*Twisted Knight* by K. Bromberg is an absolute must-listen! Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly were the perfect choices for Holden and Rowan. Their chemistry was undeniable, and they brought these complex, gritty characters to life in a way that made every scene feel incredibly real. Zeller's portrayal of Holden was powerful and raw, while Connolly captured Rowan's strength and vulnerability with such grace.
The story itself had me hooked from the first chapter, with a mix of suspense, passion, and deep emotions. The cliffhanger at the end? Completely unexpected and left me desperate for more! I’m already counting down the days until the next book is released. Bromberg has delivered another unforgettable romance that you won't want to miss. Highly recommended!
This was definitely a fun read with a lot of tension between Holden and Rowan. There’s familial betrayal, a sense of duty to prove oneself worthy of inheritance, and an almost forbidden romance between rivals. Highly anticipating a sequel after that ending!
Twisted Knight by K. Bromberg is the first book I've read by the author so I went into this one not knowing what to expect. From the cover and title, I expected some romantasy or something dark but it was actually just a contemporary romance. So definitely don't judge this book by the cover or title. I liked how much of a plot outside of the romance this one had. It felt like a fuller, more realistic story. The plot did feel slow when it was filled with talk about business but it was still engaging and entertaining. I'm not sure if I really liked the characters much but I did love the passion and spice the relationship had. The audiobook was really enjoyable. Patrick Zeller was very theatric and emotional in his role. And I loved the way Victoria Connolly portrayed Rowan's emotions. I recommend this one for fans of billionaire romance, family drama, and workplace romance.

Book Review: Twisted Knight by K. Bromberg
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 | 🔥🔥🔥/5 Spice
Twisted Knight by K. Bromberg blew me away as the first book in her Tangled Hearts series. This enemies-to-lovers, billionaire romance had everything I love in a steamy, tension-filled story. Holden Knight, the mysterious and driven MMC, steps in as the CEO of Rowan’s family business with one goal—revenge. But Rowan Rothschild, our smart and ambitious FMC, isn't about to let him walk all over her, especially since her family doesn't appreciate her value.
Their chemistry sparks right from the beginning, and the banter between them was chef’s kiss. Despite their clashing goals, Holden and Rowan can’t resist each other, and their romance is a fiery mix of passion and power struggles. I loved how Rowan wasn’t a pushover—she’s strong, capable, and holds her own in and out of the boardroom, especially during the steamy scenes.
The audiobook narration added so much depth to the characters and the tension, and I highly recommend it for a fully immersive experience. And the cliffhanger? Let’s just say I’m eagerly awaiting book two! K. Bromberg has officially become an auto-buy author for me.

Twisted Knight is an enemies to lovers, office romance that was simply delicious! I loved Rowan! She was smart and driven. She knew her brother was a moron and the fact that she didn't just slap her mother is a true testament to her good character. Her mom was so annoying. I did kind of wish Rowan wouldn't always take the high road and let the family walk all over her though. This is certainly an "enemies to lovers" vibe since Holden wants revenge on Rowan's family, but he figures out quickly she is not like them. But, I loved his story-his reason for wanting revenge was righteous for sure and you just had to love him! The push/pull between Rowan and Holden kept me engaged despite hating her family so much I didn't think I could take any more.
I also listened to this and the audio is GREAT! Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connelly were new to me, but I enjoyed both of their performances.

I love that this is told in dual timelines and we slowly get the background information, it really added to the suspense. I love Holden, behind his tough exterior is a soft heart. I can understand why he is the way his is with everything he’s been through. I really adore Rowan, she fights for what she wants, even if she’s fighting alone. I need the next one, that cliffhanger 🤯

