Happy to have received this ALC from Netgalley for my honest opinion.
I’ve always enjoyed this author’s books so I had a feeling this would be no different. I did not know this was a cliffhanger but it is so good I didn’t even care. I will anxiously await the next one.
The narration is excellent and added such a level to the emotions in the characters that you can’t always get by reading and helps to really connect with both of them. Young Holden really got to me. In fact, even the way older Holden expresses his feelings is done so well by this narrator I felt him.
I love a good enemies to lovers romance and this story is really good and sucks you right in. I love Holden and Rowan, can’t wait for book two.

Thank you macmillan audio for the #gifted ALC to read and review

Well… I was unaware that this was not a standalone and my jaw just hit the floor when the credits started 😆☠️ so… I’m going to need the next book immediately 😅

Expect 👉🏼 Billionaire, Enemies to Lovers, Office Romance, Alpha, Revenge

Rowan is desperately trying to prove to her misogynistic family that she deserves a seat at the table. Her brother is a man and gets handed everything, while Rowan has had to work her way up from the bottom. Under her lazy brother’s leadership, the company is in trouble. In walks Holden Knight to save the day.

Through the secret meetings and underhanded deals, Rowan finds that Holden is a better ally than her family. The chemistry is strong and the sparks fly with these two. But Holden is still keeping secrets.

I love a good revenge story! The plotting and scheming and payback? I’m here for it 😆😅🫣 but I also wasn’t kidding. I NEED the second book. I was not ready for that cliffhanger 😅

Okay, so for some reason I had in my head that this was a fantasy book so imagine my surprise when, in fact, this is a contemporary romance with hella rich people, a sexy jaded male lead and a misunderstood and fierce female lead.

All things I love, I just spent the first hundred pages waiting for one of them to turn into some kind of mythical creature.. Spoiler, they don't. I’m just an idiot. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Okay so its a contemporary romance and when I realized no one was a shifter or faerie, i quickly fell in love with this book. The characters are dynamic as hell, with backstories that will make you weep and motivation that has made them into stone.

Rowan comes from a wealthy family where it is assumed her role is to be barefoot in the kitchen cooking a bunch of buns in the oven. Holden is the selfmade bajillionaire that basically buys out her family company. He has secrets and motivations that, if ever came to light, would destroy so much of what he has built. Rowan just wants a seat at the table, she wants the company and the job and a worth beyond being a homemaker.

Its messy and complicated and the end left me shook. Idk when the next book comes out but i’m going to need it now, please and thank you!

I absolutely could not put this down. Twisted Knight is a story that just grabbed me from word one and did not let me think about anything else even days after I finished reading it. I was consumed by Holden and Rowan's story of small town secrets, power plays, and fiery sexual tension. Holden is a mysterious man who buys his way into Rowan's family business. A business she wants to run, but being a woman she has been overlooked for her entitled brother. Rowan is the only one who sees through the easy purchase, and is trying to figure out Holden's end game. Holden is back to avenge his brother. But the closer he gets to Rowan, the more distracted he becomes. They don't fully trust each other, but their chemistry is a pull their bodies can't fight. As they get closer, they let their guard down for each other. But when secrets are revealed, the ultimate betrayal changes everything! Holden and Rowan are both great characters and I loved their banter, the push/pull between them, and their chemistry is explosive! Rowan is smart, strong, and caring, and is the kind of heroine I want to read about. Holden is a mystery, and I loved the way Bromberg told his story through flashback sequence, helping me to learn, understand, and empathize with him. Their gripping story is breathtaking and so beautifully written, slowly revealing some secrets, but adding more intrigue as well. I am so invested in Holden and Rowan and was completely stunned at the end! I can't wait to find out what happens next!
The narration by Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly was outstanding! They are so perfect as Holden and Rowan, as they not only build the tension of the story, but the fiery attraction between them as well. They conveyed the depth and complexity of all the different emotions so beautifully. I always love Zellers work, but this is my first listen to Connolly and she was awesome. I always love finding new voice actors to listen to. Zeller and Connolly's narration was breathtaking, and I was completely lost in their moving performance!

4 stars for the narration. No rating for the book.

Okay. *Inhales deeply, exhales slowly* Twisted Knight is marked as fantasy on the main shelves on Goodreads. Yes, I know how the shelves work. It’s also published by Tor Bramble—Tor is a SciFi/Fantasy publisher and Bramble is a romance imprint. The cover presents as fantasy. Based on this information, I inferred Twisted Knight would be a romantasy. It is not. No, I haven’t read anything by the author before. I haven’t ever heard of the author. After listening to it, I did look at the main Tor Bramble page, and it says Bramble puts out contemporary (non-fantasy) books as well.

