Everything Abby Jimenez touches is magic, and this is no exception. Her characters are so relatable and down-to-earth with real flaws, and that’s part of what makes her books so perfect.
I loved every single character, and genuinely could not put this book down. Once again, the story she told made me both laugh and cry. The relationship between Samantha and Xavier was unique to other romances I’ve read, but in the best way ever. Out of all of the couples in her books, these two are my favorite.
I say this about every book she writes, but this one is my new favorite. It was just SO good!
This book…I cant even form words to say what I want to say. It’s a love story like Abby Jimenez is a master of delivering. But it is also an epic story about love, and the people who love us, and the people who don’t, and who we choose to love, and all the ways love can change. Read it. You’ll love it.
What a wonderful book!
Samantha leaves Minnesota for California to assist with the care of her mother who has dementia. What she left behind was Dr Xavier Rush, someone who she dated only once but felt an immediate connection with. Their relationship was uncovered very early on in this book and I was fearful that this may be off putting to the story but it was perfectly delivered along with well developed characters and storylines. Typical Abby fashion, not disappointed.
How will this long distance relationship work?
So many likable characters in this book… from Samantha’s family that needs to get over their personality conflicts and lack of effective communication to deal with mom’s illness to a few people in Xavier’s life with complex issues of their own. My favorite is Hank who you meet about 2/3 of the way through the book. He may be the best one of them all.
Side note: I will never hear the song Come On Eileen the same way again.
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.
Abby Jimenez is the queen of non-cheesy romance. She is also the best at writing realistic dialogue. This one felt less spicy than her others. Really enjoyed it, a fun and fluffy read with more “meat” to it than your typical romance novel.
This one got five stars for me - love reading books that don’t follow the typical romance formula. I also loved the depth - it was painful but healing in so many ways. Grateful to have had the opportunity to read this one as an advanced copy!
Well this book was INCREDIBLE. And when I say incredible...I MEAN INCREDIBLE. I'm simultaneously so glad I read it in one sitting—because that means it was amazing—but I'm also mad at myself for reading it so fast and not savoring it. I am unwell.
Also the title. Say You'll Remember Me because it's giving Wildest Dreams and Say You'll Remember Me because her mom has dementia. Pass the tissues please omg.
I just can't get over how good this was. My heartstrings were YANKED. It felt different than her other books, but also similar in the sense that the characters are well-developed and have emotional backstories. Plus the way all of her characters feel distinct from one another...love it.
I loved how Xavier and Samantha's relationship started right away, and it followed the ups and downs of a long distance relationship + balancing it with work and life. It's a refreshing concept after reading so many romance books that follow the same relationship development formula. You don't see their relationship type represented much in books, but it's a type of relationship that's common in real life (i.e. fighting for love + trying to make long distance work, when each person has their own struggles and life challenges). It truly captured the essence of Wildest Dreams.
And the way they found pockets of happiness with each other through hard times? Screaming crying throwing up. They just need a year of uninterrupted together time and sleep. Also Xavier was the ideal yet realistic book boyfriend. There was a part of his plot that was giving invisible string theory and I was reeling in a good way. This might be my new favorite Abby Jimenez book, dethroning Yours Truly.
Thank you so much to Forever Pub for sending me an ARC of Say You'll Remember Me. As always, my reviews are one hundred percent voluntary and all opinions are my own :)
I love Abby Jimenez! This book was really cute and fun while also being real and facing hard topics. I would recommend this book and say read it. I might have gotten teary eyed at the end there, but in a good way!
There are slightly spicy scenes, but they are short, vague, and mostly things like clothing removed not detailed actions.
Abby Jimenez does it once again! I don’t know what she puts in her books but she makes them so addicting, easy to read, engaging, full of laugh out loud moments, sad, hopeful, full of love, and she always sets the bar so high (for men and the other books I read).
I absolutely loved the characters in this book. They both had such tragic life stories that they constantly persevered through and they were just meant to come together.
The universe really fought against them and threw everything in their way but they had such unconditional love and perseverance. Their unwavering commitment to each other and their loyalty was like no other. I could never have survived with all those things thrown at me and then thrown at my relationship as well.
