Xavier and Samantha might start out on the wrong foot, but pretty quickly realize they are meant to be. Except, life might get in the way first. Abby Jimenez thoughtfully addresses serious topics, including child abuse, early onset dementia, and death of a loved one, while at same time creating a love story for the ages. Can Xavier and Samantha find a way to be together or will love from a distance forever be their fate?

Another winner from Abby Jimenez! From the very beginning of the book I found myself invested in Xavier and Samantha, both as individuals and as partners. The escape room scene was described so perfectly that I felt like I was there with them. Samantha's mother's role in this story was handled beautifully. The struggles of the family were real and emotional, yet didn't overwhelm the love story between Xavier and Samantha. I would highly recommend this book for lovers of romance and Abby Jimenez novels!

Wow.  Just WOW.  This book sucked me in and I could not put it down. I laughed. I cried (sobbing is more accurate) and the characters became a part of my life.  Abby Jimenez did such a wonderful job bringing Xavier and Sam to life as well as the other characters we meet throughout the story.  She wove together a beautiful love story between all the characters.  Through the story we learn what it takes to hold together a long distance relationship, how to move past a shattered relationship with your parents, how to reconnect with a loved one whose memory is taken away from them and how to, most importantly, hold onto the ones we love more then anything.

The relationship between Xavier and Sam is the most prominent relationship in the book.  Having shared an unforgettable night together, Sam askes the unthinkable of Xavier - forget her.  Instead begins the remarkable lengths they will go through to be with each other.

Abby Jimenez has worked her magic again and has given us a beautiful love story.  Definitely recommend!

I thought that this plot was unique. I found the characters to be very likeable and at times the plot was very devastating. The pacing was a little slow at times, but overall I enjoyed reading.

A romance love story and a familial love story in one. I do wish there had been more tension between the lead characters other than just separation by circumstance but I enjoyed it all the same. A great slice of life and a look at the highs and lows of mundane reality.
Four stars.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

Every time I read an Abby Jimenez novel I fall more in love with her writing. This one was emotional from beginning to end and focused on so much more than just the characters love story. I loved both main characters and Xavier was definitely swoon worthy (I’m also a sucker for a grumpy sunshine mmc). This was a gem of a read as per usual with a Jimenez work!

I love me an Abby Jimenez romance and SAY YOU'LL REMEMBER ME hits all the feels. In fact, maybe a few too many.

This book starts with a quick stint as Enemies and then a truly epic first date that has all of the perfect beginnings of a wonderful relationship. This date had laughs and folly and chemistry and I loved the entire set-up.

But then, Xavier and Samantha spend the rest of the book in a state of constant trauma and difficulty. This was a pretty heavy read after those first few chapters and stayed fraught for basically the rest of the book until the very end.

I did really love this book, but I wish SAY YOU'LL REMEMBER ME had hit a better balance of lightness and difficulties. As it is, you will love these characters, feel all the feels, and long for a much more open-door on the sex scenes (as least I did).

SAY YOU'LL REMEMBER ME still gets a 4.5 STARS rounded up to 5 from me. If you are ready to feel all the feels and fall in love with Xavier and Samantha you must read this book.

SPICE LEVEL: Rated PG / Kissing and awareness that characters sleep together. Closed Door.
CONTENT WARNING: parent with alzheimer's, animal cruelty, abusive parents, parent estrangement
FEELS: 4/5 - Tackled some seriously tough topics.
POV: Dual - M/F - 1st Person

Another Abby Jimenez book that leaves me in tears but so so hopeful! Wow!

Xavier and Samantha showing up for one another, being there in the chaos, and choosing each other was beautiful to read.

When I say I love Abby Jimenez, I genuinely mean it. Her books bring me to tears, but offer a truly heartwarming experience. This book delves into heartbreak in various forms and explores ways to heal from it. As someone who values family deeply, this book made me reflect on my own relationships. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves humor and a story that tugs at your heartstrings.

Abby Jimenez, you’ve captured my heart yet again. I SCREAMED when I saw I was selected for an arc read for this one because her last book was one of my favorite reads of the year and this book has earned that title for 2025!

Abby writes such authentic and real characters. Real situations and life and doesn’t gloss over it. Xavier and Samantha were the definition of love at first sight and I ate it up. The way they better each other and fight for each other is so dang sweet it nearly made me cry. Seeing these two go through trial after trial and coming out on top was such a rewarding journey. I love them forever, and I’ll never forget them 🥲 (iykyk)

The topics of parent abuse and dementia were handled so delicately but also so real. Both subjects are incredibly difficult to get into but Abby did it so well in my opinion.

Also special shout out to Hank. I love you.

Another absolute masterpiece by Abby Jimenez. I laughed, I cried, I hugged my husband and my dogs tight. This book beautifully showed the realities of long distance relationships and living with memory care patients, and yet I still laughed out loud multiple times (the dog is in Witness Protection and is named Jake from State Farm -- who wouldn't love this book?). Also, there's ACOTAR references. 10/10.

Thank you so much to the publisher for this e-arc!