There is just something I love about a good revenge plot, and the one in this book is a new favorite of mine. This story was so captivating and fast-paced. Rowan and Holden are both such complex characters, and I really enjoyed getting to know them. Through flashbacks we learn how Holden came to know Rowan’s family years prior, and why he is set on destroying them (he has good reasons). This one will make you laugh, cry, and want to find your own Holden.
If K. Bromberg writes it, I’m going to read it. I absolutely love her style, and the worlds and dynamics that she creates. I was NOT expecting that cliffhanger though! Book two can’t come soon enough!! I need to know what happens between Rowan, Holden, and this family business 🫣
I listened to the audiobook and the narration by Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly was perfect! They really brought the emotion out for the characters and made it all that much better.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for this ALC!
Always an absolute fave author of mine writing just another phenomenal story that I just couldn't put down! I just ate this one up and instantly wanted to re-read the second I was finished. Everything I need and want from start to finish.
4.5 stars! This is an engrossing mafia/billionaire romance with undercurrents of vengeance, lot of juicy tension, and a jaw dropping cliffhanger ending.
From the get go, before they even actually know who they are to each other, Holden and Rowen have an electric chemistry between them. Rowen is the daughter in a wealthy family, considered less than because of her gender, second to her brother - who truly is less than, but is handed everything on a golden platter. She has worked hard for her role in the family business, and dreams of somehow overcoming the patriarchal structure and being able to run the business herself - something her brother currently does, and does badly. Enter Holden Knight, poised to essentially take over her beloved family business via a less than ideal acquisition her brother has worked out, Rowan is enraged and vows to do whatever she can to stop the deal from happening. Unfortunately, the more time she spends with the charming, gorgeous, and mysterious Holden, the more she likes him, and the more she finds herself wanting other things from him.
The players in this story are absolutely fascinating. I still couldn’t tell you completely who I would trust or who is completely shady (though it seems the latter is a bit easier, it’s still a bit cloudy). The political machinations of the wealthy families, and the secrets and secondary motivations are everywhere. Pressure from parents to marry their children and create alliances, and just a suffocating patriarchal overlay to everything. And then you have Holden, who is clearly out for vengeance, but then gets completely distracted by Rowan and his unexpected reaction to her, and ultimately his growing feelings and attraction to her. This is one of those stories where the dual POV is fantastic, as I loved his inner dialogue when it comes to her, not to mention hers regarding him. Their back and forth is so interesting. And when they give in to their attraction…..wooo boy! Fireworks. I would say this is a medium burn, with a decent amount of spice around a three out of five), as it starts with a little h@te sëx and evolves into something much more intense and intimate for both of them. The culmination and cliffhanger of this book, the first in a series, was a bit shocking, and makes me think there is definitely something we’re missing - I can’t wait to see what comes next.
I listened to the audiobook for this book, and I believe this is the first time I’ve heard either of these narrators. They both do a fantastic job, but I especially feel the need to call out Patrick Zeller, as I was completely blown away by the level of emotion he brought to his performance. I have listened to a LOT of audiobooks, with some top notch narrators, and I would easily put him in that list of top narrators. Especially when it comes to the spicy scenes, he had this delivery that just had me absolutely in a puddle on the floor, blown away by the intensity and emotion he delivered, how absolutely genuine it all felt. I 100% recommend this audiobook if you’re someone who enjoyed reading in that format.
3.75⭐ This was an entertaining listen! I think this is a right book wrong time situation - but I couldn't connect with the characters. It does end on a cliffhanger thought & I will be reading book 2. Posted on GR and storygraph
Thank you Macmillan Audio for the ALC!
This was my first book by Bromberg but I’ve heard great things about her other books so I was looking forward to this one. There was a lot of potential and the premise of the story grabbed my attention. Unfortunately that’s all the worked for me. The characters weren’t very likable and I didn’t love the narration either. I’m bummed this was a miss for me.
Loved the narrators!
Great start to new series. I was sucked in from the first chapter. I was so not prepared for that ending! I need the next book asap!
Loved Rowan and Holden’s characters. Rowan is trying to take her role at the company the way she fits, not the way her parents want her to. They want her to dress and act a certain way. Holden is looking for revenge and will do what he needs to do to get it. These two have great banter and the romance and chemistry between them is amazing. They are so good together.
Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long for the next book.
Happy Release to Twisted Knight!
I've loved all of the racing romances K has written, so when I saw she was writing a non-sportsy book I was excited to see what it would be like! An enemies to lovers workplace revenge romance?! GIMME!
The backstory for Holden had me gripped (and very sad at times) and was so interesting to see how it tied into the current story. I loved learning why he was seeking revenge (and on who) and it was a wild ride! I wanted so much strength for Rowan and hate how horribly her family (other than her nan) treat her - yes I want to face kick her brother. How kind of a person she is is really highlighted by all the trash ways she is treated.
The cliffy for this book has me super curious about how this trilogy will continue! I'm sure were gonna get sooo much more conflict and dram in book two, whereas this book was a lot of information and set up