I did not enjoy the book. It’s not my genre, and I don’t like reading explicit content, which the book has a TON of. I’m not going to be a tool and give it a low rating, though. I wouldn’t normally read this genre or content, so it wouldn’t be fair to ding it.

The underlying story for this did pique my interest. The main conflict, a hostile company takeover by a man who has an axe to grind against a wealthy Southern family that wronged him when he was younger. It was pretty intricately plotted, I was able to suspend my disbelief a bit (some of the stuff wasn’t really Southern, such as “crayfish” they’re either crawfish or mudbugs) If the story had been set in a world with magic and swords and stuff and fantastical weirdness, it would have appealed more to me.

I’d say the narration is pretty good. Connolly’s voices were great and Zeller matched Holden’s personality perfectly. The accents were kinda generic, but not too badly done.

Content warning: copious amounts of explicit language and sexual content.

My thanks to Tor Bramble via Macmillan Audio for the ALC, for which I willingly give my own, honest opinion.

At first, I wasn’t sure this book was any different than any other millionaire romance. It’s a plot of revenge and that is very intriguing! It was well written with an intricate plot and well developed characters. I didn’t like Rowan at first. She seemed needy and weak, but her character grew throughout the book. Both Holden and Rowan had solid goals throughout the story. Their relationship was sexy and sometimes serious and sometimes fun. There was definitely a lot of push pull conflict between the two of them. The spicy scenes were hot. Sometimes I felt like the author was telling me about their relationship more than showing me. How about that ending though? Wow! I’m looking forward to the next one! The narrators were amazing really bringing this story to life! Huge thanks to Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for allowing me to listen and review this audiobook.

I really, really, really wish I would have known that Twisted Knight was the first book in a series. I was hoping so badly for resolution by the end of the book and was so sad that I have to wait for book 2!!! K. Bromberg's books are instant reads for me, so now I will try to wait patiently for the next part.

Holden is a ruthless business man who is planning to take over Rowan's family's company. Rowan has been pushed into a corner even though she is the smartest business person, not just the face of the alcohol brand. Holden has a serious vendetta against this family and we start to learn more and more. I truly did not like Rowan's family... but Holden ended up getting to see Rowan for the amazing woman that she is. Of course, it is never that easy. Intrigue, business ventures, and backstabbing, this was super fast-paced and I LOVED how Bromberg was able to make me love Holden, despite initially thinking that he was an incredible jerk.

Narration by Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly was spot on - even when they were reading the character of the opposite sex, it wasn't jarring - flowed very nicely.

I want to start by stating that the reaction I had after listening to this audiobook for *not a short period of time* just to get to the end and *BAM*, was visceral in nature and just sucked all the joy out of me. It wasn't so much that we were getting a cliffhanger, because I knew after just a handful of chapters that if this particular story ended in just one book, the author wouldn't be able to give the saga/revenge plot justice or the romance for that matter, but rather because NOWHERE does it state this book is 1 of a number, nowhere. To me, that's a form of deception, and it happens more often than I care to even dwell on right now. I need to trust that the information set forth in advertising is truthful and complete. This wasn't and it makes me angry.

That being said, let's talk about the "cliffhanger" that set this entire story on fire. Seriously? That's the best you can do? After a reader goes thru 400 pages or 14 hours of listening time, THAT'S what you use as a plot-twist? Well, that notched up my anger to nuclear and REALLY sucked my joy.

I keep mentioning *my joy* because I loveD this story! I loved the premise and the writing. I especially give props for not dragging out finding out the circumstances of Holden's brother, because it gave Holden 's character justification and rationalization. The smalltown *haves/have nots* was represented very well and even Rowan's character was identified perfectly for that scenario. It was ALL pretty perfect, until BAM.

It took me 4 days to be calm enough to write this with a few F-bombs LOL and I'm proud of myself, but to be honest, I'm really not sure I will be trusting my limited free time to this story or this author from this point forward AND I HATE THAT MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE.

Thank you, Macmillian Audio, for allowing me to listen to this ALC in exchange for honest feedback.

Let me start with… oh. my! This audiobook grabbed me from the beginning and the tension with enemies to lovers. The shift in their interactions, the denial from both of them, and when you finally get to acceptance, you hit with massive betrayal from both of them. My only criticism is the ending that leaves you wanting more!

