I got to this book rather belatedly. I found it to be an excellent debut that will hold up to the test of time. It portrays war in an honest way while keeping the focus on how it affects those who live through it.

I'm not sure why this book is on my shelf; I did not request it, nor do I intend to read it. This title is not among my preferred genres.
