This book stated off great. Lots of character build up. As the story went on, I felt like the 2 main characters started to become redundant. We never followed up on Nic's legal troubles and it felt like that story line was a dead end. The twist at the end seems like it came out of nowhere. Nic said she wanted to finish something for the first time, but she never actually finished something.

Loved this one! The Missing Half kept me turning page after page until the very end! Huge twist towards the end that I definitely did not see coming. Ashley Flowers never disappoints and her latest is definitely worth reading!

The Missing Half by Ashley Flowers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I would rate this book more than 5 stars if I could. I am still reeling from the ending of this book. TOTALLY UNEXPECTED.
Nicole’s sister Kasey has gone missing and there are absolutely no leads. While working at her dead end job, she’s approved by Jules. Jules sister has gone missing under similar circumstances and she wants to work together to find their missing sisters.
A gripping novel of sisterhood.

The Missing Half is a story of two women who team up to search for their "missing halves"- the sisters who disappeared within two weeks of each other years ago. Nic Monroe is struggling badly- she's on probation for a DWI and works a dead-end job in her hometown. She's never recovered from her sister Kasey's disappearance. When a stranger approaches her after work one day her first instinct is to tell the woman to go away. But when the woman, Jenna, tells Nic that she is looking into her own sister's disappearance, Nic decides to her her out. They agree to investigate together to find out what the police may have missed. Nic feels hope for the first time in years. But all is not as it seems. The story takes a left turn toward the end which I didn't see coming. Overall a solid book but neither character really stood out to me as very intriguing. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

After reading Flowers’ debut book I could see the making of a good storyteller but in THIS book she proves she has it. The book is gripping from the first sentence and it never lets you go. The chapters read quickly but intriguing so it’s really hard to find a place to put it down. There’s also not a lot of extra background to the story.
I find a lot of thrillers try to bog down the storyline by throwing in plot points that end up not mattering to the story but in this book the focus is on the search for the missing sisters.
The ending is wild. I think I told my husband I had figured out this book at least 3 different times and that was a lot because the ending of this book was not something I foresaw. It does end kind of abruptly; I think an epilogue would have been nice, but then again maybe the ending wouldn’t have had the same impact.
Either way, this is a solid 4.5 stars and I’m already restless for book 3!

Ashley Flowers does it again. A cold case presented and relationships explored.
I stayed up too late reading this mystery, because there was no way I was going to bed with 50 pages left. I couldn’t put it down until every last twist and turn had been revealed. Nic as a character was such an interesting read. You could really feel how stuck she was without her sister, in a dead end job, with no other familial relationships to lean on.
Kept me on the edge of my seat as any Nancy Drew-esque novel should.

I had pretty lukewarm thoughts on Flowers’s first novel but I’m glad I gave her a second chance because this was much stronger than expected! Nic starts out as the typical thriller lead alcoholic archetype, but Flowers carries the story really well with twists I did not see coming - what starts out as a missing girl mystery evolves into a lot of other things to uncover and it made for a quick, fast-paced read with good reveals. I don’t think this is anything super unique which prevents me from giving it a full 5 star rating but for a somewhat generic thriller premise it’s definitely top of the pack.

The Missing Half is the story of two young women who have both lost their sister to a mysterious disappearance in Mishawaka, Indiana over the past few years. Referred to as the Missing Mishawaka Girls, neither case has been solved, leaving both families to their grief and still searching for answers. Nic misses her big sister Kasey more than anything, but the case has gone cold. Now, out of the blue, a girl named Jenna Connor approaches her to ask about Kasey's case. It turns out that Jenna is the sister of the other missing Mishawaka girl, Jules Connor, who has also never been found. Nic and Jenna begin to dig up new details in the case, and soon they find themselves unable to deny some truths that are right in front of them. This story will keep readers guessing and it has a power-packed, satisfying ending as well.

I loved Ashley Flowers first book, All Good People Here, and look forward to her future books. I finished this, but it didn't really hold my interest throughout. I was shocked to realize I was well over halfway and it felt like the book hadn't really started. It was a lot of the two sisters of the disappeared talking about what they should and would do. There wasn't much build up to the end, it just suddenly happened and felt anti-climactic. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

The Missing Half by Ashley Flowers is suspenseful, compelling and heartbreaking all at once.
Two young women disappear without a trace two weeks apart. Both of their cars were found on the side of the road with the driver’s door open and their belongings on the passenger seat. With no real leads or evidence for the police to follow the cases go cold.
Seven years later Jenna searches out Nic, both are sisters of the missing girls. Believing that both disappearances are connected they go in search of answers to the truth of what happened all those years ago. Convinced that there must be something the police missed in the investigations they start digging and what they find may be more devastating than either could have imagined.
Each chapter ends with its own little cliffhanger and you will find that you can’t turn the pages fast enough saying “just one more chapter.” If you’re looking for a twisty quick read, this one is for you.