I have to say that this book felt more women’s fiction than romance than her others, with the heavy themes and focus on things like family but the romance was amazing as well.
You absolutely better pick this book up the moment it comes out!
p.s. remind me to do an escape room for my next first date ;)

Abby Jimenez never misses and Say You'll Remember Me was no exception! This is such a beautiful, emotional story about two people who fall very quickly and deeply in love and struggle to make things work due to factors outside of their control. It will absolutely destroy you and put you back together in the very best way. Thanks to Forever and NetGalley for the advanced copy!
A book like this elevates romance novels to a new level. With a clever dose of real life tensions and struggles, Abby Jimenez doesn’t hold back from challenging her characters while simultaneously giving them a romance for the ages. Family realities are always at the heart of Jimenez’s books, and this one is no exception. A rich, rewarding read that will have you laughing out loud one moment and wiping your eyes the next.
Another win by Abby! You can tell how much she cares through her writing; it is so personal, and so emotion filled you will see part of yourself in her stories. I felt this was one of her more complex stories, with quite heavy topics. Never before have I read a story with such driving forces against the leads from being together. I felt it was a very interesting perspective to take on and show...life is never easy, but with your loved ones around anything is possible.
Abby Jimenez is one of my new favorite authors. This book (no spoilers here) touches on several contemporary themes: long distance romances, family trauma, dementia, death. But it does it with at least one laugh on every page!
Jimenez knows how to get us really involved in her stories. Her character development and dialogue are top tier. Her characters are so likable, so real. There’s always something about them or the plot we can relate to and that makes her stories feel real.
Thanks to Forever for this free ARC. All opinions are my own. #HighlyRecommend
Abby Jimenez delivers another beautiful story with Say You’ll Remember Me. As a long-time fan of her work, I was eager to dive into her latest offering, and it did not disappoint. While her previous books are known for their heartfelt romance and skimming the surface of complex issues, this novel ventures into deeper, more challenging territory, but it’s just as romantic.
The emotional depth and character development in this book are truly remarkable. Jimenez doesn't shy away from portraying the complexities of life, especially the struggles of caring for a loved one with dementia. This aspect of the story is handled with sensitivity and realism, shedding light on how such a diagnosis impacts not just the caregiver but their relationships as well. The romance at the heart of the story feels authentic and natural, with love prevailing despite the trials they face. The book's exploration of long-distance relationships was refreshingly real. The frustrations, sacrifices, and moments of doubt were all portrayed with honesty, making the characters’ journey even more relatable.
As always, Jimenez has a gift for balancing humor and heartbreak, and while this book leans more heavily on the emotional side, the story wrap up beautifully and managed to leave me with a smile.
This is one of the BEST romance books I’ve read in a long time (and definitely this year too!)
I think I’m genuinely at a loss for words but I’ll try my best here 😂. I loved Xavier and I loved Samantha. Their connection was not only inspiring but also so incredibly honest. I mean, the universe HAD their back and I LOVED THAT. Plus the banter, the jokes, the humour: ALL on point. I’d totally follow any brand Samantha writes for.
The entire storyline surrounding Samantha’s mom and family was heartbreaking and beautifully written. The epilogue? How it ended with them all in the car!? 🥹🥹🥹🥹😭
Perfection.

Well, Abby Jimenez has done it again—another brilliant novel that had me laughing, crying, and thinking deeply. While Say You'll Remember Me didn’t quite hit 5 stars for me, it came very close. My thoughts are shaped by my own experiences, so while I have some reservations about certain aspects, I still wholeheartedly enjoyed this book.
This novel leans more toward women’s/contemporary fiction than pure romance, which I didn’t mind at all. The emotional depth and character exploration made it all the more compelling. Xavier and Samantha were a dream team. Their chemistry felt natural and authentic, and their differences made them a perfect and unique match. The signature Abby humor was everywhere, and I found myself laughing out loud more times than I can count—a welcome counterbalance to the heavier themes.
One element I deeply appreciated was the nuanced portrayal of Xavier’s childhood and his struggles to reconcile the pain of growing up with abusive parents. The way Jimenez explored his journey—how his past shaped him, his efforts to move forward, and his strength in creating a better life for himself—was incredibly moving and well done. It added a layer of emotional depth that made his character feel raw and real, and I was impressed by how his story was handled with sensitivity.
