cheesy romance. She is also the best at writing realistic dialogue. This one felt less spicy than her others. Really enjoyed it, a fun and fluffy read with more “meat” to it than your typical romance novel.

This one got five stars for me - love reading books that don’t follow the typical romance formula. I also loved the depth - it was painful but healing in so many ways. Grateful to have had the opportunity to read this one as an advanced copy!
