My hope for this book was that it would give life to the constitution. It was a textbook just like the title of 101 implies. That is ok. I have read many. I was hoping this was more in the vein of what the constitution means to me. That was my misinterpretation and not the authors. Very knowledgeable on the subject matter. Well broken down subject matter with concise history.

This was a very informative book. It was educational and included the right amount of history to help the reader understand why the constitution was necessary and how it came to be. I appreciate the emphasis on different ways to interpret the constitution. This is not just a book describing the constitution, it is a much deeper interpretation of the importance of the constitution and how it came to be how it is today. The inclusion of court cases impacting the constitution helps to show the evolution of the document and how changes in society shaped it. I found this not only a great read, but one I think every American should read. I recommend anybody and everyone to read this book.
