I will never not love a Rosie Danan book - always reliable, always a fun read.
I'd give it one million stars if I could.

This author is new to me, but I will be keeping an eye out for anything else they publish. I loved the story and the characters. The pacing of the story was great and the characters were relatable.

I was graciously and unexpectedly given a NetGalley copy of "Fan Service" after a preorder signed copy was very delayed in arriving to me so I could read it while I waited for my copy to arrive.
I've read all of Rosie's books, and this one was fun! I loved the popular paranormal TV show aspect which reminded me of so many shows I loved watching when I was younger. Overall it was a fun read and if you like Rosie's book and/or werewolves, definitely check it out!

I read a lot, and I can unequivocally say that this is my favourite book of the year so far. I think Rosie Danan is incapable of writing a bad romance novel, and Fan Service is without a doubt her best yet!! A love letter to fandom, Fan Service immediately draws you in with engaging characters and an absolutely BONKERS (yet somehow perfect??) plot setup. The tension and chemistry between the main characters was fantastic, and I loved how developed they were as individual people too. Did I mention that it's also laugh-out-loud hilarious? I had at least a snorting laugh every few pages, and even though I read it in two sittings, I really felt myself savoring the entire experience.
Heartily, heartily recommend -- I've already convinced several friends to get their own copies!!

I admittedly only requested “Fan Service” because it was written by Rosie Danan. She's an author whose previous books I've really enjoyed. With a major theme being werewolves, it's not what I would normally go for but I enjoyed it overall. It is a mix of fantasy and romance, with this fandom culture aspect too. Main character Alex falls in love with a werewolf themed TV show and it's lead actor Devin Ashwood as a teenager, but by her early 30s she has moved on. When Devin’s career is drying up, he finds himself suddenly turning into a werewolf. So he reaches out to the show’s biggest fan, Alex, for help. There is good tension between Alex and Devin, and they each had interesting flaws. There is a cute small town feel too, which I liked. While overall I enjoyed the story, it did seem to slow down in the middle. Thank you to Berkley Publishing for the e-ARC!

Fun and very flirty. This was a perfect blend or paranormal and celebrity romance. It felt fresh compared to many of the paranormal romances I've read and I loved them figuring out the were abilities.

This book is such a delight! Flawed main characters find their way hilariously, romantically, messily to each other in a satisfying resolution. Definitely recommend, especially if you've ever been a member of any fandom!

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this one, and the beginning was a little slow, but by halfway I was very invested and eager to keep reading.
Alex has been an outcast since she was a kid, preferring the company of friends on an online fan forum to those in real her Florida town. As a teenager, she meets her heartthrob idol, Devin, the star of the aforesaid fan forum’s main obsession: a supernatural TV show called The Arcane Files. But when she overhears him saying cruel things about her, her feelings immediately turn to loathing, which she nurtures even years later.
Now she’s in her 30s in the same town, and Devin needs her help - because he’s found himself turning into a werewolf IRL.
This book has one of my favorite tropes - grumpy/sunshine, and *she’s* the grumpy one. It’s very April Ludgate/Andy Dwyer. Devin is a golden retriever in human form. I absolutely loved their dynamic and ensuing hijinks. It was such a fun, sexy read!

I had so much fun with this book. It is nostalgia for any older millennial who was obsessed with a fandom (for me it was LOTR and Buffy) and never really left it. I kept thinking, what would I do if Orlando Bloom showed up at my door? Or David Boreanez. And they were actually a fae/vampire? I would die that's what I would do!!!!
With this book you have to suspend so much disbelief but in a fun way. And the sex scenes were really top notch. What I love about this is it's obvious that Rosie is having fun with her recent books. She is writing weird and fun paranormal contemporary romance and I am digging it.

Really fun and lighthearted romance, great for anyone with sci-fi/fantasy fandom leanings. Crack taken seriously.

The author’s note says this book is a love letter to fandom, and boy does it feel like one. As someone who grew up being active on fandom tumblr and watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I felt so seen by this book.
Alex used to run the primary The Arcane Files fan forum even after being insulted in person by the star of the show at a con.
Devon is a washed up B list actor fighting for relevance and maybe a reboot.
This book is FUN!! I was giggling and kicking my feet the entire time.

Loved this supernatural romance! I was not sure what to expect: actor famous for portraying a werewolf becomes a *real* werewolf... then seeks out the head of his online fandom for help/support? Would a romantasy be my style? Answer: when written by Rosie Danan, yes! I enjoyed The Roommate and really loved The Intimacy Experiment, so I'm glad I took a chance at this somewhat less standard form of the romance genre. I also have spent more than my fair share of time in fandom communities (nothing involving werewolves... that I know of) so I appreciate the difficulty in separating the ideal of the person from the actuality of that person, and the author did a great job in articulating that dichotomy on the page. The resonant effects of early childhood trauma on both Alex and Devin were also very realistic, which helped ground an otherwise otherworldly story in authenticity. I was not previously familiar with "black cat/golden retriever" as a relationship descriptor, but it aptly fits this story, in more ways than one.
Thanks to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

Very grateful to the publisher @berkleyromance and @acebooks for my #gifted copy through @netgalley , opinions are my own
Fan Service was such a fun and unique romcom with the perfect mix of humor, heart, and a little paranormal twist! I loved the opposites-attract dynamic between Alex and Devin—she’s grumpy and guarded, he’s charming and chaotic in the best way. Their banter had me laughing, and the emotional moments really added depth to their story. The werewolf element was light but fun, and the fandom references made it even more enjoyable. I also appreciated that the main characters were a bit older and dealing with real emotional baggage. Devin’s character growth was one of my favorite parts. This was a sweet, geeky romance with great chemistry and a lot of heart. I’d totally recommend it!