I wasn't the biggest fan of the audiobook narrators at times, and probably would have liked this book more if I eyeball read it. Holden's narrator (Patrick Zeller), was nice, but once he started adding emotion and other character voices to the narration I got a bit turned off. I enjoyed Rowan's narrator (Victoria Connolly)
Final Rating: 3.75 ⭐, 3🌶️
Thank you Valentine PR, NetGalley and K. Bromberg for granting me an ALC & eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!
What a fun and intriguing new world from K. Bromberg. It’s got revenge and bit of mystery, so much tension, an epic enemies to lovers chemistry, and plenty of spice!
The deliciously mercurial Holden Knight has returned with revenge in mind. This former outsider is now rich and powerful, and his nefarious plan includes buying a struggling business of his rivals to help take down the family that wronged him. What he doesn't foresee is Rowan Rothschild- member of said family he wants to take down. But Rowan is not quite what he expects- and she herself is a bit of an outsider in her own family. But she wants her family business- and is not ready to let it be destroyed by the machinations of men, first her brother’s idiocy and now Holden. Upon first meeting, the chemistry is instant- until Rowan finds out just who Holden is…and what he wants to do. And she’s going to make it VERY difficult for him.
Both of our characters Holden and Rowan are strong and stubborn and resourceful and they go head to head in the most delicious way. I love some good powerplays, and lordy do these two love to get under each other’s skin. The tension between them is a beautiful crescendo- and being forced together so often means there are lots of sparks flying. Holden is a classic hate-to-love-him alpha hole- he’s arrogant and deceptive, but also super sexy, even if he’s blinded by his revenge haze. He’s super intriguing, and as we slowly unpack his past and present, he’s increasingly likable and relatable. Rowan seems like an elite princess- and she’s certainly had a lot of privilege. But she’s unsatisfied with her life- and unsatisfied by the patriarchal trappings that are holding her back. I love how smart and sharp she is- she can play the power games as well as the men, and I’m loving her finding more and more power.
The chemistry in this one is tense and spicy, and I’m fascinated about where this story is going to go after our finale. This book did feel a bit long in places, but the pages kept turning and the story was super engaging. I didn’t even know it was going to be the first of a series- so take note!
The audio book of this was so good- and I loved how immersively they pulled us into the story. Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly narrate, and I’ve not listened to a ton of audiobooks by them but am excited to see them in more! Patrick wasn't quite how I imagined Holden (perhaps not quiet as edgey as I expected), but the more I listened, the more I appreciated the performance.
Just beware- this one ends in a cliffhanger, and now I’m desperate for more!