Twisted Knight is the perfect combo of Kings of Sin/Twisted series by Ana Huang and books like The Hating Game by Sally Thorne! It’s got angsty, revenge wanting Holton Knight who is new in the scene (but is he really?👀) who is buying out the family company that Rowan has always wanting to come into control of. There’s workplace romance, spice, enemies to lovers, slow burn, an amount of suspense, dual timeline(ish) and so much more!
This audiobook was crazy and I was so wrapped up in wanting Rowan and Holton’s happy ending but let me tell you, I DIDN’T GET IT! And I kind of loved that?👀😂 A romance + suspense book that ends on a romance cliffhanger was kind of crazy and so unexpected that I loved it!
I’m really looking forward to keeping an eye out to listen to the next book and I’m so thankful I was able to listen to an early copy of this audiobook, thanks to Macmillan Audio!💛

✨ALC Review✨

Y’all. I am so into this revenge plot. Fair warning: It does end on a cliffhanger and you will scream into the void because you NEED the next book.

So, we have Rowan, a VP in her family’s spirits empire, who plans to take over the company someday. But wait. What’s this? Holden Knight swoops in and gets a majority share in the company. She’s furious but also super attracted to the handsome multi-millionaire who is ruining her life.

Holden has his own reasons for obtaining control of her family’s company. All will be revealed eventually.

In the meantime, he’s luring her to his dark side with his good looks, confidence, charisma, and seeing her for who she is not just what she looks like.

This is narrated by one of my favorites, @victoriaconnollynarrator, and a new-to-me, @patrickzelleraf. They did an exceptional job and I’m metaphorically dying to get my ears on the next book.

Thank you to #netgalley and @Macmillan.Audio for the ALC. All thoughts are mine alone.

(4.5) Bromberg is quickly becoming a new fav author of mine. I’ve been devouring her F1 romances and I devoured this one too. Rich workplace hate-to-love vibes all throughout. I loved the dual POV and I loved the workplace setting. Getting to be inside both characters heads was definitely key to this story so I am grateful for that. It’s drama drama drama and I was hooked so dang quickly. I was NOT expecting this to end how it does and now I’m intrigued as heck for book 2 to come out. The writing is well done and the story is quick paced with enough going on in the background to make this longer story work really well while also giving us a good chunk of romance and steam. Bromberg did a fantastic story of creative a multi level romance story full of twists and secrets with room for so much more as the series develops. Big fan!

The ultimate revenge romance.
Absolutely sucked right into this story. There wasn’t a moment I wasn’t wanting to know what was going to happen. Holden is a forceful, fierce, morally gray MMC who has a heartbreaking past. Rowan is a woman determined to be more than the mold they made for her. She needs a little bit of push. A little bit of support. It coming from Holden wasn’t in the cards. Their attraction and relentless quarreling make their relationship so much more absorbing. Book 2: I need you now!
I did the audiobook, and I loved both narrators. They did such an amazing job. Holden’s narrator has an amazing voice. During the emotional points, it was just such a great job.

**Audiobook Review: "Twisted Knight" by K. Bromberg, Narrated by Victoria Connolly and Patrick Zeller**

K. Bromberg's Twisted Knight is a captivating tale that, unfortunately, leaves readers hanging with a cliffhanger ending. While this open-ended conclusion sets the stage for a continuation, it also leaves me eager to dive into the next book to see how the story unfolds.

Bromberg's ability to craft emotionally charged and intensely intimate relationships is evident in this novel. From the raw moments in the office to the passionate encounters, she expertly captures the full spectrum of intimacy. The audio narration enhances the experience, making the story even more immersive and captivating.

Victoria Connolly and Patrick Zeller deliver outstanding performances as narrators. Their portrayal of Rowan and Holden is spot-on, bringing their characters to life and making it easy to connect with their emotional journeys. Connolly's narration effectively conveys Rowan's internal struggles, while Zeller brings out Holden's complexity and depth. The chemistry between the characters, especially during tense moments, is palpable thanks to the narrators' skillful delivery.

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley to listen to and review; all thoughts and opinions are mine.

3.5 ⭐️ Rounded up for GR. This was my first K. Bromberg book and I enjoyed it. I love a good romance with an actual story and this one is very intriguing if not drawn out a bit. It’s on the longer side and felt like it unnecessarily dragged in parts. It follows Holden, a man with mysterious background and new money in town who plans a majority buyout of Rowan’s family business, unbeknownst to her as a part of a revenge plot. Her family is pretty much society royalty in their town and Rowan tries desperately to understand this man as she attempts to hold onto her family’s business. Throw in family drama, tortured pasts, secrets, lies and deception, oh and lots of spice and you’ve got the plot of this book. I am excited that this will be a series and can’t wait to pick up the next book. I am so glad I knew it was a series going into this read otherwise I would be screaming into a void because there is no HEA in this one.

