Really enjoyed this and didn't want to stop reading it. Very well paced, gripped from the start and far too believable when it came to the technology and how it could be abused.

If future books from this author are as good, I'll look forward to reading them.

This amazing story was non stop action from beginning to end. It was a very compulsive read, to reach the conclusion was paramount. A great variety of characters and a premise which is a real possibility. Frightening!

Thank you to NetGalley, Gotham Bookworks, and especially J.D. Redvale for this eARC of The Quantum Grail.

Military thrillers are only ever rarely my thing (unless it's Scalzi's Old Man's War series, then bring it on!), but the Quantum Grail held up far better than expected and even exceeded my 'hoped for.' The sci-fi aspects mixed surprisingly well with the action adventure in ways unexpected and I found myself rooting for John & Nia more than for your typical military types. The book of the year? No, and it never would have been for me. But worth a read and a delightful surprise? Absolutely! I look forward to seeing what J.D. Redvale does next!

I was invited to read this book after having read and greatly enjoyed the sci-fi book Artificial Wisdom. So I was expecting a book with a lot of Sci-fi but it was 95% a military style thriller with former seal John Mitcham teaming up with a brilliant hacker Nia Banks to find John’s missing wife and a quantum computer.
Not the type of book I normally read but it was well plotted with several good surprises and very easy to read quickly as there barely any let up in the fast paced action. The very high body count and gun fights is the best indication of the genre this book falls into. But the changing relationship between John and Nia throughout the book felt very realistic with both changing their opinions of the other. I liked the writing style.
I thought that the supposition that a quantum computer was so powerful that everything could be predicted to the smallest detail was just too simplistic and unrealistic but does capture the mood of the moment when there is so much uncertainty and fear of the future role of Artificail Intelligence and it does make for an interesting finish. However the role of the human operators of the quantum computers was rather telegraphed so it was not a surprise when my thoughts were confirmed near the end.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

This is such an incredibly addictive book, found by browsing through Net Gallery, and is in a genre I absolutely love.
I had never heard of the author J.D. Redvale before, but I never let that stop me when investigating new books and authors.
Having read the initial few chapters, it became clear that as a fan of David Baldacci's Mark Dane series, John Mitcham seemed to be cut from the same mould.
The action, twisting and turning and with the blending of high technology with, almost, a hint of a traditional Agetha Christie type mystery, well, its an absolutely amazing read and completely impossible to put down once started!!!

An ex Navy Seal John Mitcham's estranged wife is kidnapped. He joins forces with a hacker to find her. There are conspiracies everywhere. A faced paced thriller that never lets up. He doesn't know who he can trust. Plenty of twists along the way. Loved it. Thanks to Gotham Book works and Netgalley for this review ARC

While I was looking for more of a sci-fi oriented book, this was more of a thriller chase with sci-fi elements at the end. While quantum computing is an interesting premise and the antagonist reveal was a good one, the ending seemed a bit fumbled to me. Perhaps others will connect better with it. Again, if you're looking for a thriller with a seasoning of sci-fi, this may well be a good selection for you.

When I finished this book, I said aloud “That was very, very clever.”

This gripping debut thriller masterfully blends elements of espionage, technology, and personal redemption. The story follows former Navy SEAL John Mitcham, on a desperate quest to find his missing wife. His journey leads him into a web of governmental conspiracies and technological warfare, centred on a stolen CIA supercomputer known as the Quantum Grail.

The uneasy alliance of two main characters John Mitcham and notorious hacker Nia Banks works really well. The explanations of the science and technology is expertly done. The chapters are short and keep the book moving quickly. This book is so cleverly written. I couldn’t put it down.

The Quantum Grail is a compelling read that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. I will be reading more from J.D. Redvale.

Action. Kidnapping. Hyper advanced computer falling into the wrong hands? What more do you need to keep the pages turning! If you like super computers and military extraction missions, this one's for you.

A fun fast paced read from the author. This story takes a lot of twists and turns. It follows John Mitcham in his search for his estranged wife, partnering him hacker Nia Banks. The two search for John's estranged wife and a "super" quantum computer called the Quantum Grail. The story has unexpected twists and turns and ultimately betrayals.

This is a very fast fun read. You will not want to put down. I look forward to more books by the author.

John, a former Navy Seal joins forces with Nia, an exceptional hacker, to unravel what is behind the kidnapping of his wife and a group of soldiers linked to a supercomputer called the Quantum Grail.
The book is a fantastic action thriller with a sci-fi twist. I loved the mix of suspense combined with action and technology.
It has a good story line with interesting and well worked out characters. The relationship between John and Nia evolves and changes during the course of the story. We also meet some characters of dubious morality that will keep us wondering what is behind all the kidnappings.
It almost reads in one sitting delivering twist after twist and a heart-stopping ending.
A fantastic debut novel totally recommended and a writer to keep an eye out for.

This is an outstanding, complicated, (hopefully) super-futuristic techno-novel.
Completely engaging from the start, I was focused on what I thought was happening,
to learn that what you see is not at all what is actually taking place. There was a
lot of fascination with the personal relationships of the main characters and the
Author did a masterful job with the evolution of each character, and the
obfuscated roles the people and situations played in the story.
I found myself heavily aligned with a character whom I learned was not
quite what I thought…making this a perfect novel! To wrap it all up, this
book is perfect for suspense with a touch of flubbed players, with a
nice wrap-up as it concludes.
My thanks to Gotham Bookworks via NetGalley, for the download of
this book for review purposes.

This is pretty standard run of the mill kidnap and intrigue until you realise there are far more layers in this clever and compelling story. John Mitcham, ex special ops, realises something has happened to his wife through a hidden message in a note she apparently leaves before vanishing. that and the repeated sightings of the same van, the edginess of her colleagues and security footage lead him to believe she has been taken. By who and for what is the question and getting to those answers leads John to reconnect with old contacts and some surprising new ones. John is constantly haunted by his past and fearful of the future outcome. With this in mind he delves deeper into an unknown world using unfamiliar sources to get the answers he needs to save his wife. A fast paced and enjoyable read.

This is a fast paced, action filled thriller that took me on a wild ride all over the US. The story centers around an ex military leader, John, trying t0 find his kidnapped wife after he "recruits" the help of a notorious hacker. The plot is one big giant cat and mouse game with lots of players, motives, and unknown enemies. Absolutely loved the story and highly recommend.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
