For someone who has always battled with fears and doubts, especially in the work place, about my own capabilities, reading this book was so helpful and eye-opening. In fact, I wish I would have had it back then when I needed it the most. Very well-written, easy to understand and the author's knowledge on the topic is very appreciated.

I think it was a little too hippie to be used by me, but I'm sure some people will benefit from this book. It talks about the magical life you can live if you learn to stop doubting yourself and trusting your intuition. It includes meditations and practices to incorporate to achieve this. Surely for someone, but not for me.

When a book starts with this - "Your life purpose is to listen to your inner voice—but to listen to the voice of love inside yourself instead of the voice of fear" I feel like I know that I am reading the right book at the right time.

This will be a book that I continue to reach for well after reading it. I typically do not reach for self help books but this one called to me and I am happy that I picked it up. I enjoyed the "self trust-isms" at the end of each chapter and highlighted multiple to go back to and reflect more.

Thank you NetGalley, Tama Kieves and St. Martins Press for this ARC!

This book is a total game-changer! Huge shoutout to Saint Martin's Press for the copy—I’m so grateful. If you’ve ever doubted yourself or ignored that gut feeling, you need to read this. In a world that’s always telling us what to do, learning to trust ourselves can feel impossible. But Tama Kieves breaks it all down in such a relatable and empowering way, helping us unlock our inner genius and step into our full potential. It’s insightful, practical, and honestly, exactly what I needed right now!

Learning to Trust Yourself by Tama Kieves is an empowering and deeply insightful guide that offers a path to overcoming self-doubt and embracing self-reliance. Kieves tackles the barriers that prevent us from trusting ourselves, helping readers navigate their personal blocks and unlock their full potential.

The book is filled with practical advice, exercises, and inspiring stories that remind us how capable we truly are when we learn to trust our inner voice. Kieves emphasizes that self-trust is not an innate gift but a skill we can develop with practice and patience. She gently pushes the reader to challenge limiting beliefs, take risks, and align with their highest selves.

While the book is motivating and packed with wisdom, some readers may find the concepts repetitive in places. However, the encouragement to take bold steps in life and build unshakable self-confidence is valuable and needed in today’s uncertain world.

If you’re someone who struggles with self-doubt or feels stuck in negative thinking patterns, this book will guide you toward positive, actionable change. A fantastic read for anyone ready to break through personal barriers and start trusting themselves on a deeper level.

Kieves takes us on a messy journey, sharing many of her own experiences. She feels personal stories have a much larger impact than lecturing so this is a personal account. She suggests considering this book as a coaching session revealing obstacles to trusting self and then steps to overcome them. Kieves is heavily influenced by A Course in Miracles and relates some of that philosophy here. She also draws from a wide range of faith traditions and practices.

I appreciate the insights Kieves reveals in this book. She identifies obstacles, such as one's inner critic, and provides practices to move beyond the obstacle to listening and then trusting the inner self. The structure of the book is such that each chapter can be read on its own so the topics can be chosen as needed. There is also a good deal of additional resources that can be downloaded upon reaching the book's end.

This is a good book for readers ready to start the ongoing journey of cultivating a trust relationship with your inner self.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

Life-Altering!

I just finished Learning to Trust Yourself, and wow, Tama Kieves, you have outdone yourself, my dear! This book is a testament to the old adage, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." It is the answer to my prayers, a guide that spoke directly to my soul.

Kieves masterfully blends wisdom, personal anecdotes, and transformative exercises to help readers break free from self-doubt and lean into their own inner guidance. She challenges us to stop seeking external validation and instead develop a deep, unwavering belief in ourselves. Through “self-trust-isms”, “kickstarts”, and practical “practices,” this book provides the tools to rewire our thinking, listen to our inner voice, and make confident, authentic choices. One of the most powerful takeaways for me was learning how to embrace uncertainty—not as a sign of failure, but as a doorway to possibility.

Spoiler alert: This isn’t just a book; it’s a **workbook** designed for transformation. If you’re ready to silence self-doubt, trust your instincts, and live the life you were meant for, grab your copy TODAY!

Written in a way that’s relatable and accessible. Easy to follow. And it can be good for readers who are the beginning of their healing journey or are more in depth into their journey. Overall, good read.

As someone who is a constant worrier and overthinker, “Learning to Trust Yourself: Breaking Through the Blocks That Hold You Back” stood out to me as I’m always looking for actionable tips to get back into the world fully. I’ve had terrible post-C19 anxiety, on top of dealing with numerous life changes, and I thought it would be the perfect read to meet me where I was at. I would say this book is empowering, approachable, and friendly, and I look forward to incorporating some of the methods presented in my self-care practices.

The way Kieves speaks about listening to and centering ourselves is refreshing while making you feel like you’re not alone in this. The guiding and empathetic hand in the book leads to trust that the methods included will help build resilience and that my inner voice is sometimes there to help and guide (not only drive me crazy with what-ifs). I would recommend this book no matter where on the mental health spectrum you lie as there is so much useful information, anyone can take away something.

Thank you to #NetGalley for a review copy of #LearningToTrustYourself. All feedback is my unbiased opinion, not paid, and simply for the love of books.

This is a book about how you trust you yourself rather than dout everything.

I did not enjoy this book. There were several style choices that got into the way of me taking away information being shared. There were metaphors that were unclear and not clearly connected to a message. There was also a style of the writing that made it sound like you were being spoken to directly by hypnosis with most sentences starting with "you". The paragraphs and sentences were very choppy and the messages were unclear. I loved the topic of needing to trust yourself and holding back, but the messages weren't clear enough to help teach me much.

Over the years I have learned that the thing that holds me back is trusting myself. The beliefs that I am not enough. The his here helps you cut through that and get to learning to trust yourself. This reminded me it M.J Ryan’s book trusting yourself. With several other ways to build trust and breakthrough barriers

Imposter syndrome is a term that I hear more and more often now in my therapy practice. Many struggle to believe in themselves and desire to trust themselves and their abilities more. When I went looking for resources to share I came across the book by Kieves and I found it to be very helpful in validating ones experiences and giving a practical application in how to learn and put into practice trusting yourself.

Kieves serves with her words to encourage self discovery and leaning into ones own talents, thoughts, and experiences to navigate life's challenges and develop a knowing that you can handle what comes your way.

If you are looking to develop trust and confidence in self, I would highly recommend this book.

I've been dabbling with a lot of self help books recently. This has been one of the toughest seasons of my life and I have had to face a lot of dark feelings and make some difficult decisions for change. Learning to Trust Yourself has really come in handy. LEARNING TO TRUST YOURSELF is abundant with empowering and beautiful guidance for anyone to receive where ever they may be in life to further deepen the trust and the connection to one's self. I loved this book so much and am so grateful to have come across it. The biggest takeaway and perhaps what I loved most about this book is how the author said that with all the different self-care things out there one can do, the best thing we actually can do for ourselves is focusing on how we both see and treat ourselves for the right relationship to yourself changes everything. Had I read a physical copy, I would have highlighted just about every sentence in this book, and because of that I can't wait to get my own copy! The wisdom is so simple, yet so profound. For anyone feeling lost of stuck in life, there are great questions and journal prompts to discover where we may be getting in our way and limiting ourself. A self-help book that makes you feel so good when reading it!!

Many thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