I honestly wasn’t prepared for how much I would enjoy this book. Honestly might be my favorite K Bromberg book to date. The banter between Rowan and Holden was so good. I loved the secret relationship aspect, the sneaking around (I am such a sucker for anything forbidden).
I listen to this audiobook thanks to Macmillan Audio and I thought the narrators (Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly) did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Both narrators did very well. They kept the pace if the story even. Extra points for emotion bought forth. The pain and hurt from the character of Holden came through to the words spoken by the narrator. The frustration and hurt felt by Rowan was also well done.
This is the first book in the series and does end with a big cliffhanger.
Holden is out for justice and will crush anyone in his way. His plan did not include falling for Rowan. As he got to know her and spent time with her, he realized there was more to her than most people saw. She is very smart, independent and of course beautiful. H
However, he must not lose focus on his plans.
Rowan is not what the family would consider a perfect daughter. She wants to run the family company not marry well and sit back and look pretty. The only family member to really see her was her grandmother. When Holden shows up, she is not ready to trust him. Holden is very charming. He woos her without even realizing what he is doing.
These two fight their feelings throughout the book. That does not stop them from their steamy encounters. The teasing, the banter the sexy times are everything. This was well worth the time. Book 2 can’t come soon enough. The ending left all of us full of angst as secrets were revealed.?
Twisted Knight is the first book in Tangled Heart Series and it won’t be a standalone. What a way to start this series. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Kristy!!!! What did I just read and listen to. If you have read her before, y’all better buckle up. Twisted Knight is not like her recent books. This book is edgy, gritty, complex, full of intricacies, mysterious, with a slightly morally gray alpha. The plot twist that are thrown at you aren’t expected at all. I was definitely on a roller coaster ride with Holden and Rowan. The banter, verbal sparring, push, pull, tension, angst, sexual chemistry is just oozing off the pages. The innuendos, games, the way they got under each other’s skin, they are falling for each other but fighting it for different reasons. While these two had a past that connected them, only Holden knew that secret. He was back in the town that shunned him, and he was back for revenge. This aloof, broody, enigmatic, and intriguing soul was back to the place that brought him so much pain. My heart really broke for the young Holden. Chapter 31 OMG. 😭😭The story had flash backs from his past.
The air of aristocracy, entitlement from this town ran deep. Where only the men had a voice. Secrets, lies, deceptions, hidden truths, back handed deals, blackmail, greed, money and power ruled over everything and everyone.
Little did he know that one of the people and pawn on that list Rowan Rothschild was not who he thought she was. His previous misconceptions leave him in a bind when he has an instant attraction to this beautiful, sassy, and smart woman. She was his match. She read him so well, didn’t put up with his nonsense and called things like they were. A true enemies to lovers in the workplace vibe. She’s trying to save her legacy, family name, while her family is trying to bury it all. All while Holden is trying to bury the people who hurt him. And, just when you think these two have figured it out, BAM we get an emotional doozie of an ending with a cliff hanger. Wowzers, so good. I can’t wait to read and listen to the next book in the series.
The book was narrated by Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connelly and all I can say is wow. They brought it. The characterization changes and emotions emanating from them was just sheer perfection. Especially from Patrick, man chapter 31 gutted me and I cried. I never cry. Highly recommend a listen.
Holy cliffhanger! I was unprepared and this book had me so hooked! I can't wait to read what happens next....
Twisted Knight is a story of revenge. Holden is determined to take down Rowan's family and this makes them the fabulous enemies (turned lovers) we all love. Rowan, however, does not align with her bothers antics and puts her and Holden in interesting positions. Everyone wants power and I'm interested to see how the game plays out! We do get pieces of back story so we know why everything is taking place and again I just can't wait for more!
I was provided an audio copy for review and narrators Victoria Connelly & Patrick Zeller did an excellent job as Holden & Rowan. Their voices held me captive throughout the story!

Ohmyfreakinglanta. I have been BAMBOOZLED! Tell me why I had no idea this book wasn’t a standalone until the last 10 mins of the audiobook. 😂😭
I loved this story start to finish. Rowan is tired of being the face of her family’s business. She wants to have a more hands on position but her family would rather her marry well and leave the business to her brother. The company is hemorrhaging money and no one can pinpoint why. When Rowan meets a handsome stranger she feels a connection with him, unfortunately the next time they meet he throws her world upside down.

Holden has one goal. Revenge. He has been planning this for years and he’s so close to finally making those who destroyed his family pay. Everything was accounted for. Everything accept his attraction to Rowan. She’s nothing like he remembers her being and now he has to figure out what to do about her.
There are flashback chapters told from Holden’s POV and they help you to understand how he became the ruthless man he is now. My heart shattered for him, and I couldn’t hold back the tears.
I loved Rowan and Holden’s relationship. He sees her value and helps to get her out of her brother’s/family’s control. I loved their banter and the spice was great!

“It’s time to change the dress Holden.” 😭 What an ending!! Ms. Bromberg weaved a story full of heartbreak, revenge and betrayal. I liked that while we get plenty of interactions between Rowan and Holden, they both have their own stories being told as well. I cannot wait for the next book. I am dying to see how this will play out. I listened to the audiobook and let me tell you…..I have never heard a male narrator enjoy certain scenes as much as Patrick Zeller.