As always, many thanks to NetGalley and Berkely for the opportunity to read and review this newly published book.
Fan Service is an enjoyable read sure to appeal to fans of Supernatural, as well as those curious about dipping their toes into the world of monster-romance. While neither of those descriptors capture my specific reading habits, I really appreciate how neat and tidy the world-building was. The premise of a real life werewolf who has to follow the rules and mechanics set for a fictional werewolf is one of the more ridiculous I've ever encountered, but Danan stuck to the prompt and delivered a fairly watertight narrative. Obviously nobody is going to pick this book up for the plausibility factor, but I have to give her props for not going overboard with the worldbuilding and including a whole bunch of extraneous elements, conditions and species.
If it comes up, I will probably read another book by this author. More importantly, I will keep this book in my back pocket to recommend to library users looking for a fun supernatural romance.

I just couldn't get into this book. I LOVED Rosie's first two, but her recent ones have been big misses for me. I might have to stop trying.
Thanks to the publisher for the advanced copy

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkely Publishing Group for this ARC!
Wow! Just wow! This book was so much to read. As a perpetual fan girl myself this is the dream to have your favorite actor fall in love with you and be a werewolf. It was silly, sexy, funny, and was full of heart. The characters talked about the true nature of what it’s like to be a child star and navigating being an adult. They also discuss the nature of loss and holding yourself back from love. Both Devin and Alex are so cute together and they both grow so much together during this book. This is a book I’m definitely buying for my bookshelf!

Thank you to PRHAudio for the free audiobook and Berkley for the free book.
Full transparency I was nervous reading this because the magical realism could’ve fallen down a million plot holes but bless Rosie Danan for keeping control of the narrative cause I ended up really enjoying this. It’s an amalgamation/love letter to fandoms from both sides of the curtain, to me most reminiscent of Supernatural and Vampire Diaries.
For the premise I would read the back of the book/what's marketed because it really says it best. This is overall a fun adventure as the main characters try to figure out the parameters of the MMC suddenly shifting into a werewolf. In my opinion this actually pulls off an “unlikeable MMC” which I know won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but from his POV it felt true to his character of being a bit of a has been actor and honestly he could’ve been way worse lol so I loved his growth arc. I also love the subversion on the alpha trope, his inner wolf actually has to learn how to submit to her 😌 to be clear this is a paranormal NOT monster romance, there is no knotting but I’ll forgive it this time because the rest was compelling enough and I was sold by the initially unlikely romance.
As for the narration- really enjoyed especially the MMC POV done by Aaron Shedlock, he did such a good job. I loved this pair together. I did think though if a book is in 3rd POV anyway why not just have Aaron tell the whole thing to me like a bedtime story.. you wouldn’t hear me complaining. But the dual narration did balance well.

What a fun read!! I thoroughly enjoyed my time throughout the entirety of this book. I’m obsessed with how Rosie Danan created the rules of being a werewolf and the trials.
Also, let’s talk about his obsession with her scent—HOT!
Devin was such a himbo, and I loved every second of it. Alex was such a fun character, and I loved learning about her fandom days—being there, girl (one direction).
This book is the perfect black cat / golden retriever (who’s sometimes an ass). I loved how the two characters got to know and respected each other for who they were, not who they thought they would be.
Also, the primal play—okay, ma’am, I didn’t know I was into that, but YES!
I just had such a good time with this book.

I received this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. ARC provided by Berkley Publishing Group.
The only place small-town outcast Alex Lawson fits in is the online fan forum she built for Arcane, a long-running werewolf detective show. Her dedication to archiving fictional supernatural lore made her Internet-famous, even if she harbors a secret disdain for the show's star, Devin Ashwood. (Never meet your heroes - sometimes they turn out to be The Worst.)
Ever since his show went off the air, Devin and his career have spiraled, but waking up naked in the woods outside his LA home with no memory of the night before is a new low. It must have been a coincidence that the once-in-a-century Wolf Blood Moon crested last night. The claws, fangs, and howling are a little more difficult to explain away. Desperate for answers, Devin finds Alex - the closest thing to an expert that exists. If only he could convince her to stop hating his guts long enough to help.
Once he makes her an offer she can not refuse, these reluctant allies lower their guards trying to wrangle his inner beast. Unfortunately, getting up close and personal quickly comes back to bite them.
This was one of my most anticipated March reads, but it was disappointing. The premise of this sounded like so much fun and the werewolf part of it was very fun and cheesy, but the romance felt flat. Devin and Alex lacked chemistry which ultimately had me not really caring if they got together or not. But you can definitely only see that Devin really liked Alex in her werewolf form. Devin is also suppose to be forty two years old, but his maturity levels was questionable. I kept having to remind myself of his age. He did some pretty nasty things to Alex and I would of not let that slide. There is some character growth for both Devin and Alex, but it was not fleshed out enough. So much of the conflicts in this book could of been resolved if they just communicated. I was a fan of Teen Wolf when I was younger, and I really liked the fandom aspect of this. This was definitely a love letter to fandoms. If you are a fan of all thing werewolf or paranormal romance, this one is for you.

This one was fun! This was my first Rosie Danan book and I heard really good things about it from one of my friends! I enjoyed it in the first half but it did kind of lose me in the second half! I still think it was overall a really good plot and story!
