I really enjoyed this book, but I needed David and Amelia to deal with the issues that they had in healthier ways. I know it's a romance novel and the whole "I dominate you to protect you" aspect is there because it's hot, but if it's borne of anxiety we need to have it checked.
This book was in need of many edits, there were several spelling mistakes and a fair amount of formatting issues. I think the story could use a bit of work and with a few more edits will fit in well with the sector
If there is one thing I can say the book was definitly a interesting ride, sadly again I've read it after the date limit but it was a fun read with a very strong FMC who really doesn't allow bullshit from anyone, the plot and the twists made the book even more interesting and I truly enjoyed
Unfortunately I DNF’d this book.
Grammatically, it was terrible and in desperate need of editing. Formatting made it very difficult to read
Honestly, I was a chapter in and couldn’t read anymore. Dialog was immature and incredibly childish. I won’t be posting a review on Goodreads or Instagram as I did not complete the book
I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
Unfortunately this was a DNR for me. I just couldn’t get past the first few chapters. The characters just weren’t my cup of tea.
I’m always a sucker for a good romance novel. Breaking You Darling is available now and it will not disappoint.
In Breaking You Darling, we are introduced to David and Amelia. David was brought up with constant abuse from his mother and doesn’t believe anyone will love him. Amelia has lost her father, the only person who cares about her. Her mother never cared, even when Amelia tried to have a relationship with her. When they first meet we see David call Amelia his little lamb, which Amelia didn’t enjoy. Amelia is a shy person and has never really tried to make any relationships; romantic or friendships. She has a fear of being rejected so she hides. However, David helps her overcome her fears and creates her needed relationships.
I like this book but it needed something added. I don’t know what it was though.
Thank you, NetGalley for this read.

I got this as an arc on netgally.
I found the premise interesting but I wasn't prepared on how hooked I would get into the story and couple. It was intense in the best way and frustrating at the same time but also in a good way. The way the romance was done had me feeling like it was very toxic at times but the love and passion was there and I loved the couple after finishing the book. The book as dark themes both about their past but also in the relationship but it's on the lighter side compared to other in the genre.
Really enjoyed this book. Amelia and David were very reliable with their struggles with relationships and also with anxiety . There are moments in the book that reflected my personal life.
The con though was that I somehow expected the book to be a dark romance. Don’t get me wrong did have dark themes like child abusive and child neglect but based on the synopsis I expected something a bit different.
Overall I had a good time reading and would recommend, also want to thank netgalley for the arc.
Two broken writers, kind of grumpy and sunshine, with horrid life experiences that won't let go fight their feelings and ultimately win. Good for the weekend or vacation. Conversations are a bit stilted and formal, need better flow, but once you get used to that can bypass it.
This book is an absolutely captivating read that left me spellbound from beginning to end. The author masterfully creates a rich, immersive world where magic and adventure leap off the page, and the depth of detail in the world-building is truly remarkable.
The protagonist, is a beautifully complex character whose journey of self-discovery and courage resonates deeply. Her growth throughout the story is both believable and inspiring, making her a heroine you can’t help but root for. The supporting characters are just as well-crafted, each bringing their own unique charm and depth to the narrative.
The plot is filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had figured out what would happen next, the author skillfully surprised me. The themes of friendship, sacrifice, and the fight between good and evil are woven seamlessly into the narrative, adding layers of meaning that will leave readers pondering long after they turn the last page.
Overall, is a must-read for fantasy lovers. I can’t wait for the next installment!
In Breaking You Darling, the story takes us into a tantalizing dance between control and rebellion. The book introduces us to a charming yet infuriating character who believes he can mold the protagonist to his whims, only to find himself challenged by her fierce spirit and determination. I enjoyed this book for its intense chemistry and the way it explores the push and pull of power dynamics in a fresh, engaging manner. The characters' interactions are electric, making it a great read from start to finish.
Hold on to your seats, because Breaking You Darling is a wild ride! 🚀 This book dives into a sizzling battle of wills where our heroine isn’t about to be anyone’s puppet—especially not his. With a mix of sharp wit and undeniable chemistry, this story grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go. If you love a good romance that’s full of tension and irresistible sparks, this one’s a must-read. Seriously, it’s a rollercoaster you don’t want to miss! 😍🔥📚
I will admit when I first started reading the book I wasn’t sure I liked it, but the more I read the more I was hooked.
The writer does an excellent job of weaving 2 characters with different traumatic pasts into a beautiful love story. I really enjoyed watching as David evolves and becomes a man worthy of her love while Amelia overcomes her setbacks to become a confident loving woman. Bravo!
I barely made it through the first chapter. The dialogue is so horrifically stilted. The characters don't use contractions when they speak. They talk like they're giving formal presentations and that English is their second language. I did attempt chapter two, but when we were introduced to the MMC with the line "Tardiness disgusts me, so do not be stupid and do not waste my time. Got it, babe?" I quit. I have no interest in getting to know him. The FMC seemed just as shallow. Not wasting my time here.
Definitely should have a trigger warning for those who have dealt with abusive parents, relationships and sexual violence. This storyline was missing a lot in my perspective but overall an easy quick read. This also was not as smutty as you would think from the title.