Nicole's sister mysteriously disappeared leaving her car on the side of the road with all her belongings inside. Eight years later there aren't any answers and Nic's life has never been the same. Her parent's marriage dissolved, she's still working at the same place she did as a teen and now she is dealing with the consequences of a DWI. She doesn't have hope for answers about her sister until she meets Jenna. Jenna's sister disappeared the same mysterious way 2 weeks before Nic's sister. She thinks they can work together to solve their cases. The answers they find will change their lives. What a foreboding mystery!

The Missing Half follows two women in their endeavor to find the truth about their missing sisters, and how their disappearances may be more connected than they once thought.
This was my first read from Ashley Flowers and I really enjoyed her writing style. The pace of the novel was really quick and steady and I had a really hard time putting it down. I really loved the themes of loss, friendship and sisterhood portrayed in this story and I felt like the characters were all written really well.
When reading a mystery or thriller, I find the more realistic the situations and plot lines are, the more I will enjoy it. While the ending of this book did fall a little flat for me in terms of its believability, the characters and a few twists felt incredibly real. The two main characters have spent their adult lives going through the loss of their other halves. Navigating issues like trauma, complicated family dynamics, and addiction. Nic and Jenna’s struggles and unlikely bond are what really make this story.
All in all I had a great time reading this and I look forward to exploring more of the authors work!

Absolutely loved this. Nic's sister went missing years ago along with another girl, both of whom were presumed to have been kidnapped. Nic's life sort of fell apart without her older sister there, and the rest of her family fractured as well. Nic is surviving, trying to pull things together, when she's confronted by the sister of the other girl who was taken. The two of them team together, convinced that with their intimate knowledge of their sisters' lives, they can solve the mystery and find out what happened.
I haven't read Flowers's previous book, but I have enjoyed her podcasts. She's a natural storyteller, and I think she did a wonderful job here. There were moments that were clunky and felt forced, especially the opening scene. But the plot itself is addictive, and the twists and turns at the end came together beautifully. Phenomenal ending - I absolutely loved reading this, and will be recommending it to everyone and anyone that enjoys a good thriller!

Captivated from the start!!!! Wow! What a great fast paced book that gives you all the feels. Mystery/thriller all the way and the end of course blows you away!!!!

The first three fourths of this are an engaging mystery. The clues unfolded naturally, and the friendship the two leads formed seemed real.
The last fourth was utterly bizarre and came out of nowhere. The hammer scene was only there for shock value, and was wholly unnecessary. In the end, I don't know how either of them forgave the other - I'd disown them both immediately. One other thing, the main characters all read like teenagers. I was caught off-guard when one of them mentioned being in their 30s!

Compelling story, and I enjoyed it. Not a stand out really, just a good thriller with a twist. Not the most memorable, but well-written, easy to follow, and not the same story as others.

I really enjoyed Ashley Flowers' first book. The lack of resolution was a neat change from your standard crime novel. This title unfortunately seemed to struggle. The characters were not likable, I assume she wanted to have flawed characters who seemed realistic, but they were awful. The plot didn't keep me interested and I found myself skimming instead of reading.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

Do you like mystery/thrillers that are just creepy enough to make you want to speed through them but you can still sleep at night? This is it!!! I loved All Good People Here and knew I wanted to read The Missing Half when I saw it on Netgalley.
When two girls go missing around the same time, the town suspects a serial killer. What really happened though and after 7 years, is there any chance of finding out the truth?
The two missing girls sisters start digging into their disappearance and they uncover new details that the police never knew. Can they catch the killer and solve the case or will they be next?
Thank you to netgalley for an ARC to review!

A story of two sisters who would do anything for their sister. This book had a couple good twists but definitely not the strongest thriller I’ve read this year. No one was super likable?

Two sisters are haunted by their respective sisters disappearances 7 years ago. They team up to finally solve their disappearances once and for all. I really enjoyed the first 3/4 of this novel but towards the end it got way too predictable and seemed impossible.
