Sweet romantic comedy with enemies-to-lovers and found family?? Yes, please.
I read a statistic somewhere that nowadays couples mostly meet on the internet or through dating apps. The modern love story. I couldn't miss it.
Danni is the perfect FMC - smart, talented, headstrong and with a sense of humor. Can we talk about enemies-to-lovers if there is no less charming MMC standing in opposition? No. Chance did not disappoint me in my expectations. The banter is sooooo funny. The story was such a page-turner. ❤️❤️❤️
The book was fun, light and a really good time. We need more nerd romance books. I'm just saying.
This read was so utterly funny and romantic—hands down one of the best romcoms I’ve ever read!
Danni is such a lovable FMC that I relate to so much, on many levels. I adore her!
As for our MMC, Chance, I found him to be a bit of a man child and not to mention too much of a smart aleck, which gave me the biggest ick. But that’s not to say I didn’t like him! He’s really charming in the grand scheme of things.
The side characters were lovely too, with so much personality that made me fall in love with this novel.
The banter between Chance and Danni was done so perfectly, it gave the story an addicting feel that was page-turning!
Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for the copy!
Tropes/micro tropes:
Mental health rep
Banter
Enemies to lovers
They’re neighbors
Office romance
Dual POV
He falls first
Workplace romance
One bed trope
Bad first date
No third act breakup
It was a delightful rom-com. Had me giggling.
Danni and Chance, their first date is a disaster.
Some misunderstandings make matters worse. Danni hates him and he dislikes her.
They keep meeting. First as neighbors, then as co-workers and then they are assigned to the same project. Too many coincidences or is it fate.
They both have different opinions about each other in their heads. And act annoying and hostile towards each other in the beginning until they get to know each other. But they are still reluctant to change their opinions of each other due to previous prejudices.
It's nice to be in chance's head. He is the greenest green Flag and he believes in soul mates🥰. We love a who can accept his mistakes
And is willing to rectify it.
She has a manuscript for a book she is writing but she doesn't want to continue. Here is how he convices her:
Danni: I read better than I write
Chnace: I walk better than I run, but if I practiced, I could run a marathon
The Indian background of Chance is done well. Indian families are like that I can attest to that.
There is one bed trope is done really well and he can sing. He sings her to sleep. Shoutout to Morgan and Drew who brought this about. Danni is really stubborn but she comes around in the end.
A special thanks to Netgalley, the publishes and author for allowing me to read and review this book.
While the book does start rough in the beginning with seemingly unlikeable characters, the story slowly takes a turn in changing misunderstandings into a hilarious situations. Danni and Chance have their horrible start, but fate keeps throwing them together. I enjoyed watching them turn their VERY obvious hate into a wonderful office romance. The big bonus in my opinion was side character Drew's development from robot to just weird human. Definitely worth the read!

Danni’s joins an AI dating app and matches with a cute stranger - Chance. After a disastrous first date, they are both thankful it’s over and in the past. Little do they know, Chance has been hired at Danni’s job and they will now be forced to work together on a major project. Danni doesn’t know if she can survive Chance’s arrogant mansplaining attitude and Chance doesn’t know if he can handle Danni’s cranky attitude. Can they find a way to work together without killing each other?
They may have written each other off.. but the universe keeps throwing them back together. Danni doesn’t believe in soulmates, it’s just a coincidence… not fate…Right?
If you are looking for a cute read with sweet moments and funny banter - look no further!
This is the 3rd book in a series but can be read as a stand alone. I plan to go back and check out the first two books!
Let's start with a warning - as you probably know by now that I prefer my romance books to be spicy - this is a sweet CLEAN romance. My mind is not dirty all the bloody time, sometimes I prefer a sweet rom-com to detox. I have no problem with clean romances - especially if they give me butterflies, but I prefer to know if a romance has spice or not.
This is a sweet romance that made me giggle constantly! And it surprised me, A LOT.