On the other hand, the pacing felt uneven at times. Some parts of the story were wrapped up too quickly, leaving me a bit surprised when we reached the end. While some dragged on and felt repetitive.
What resonated with me most, though, was the portrayal of Samantha’s mom’s dementia and the impact it had on the family. Abby Jimenez did an excellent job capturing the physical and emotional toll of caregiving, as well as the reality of caregiver burnout. However, I struggled with how long they kept her mom at home toward the end. Their commitment to honoring her wishes was admirable and heart-wrenching, but from my perspective, it began to feel unsafe for both the mom and the family. It’s a tough and deeply personal subject, and while it made me uncomfortable at times, I appreciated the honesty in showing the complexity of such decisions.
Overall, this was a heartfelt and memorable read with characters who will stick with me for a long time.
Say You’ll Remember Me is a standalone title written by Abby Jimenez.
Expected publication date is April 1, 2025
*Hilarious banter
*Insta love / Long distance relationship
*Family trauma
This book deals with a lot of difficult topics, it is so good, yet so hard to read! Both main characters are dealing with their own family traumas, physical and mental ailments from the FMC’s mother, past childhood abuse on the MMC’s side. It is very difficult to read what they are both experiencing.
I love that the author didn’t let the main characters give up on each other, if this were real life, not many long distance couples would have made it through, many would not have even attempted. The author did an amazing job writing their love story, they definitely deserved their HEA!
There is one part of the book that I didn’t enjoy, or think was needed. The FMC’s father makes some bad decisions that I just cannot wrap my head around as being plausible. The main character, and her siblings, just accepting his decision was even more unrealistic in my opinion. Just a very weird part of the storyline that I personally didn’t agree with, or think was needed.
No OW/OM drama, no third act breakup.
TW: parent with dementia, childhood physical and mental abuse, pet abuse

Even though Abby is an autobuy author for me that doesn’t mean every book is going to be a hit for me. This one was unfortunately a miss. There was a bunch of things that didn’t personally work for me but that does not mean they won’t work for another reader. I am not a big fan of insta love. Now they didn’t say I love you right in the beginning but they did go on their first date and start their relationship all within the first couple of chapters. The pacing of this book was too fast for my liking. There would be time jumps from chapter to chapter that took be out of the story. Overall I do think both Sam and Xavier were a perfect match for each other. They bring out the best for each other and give each other motivation to keep living. I’m sad this one didn’t work out for me but I will still read future books from Abby.
Amazing as usual. I loved the grumpy VILF. I loved the scene that was a threat to feminism. I could totally see that happening and going viral. I love the grumpy sunshine and the villain origins, as well as some very real-life experiences that caused you to have empathy for those going through it. I adored the come on Eileen and the mustard slogans. Abby is a mastermind in storytelling. I have loved everything she has written, and she just keeps getting better every time.

Say You’ll Remember Me enchanted me from the beginning. Who doesn’t love a meet cute involving an animal? Xavier is a dedicated veterinarian who is not known for his bedside manner, but Samantha’s honesty about his demeanor sparks something in Xavier that leads him to asking her out. What a first date! This book deals with family relationships, loss, and purpose. Highly recommend checking it out!
Xavier is a handsome veterinarian. He's not expecting to be blown away by a pushy woman who refused to have her butthole-less kitten put to sleep. But when Samantha calls him an asshole, something in his brain goes haywire and he can't stop thinking about her. He can't believe she agrees to a date when they meet again. He's even more floored when neither wants the date to end and they keep going from activity to activity. But the most unbelievable thing about Samantha, besides the fact that she's perfect for him? She's moving 2000 miles away as soon as their date ends.
This was a contemporary romance with lots of real-life situations added into the mix. Something we've all come to love, expect, and enjoy from Abby Jiminez. I liked how she handled the conflict between Samantha and Xavier dealing with a long-distance relationship. She made it all feel very realistic but didn't take the expected third act upset that most romance tropes follow. I also found the issues arising when caring for a family member with dementia to be very realistic.
There are a lot of hard topics packed into this book but it was still an uplifting romance that felt real.