This was an audiobook read for me, Victoria Connolly was great, her interpretation of bad ass Rowan was really well done. My biggest complaint comes from Holden, read by Patrick Zeller. I did not like his chapters, he was so broody and breathy and overall entirely too dramatic for a man to my liking. I think if I had read this instead of listening, I would have liked Holden a lot more. Not looking forward to his future audio performance unless he can tone down the theatrics.

Also, I don’t think the title and cover accurately describes the vibe of this book. It makes it seem more dark romance or fantasy and it is none of those things. So don’t judge this book by the title or cover.

Read this if you like:
* Billionaire Romance
* Workplace romance/ Secret Romance
* Enemies to Lovers
* Revenge story
* Dual POV
* Series books - this is BOOK 1 and yes it ends in a cliff hanger of sorts

Thank you to MacMillan Audio and Netgalley for this advanced listeners copy in exchange for my honest review. This book comes out September 24, 2024. Get this on your TBR now.

This is a great new series by K. Bromberg, the author of the popular Driven Series. I am a fan of Bromberg and her writing style, and was so excited to read this new romance series from her.
This story focuses on the the Rothschild family, and the death of the matriarch of the family spirits drink business. Rowan, who loved her grandmother is dealing with the fact that she is no longer there, and trying to get control of the family business she loves, and stop her brother from destroying it. The Rothschild family name symbolizes wealth and power in their community, and they have used this name to hide a number of bad things.
Rowan is caught off guard when she finds out a stranger she meets briefly is about take over her family spirits business. Bromberg does a great job with the enemies to friends to enemies plot twists. I enjoyed reading how Rowan navigates her job, family, and her lust for Holden Knight..
It is also clear that the Rowan's intelligence and business aptitude has been overlooked by her family and friends because of old views on the role of a professional woman.
Buckle yourself in for the ending! What a great cliffhanger, and I am so looking forward to the sequel of this book.
Thank you Net galley and Macmillan audio for the opportunity to review this arc. I highly recommend.
Highly recommend for fans of K. Bromberg and romance lovers.

It was okay, not great. To me this was very forgettable didn't hold my attention and made me not want to read more from the author but the narrators were great which is why I rated it a 3 star.

I received an ARC from NetGalley & Macmillan Audio. Twisted knight by K. Bromberg is the first in the Tangled Hearts series. This office romance, enemy to lovers has spice and the audiobook will have you experiencing some hot flashes. Let me start by warning readers this is a “to be continued “ story. We do not have a conclusion to this story something I wish I had known before devouring this steamy romance.

The story follows Rowan and Holden as they navigate their attraction to each other while each pursuing opposing goals.

As a daughter of a wealthy family, Rowan is encouraged to give up this foolish dream of working for the family business. She is a delicate woman breed for marriage and children. Instead of the office she should focus her efforts on getting married, joining the gardening committee or shopping. I will give the author credit she wrote the patronizing male chauvinism very well- the condescending attitude and how everyone in her family including her mom dismissed Rowan’s ideas was quite frankly hard to listen to. The urge to punch was strong in those moments. Ignoring everything her family and society was telling her,Rowan started working for her family business now too bad for her, her brother won’t take her seriously and let her help.

And then there is Holden- let me say this the name has at least now been slightly redeemed in my eyes. After catcher in the eye all Holdens were mistrusted. And although this Holden is morally grey and has a secret I found myself rooting for him. Holden grew up on the poor side of town-working as server in those same country clubs that Rowan’s family patronize. Several years ago after suffering a tragedy he left town vowing to come back and have his revenge. The first step in getting that revenge,- buy Rowan’s family business.

The story ends at a mayor cliffhanger fraught with a lot of misunderstandings & secrets still not revealed. I’m really hoping for a HEA for those two.The steamy scenes were really well written and well performed by the Narrators Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connelly.

Overall I’m happy to give this book 4.5 stars.⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️. I’m taking .5 off because I didn’t get my HEA. If you’re looking for me I will be in front of my computer refreshing the authors website looking for any hint of release date for the next instalment.

Holden Knight might just be my new book boyfriend. I listened to this in audio as an ARC and I enjoyed listening to the male and female narrators. They both portrayed their POVs so well. In some parts I felt they did it to well. They made me feel like I was watching a show and I had to stop what I was doing because I was caught off guard.

Just how he tackles tasks and stays above board is enchanting. But when his grip starts to lose focus and get distracted he becomes even more interesting.

Rowan is the strong FMC who is love to have as a bestie. She isn’t perfect and she knows her faults. Her strength lies in knowing what she wants and she fights for it.

The ending had me grasping for more so I’ll definitely be looking out for the sequel. The flow of the audiobook really drew me in and added so much to the story. The book and storyline is amazing.

I would recommend this book in both book and audiobook format
