Faeries Never Lie is a sweeping blend of diverse faerie stories that are entertaining, whimsical, and addictive.
I had so much fun reading this anthology. Each story tackled different aspects of the fae in intriguing and engaging ways, and I adored the stories' varied writing styles and quirkiness. I enjoyed every story in this anthology and love how beautifully the stories blend culture, captivating characters, and fun plots. The book was wonderfully immersive and fast-paced. This read is excellent for short story, mythology, and fantasy fans!

Faeries Never Lie is a delightful and diverse collection of short stories that brings the magic of faeries into vivid life. Each story explores different facets of faerie lore, with a refreshing variety of genders, cultures, and eras. Whether it’s navigating the mysteries of a faerie boarding school or chasing fae creatures through ancient dynasties, the collection is full of whimsy, danger, and romance.
What I loved most about Faeries Never Lie is the sheer creativity and world-building within each story. You’re taken on a new adventure with every story, from tricksters and lovers to monsters that are both terrifying and beautiful. The stories are perfect for readers new to fae mythology and those who have long been enchanted by these magical beings. While some tales resonated more than others—understandable in any anthology—the variety ensures there’s something here for everyone.
Some of my favorite stories came from Chloe Gong, Holly Jackson and Dhonielle Clayton.
If you’re a fan of the Untold Legends series or just love diving into short, imaginative, and atmospheric tales, Faeries Never Lie is a must-read!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
I have really enjoyed all of the books in this series. While not all short stories are created equally, I found myself still fascinated by each take on faeries! Just like with Mermaids and Vampires, this anthology allows for faeries to exist outside of their typically western sphere. My favorite short stories came from Holly Black (of course. she IS the queen of Faerie), Dhonielle Clayton ( can anyone build a more descriptive world?) and Chloe Gong (the tension!), but like I said, each story truly has something to offer to our general knowledge of faerie!