The characters are perfect! And by that I mean they are so real and flawed and human and you root for them - the main ones and the secondary ones. I like it when they don't fit the usual romance mold - when the guy believes in soul mates and he is looking for his like our main guy Chance is doing, and when the girl is a bit stubborn and hot-headed and takes some time to admit that she is wrong. I had a blast with Chance and Danni.
I also really enjoyed the secondary characters and their stories happening in the background - I loved Drew! I instantly fell for Chance's family when we only met them on the call, heck, I need a second book just to spend time with Chance's family and their dynamic.
All the moments that usually happen in romance books and you think "aha, this will come back to bite you in the end" well... the author surprised me and did not treat them that way! Instead the big conflict (also known as the act three breakup) is strong and helps both of our characters grow. Other than that, it features the usual misunderstanding that happen in real life too.
Plus the way they start is... quite epic and you cannot see a future for our main characters. Loved that! I guess I loved it when books prove me wrong!
There is a lot of coding tech talk and I know that's not everyone's cup of tea but I usually enjoy it - usually the talks are about physics and astronomy and I get those, but my husband is a programmer and I turned to him whenever I wanted to check things from the book.
As for the things I did not enjoy:
- the cover is not my jam at all; I have no issue with illustrated covers but this kind of illustration is not for me, I am glad I received this book for review otherwise I WOULD'VE MISSED ON SUCH A FUN ROMANCE!
- the sudden leave of a character - which I assume has maybe something to do with other books in the series, I don't know, he was not that important for that little bit of confusion to affect my rating.
Debugging Love by Erin Lucy is the third book in the Matched By Cupid series and what a hilarious and sweet rom com! I really enjoyed reading about the nerdy characters, each with their own idionsyncrasies. Such a sweet read and a clean romance with no explicit scenes. Thank you, Netgalley for giving me the ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
Alright, let's kick off with a 5-star review: this book had me laughing out loud! The protagonist is absolutely hilarious and full of charm. It’s a love story that starts off on the wrong foot, but hey, three coincidences? That's not just luck, that's destiny.
What was supposed to be a simple date—a free credit gifted by the soulmate app—turned into something much more. Too bad Thor (I mean Chance) isn't blonde, doesn’t have blue eyes, and is, frankly, incredibly arrogant. Meanwhile, to Chance, Danni didn’t even score high enough to deserve a callback—what a disaster...
In theory, their story should have ended there, but then they became neighbors, coworkers, and even ended up sharing a desk.
So yeah, it kicks off with a bang, and the banter between these two is so good you almost don’t want them to ever make up. I also loved the cultural mix with Chance’s family, and let’s be real, after that rocky start, he’s a softie at heart.
Quick disclaimer: I'm a software engineer, so all this corporate tech talk is second nature to me. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I found it spot-on.
I gave this a 3.5 stars. It wasn’t quite 4 stars but it definitely doesn’t deserve a 3 in my opinion.
Danny and “Chance” go from strangers to immediate enemies to “wow I guess I’ll tolerate you since the universe keeps smashing us together” to lovers.s I was extremely irritated at Chance’s character at first because, one, the freaking gum chewing and trash habits and two, his self-righteous approach to finding his soul mate based off an algorithm. Then I see that that was the whole goal lol.
I laughed out loud in many scenes and once Drew’s character finally made itself shine, I was sucked in and giggling pretty much the rest of the way.
Such a sweet, clean romance that anyone would enjoy. I highly recommend.
This book was so cute! I really loved the banter and the romance was so sweet. The story was very easy to get into.
4.5 stars of a lovely read
I like the idea of the AI matching bot, especially because it just ads a touch of modern talk to the whole story, but nothing more, it's just the spark that starts the fire and it's not mentioned much. The whole book is a lovely clean romance, surprisingly full of heated tension and many lovely coincidences as the hero and the heroine keep bumping into each other.
I loved the mix of cultures and the Indian sprinkles added into the mix, and how each character evolved, all beautifully written and heart warming without too much drama. Overall it was a lovely read, quite funny at times, a great feel good read that I am grateful to have received it in order to share my view on it.