Abby Jimenez’s Say You’ll Remember Me is everything you want in a romance—heartfelt, funny, and completely unforgettable. The characters feel so real, and the story hits you right in the feels while still making you laugh out loud. It’s a beautiful mix of love, second chances, and all the emotions that come with it.

Abby Jimenez is an auto-buy author for me, and this book is another perfect example of why. She blends whimsy and misery in a way that completely captivates while tackling real-world, rarely discussed issues.

Love, love this so much! I only discovered Abby Jimenez last summer, and after reading her wildly popular Just for the Summer, I just had to read her entire backlist. I enjoyed every single one. When I was able to get an arc of her new book, of course I jumped on it (thank you, NetGalley!).
Xavier is a veterinarian who meets Samantha when he flatly tells her that she should euthanize the kitten she found because it won’t survive without an expensive surgical procedure. She tells him off, raises money for her kitty, and he is forced to admit he was wrong. They go on one date (extra-long because of circumstances beyond their control) before she moves from Minnesota back to her childhood home in California.
Jimenez has created another couple of characters who grapple with real-life difficult situations amid their love story. Samantha’s family is wrestling with her mother’s early onset dementia as it progresses, creating strife among her father, grandmother, and siblings. Xavier, driven by the need to prove his abusive parents wrong, works endless hours at his clinic and local animal rescue shelters. Samantha and Xavier seem to be locked into their long-distance romance for the foreseeable future, living for all-too-brief times when they can reconnect.
As usual, Jimenez made me laugh and cry multiple times. The scenes with Samantha’s mother are especially poignant for anyone with a family member who has dementia. Beautiful and heartwarming—highly recommended!

First of all, this has got to be the funniest, cutest "Meet-Cute" of all time. FMC meets MMC when she brings an abandoned kitten to his vet clinic where she finds out that it has no BUTT HOLE. He recommends euthanasia as the surgery is extremely expensive, and she refuses stubbornly saying she'll come up with the funds. She starts the most adorable Go Fund Me in the history of time, and the rest is history.

Well, sort of. Tragically, the two have a once-in-a-lifetime first date, but then FMC character is moving out of the area to help in the care of her mom who has advanced dementia.

I won't give any major spoilers, but I have to say that some of the MC's decisions after this point just seemed unrealistic and serving only to force the main conflict of the book. I felt like there was a fairly simple and obvious solution to their problem and they just kept making it worse. Especially the FMC's behavior was almost bordering on acting the martyr.

With that being said, the narrative really kept me engaged. The humor was perfect IMO - enough to keep a mostly heavy topic somewhat lighthearted while not devolving into silliness. I loved the pop culture references, and the overall tone.

I believe many readers are going to absolutely love this book -- I enjoyed but couldn't get fully onboard.

I laughed…I cried like a baby…this book just gives you all the feels. I feel like no amount of words would be good enough for a review because WOW. JUST WOW.

I am so so honored to have been chosen to ARC read this book. As a romance lover, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and a granddaughter to someone living with Alzheimer’s Disease, this book is everything. Abby did it again. Sam and Xavier are everything. The portrayal of the family caregivers is everything. The complexities of duty and desire are everything. This is her best book yet.

this one was sweet and sexy…. love a romcom where the guy is completely obsessed (in a good way) with the girl.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for offering me an arc of Say You’ll Remember Me! This was a very cute, yet complex romance novel as it dealt with many deeper topics. Abby Jimenez is very hit or miss for me. She didn’t completely miss in this book, but I do feel like, at times, it is a bit TOO cheesy for me. If you are an extra cheesy romance lover, you may really enjoy this. I know many people have had nothing but great things to say about Abby’s books, and that makes me happy because I love supporting a local author (I live in MN as well).
Overall, I think that this book didn’t exceed any expectations I had because it just felt a bit more repetitive than her past books, with less of a plot and more of the main characters inner feelings about the obviously tough situation they are in while doing long distance after first meeting.
Not completely my cup of tea, but I would say that Abby Jimenez fans should still read and see for themselves!!

A cat with no butthole, mustard, a VILF, and a UFO escape room walked into a bar… Come On Eileen began to play.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

While this is definitely not my favorite Abby Jimenez book, I still very much enjoyed myself, and that’s the kind of book I want to read. I giggled and smiled and cried and awwww’d.

Other reviews have pointed this out but there was a lot of telling not showing when it came to Sam and Xavier’s love. Would’ve loved a bit more on their times together.
I will say this, I LOVEEEEEEEED Xavier as a character. He was interesting and sweet and incredible and lovely and a total simp. I love a simp MMC. Samantha however… she was a little selfish for my tastes, and while I love to turn my brain off around my man (which thank fuck I can do so sometimes!), relationships are 100/100, and this was Xavier putting in ALL the emotional heavy lifting.
Something feels missing here, especially compared to Yours Truly (my fav) where it was so perfectly flushed out and well rounded story & characters.

Regardless if you’re an Abby Jimenez fan you’re going to like it, overall a nice read!
