Cash Stash Activity Book by Ilysse Ratner is an enjoyable and creative approach to saving money, but it falls short of being a completely standout tool for financial planning. The book offers 75 fun challenges, ranging from small savings of $50 to larger goals of $10,000+, which can appeal to a wide range of budgets and savings targets.
What I liked about the book is how it makes saving money feel less like a task and more like an interactive experience. There are also a variety of activities catering to different savings goals, such as gifts, emergency funds, or car maintenance, which is helpful for staying on track with specific targets.
However, while the activities are engaging, some of the challenges felt a bit repetitive after a while. It would have been nice to see more variety in the types of tasks beyond the basic saving challenges. Also, although the design is user-friendly with perforated pages, I found the overall presentation to be somewhat simplistic, which may not appeal to those looking for more in-depth financial guidance.
Overall, Cash Stash Activity Book is a good tool for those who enjoy lighthearted ways of saving, but it may not offer enough depth for someone who is looking for a more comprehensive approach to financial planning. It's a fun and motivating resource, but not necessarily groundbreaking. Still, if you're looking for a quirky, enjoyable way to save money in small increments.

This book is only fun if you like to color. It does not help with any kind of strategy to save money.

I was given this book as an ebook, and it doesn't really work in that format as I spent my time just clicking page after page to get past all the drawings which only fit on half the page. I understand that it will be sold as a physical book which would be better as it is just predominantly pages which can be coloured in as you save. I've seen cash stash (or cash stuffing) on social media pages and get what the general idea is. This is different to those though as this just gives you a picture to colour in as you save - so for example there is a tree, and you colour in a leaf for every £1o you save. It's handy I suppose if you want to use the pictures to help you save and there are lots of different pictures with different savings amounts in there. I'd be interested to see the quality of the book and the pages to see whether colouring in would bleed through the pages onto the next etc. It is however an American book, so all the money totals and terminology is in American and as dollars. You could still use it for the UK though and just ignore the dollar part! The book doesn't really tell you anything about cash stashing (or stuffing), and you could probably use items found on the internet just as easily.

An unusual 'coloring book' that allows you to track savings. If only it were that easy. Obvi not very conducive to an electronic read. I would not buy this as it somewhat trivializes saving more than $100K!
