My 9 year old loved this book. She thought it was funny and laughed some deep belly laughs while reading.
Annabelle and the Spaghetti-Confetti Surprise by Jenna Beatrice, Annabel Tempest (Illustrator). I loved this book I cannot wait to show this book to my 4 year old and 9 year old granddaughters. They will love the pictures and the mistakes made with the words.
This is a really cute story about learning to how to adjust plans when things don't go according to plans.
The illustrations are fun and kids will like the silly things that happen.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.
Thank you to Netgalley and this team for allowing me an advanced reader copy of this book.
This book was so much fun❤️ My girls were engaged throughout the book. I loved that it showed that you could make quite a few mistakes and everything would turn out better than you hoped and hard work always pays off!
But now I also have two little girls asking for a party with baboons 🤦🏼♀️ (iykyk)
such a fun book - what a joy to read and follow the beautiful illustrations.
my kids were laughing while reading it, which is a seal of approval on their part.
they especially love it when things don't go as planned.
Annabelle loves planning the perfect parties and has decided to throw a block party for all her neighbours to attend. When Annabelle plans a party, there is never a mistake, slip-up, or hiccup. Planning this block party was a massive responsibility, and Annabelle wanted to please her neighbours. She had a fantastic grand finale surprise to make her party spectacular, so she asked her brother Anthony for assistance. Throughout the party planning stage, Anthony listened to music with his giant headphones on, and when it was time for Annabelle’s exciting surprise, things did not go as planned.
This picture book is a fun, engaging story that teaches children that our plans do not have to be perfect and we can still have a great time even when things do not go as planned. The storyline is humorous, and the pictures are bright and beautiful. I highly recommend this book for children aged 5 to 8.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this arc in exchange for my honest review.
This book made me giggle! It had so many fun things and surprises!
The illustrations were super fun and colorful and almost jumped off the pages. Especially at the party, there was so much to discover, I loved that!
I love planning fun things long beforehand so it was exciting for me to see Annabelle plan the neighborhood block party! But it is a big responsibility and she wants everything to be perfect, which causes stress and anxiety.
I loved how she asked her brother Anthony to help her and they had so much fun together. But when the party was actually happening, they had some hilarious miscommunications which made Annabelle think everything was ruined until she realizes the unexpected “surprises” actually made everything more fun! A great lesson ;).
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest feedback! This book is beautiful illustrated with bright vibrant colours. It reminded me of books back in the 80s growing up. This book is about a girl named Annabelle who is quite the party planner!! If my kids where still little I definitely would be adding this one to their collection!!
Oh my, spaghetti! This was the most fun, colorful, precious read! The art style is reminiscent of the books I loved as a child. So much thought and details were put into every page and it really shows! This is a book I’d love to read to my child and am already planning on buying a physical copy for my niece. Thank you for this work of love, it’s going to bring joy to so many children and parents alike!
Such a colourful book! And so much of chaos!
A little girl is planning a big big party and she’s rather anxious about what could go wrong. But yes things turn out to be rather what she doesn’t want it to be but… read this book for the surprise ending!
I love the illustrations.
I feel the kid is dealing with anxiety and it made me rather anxious reading this cute book.
Thank you, Two Lions, for the ARC.
This was a really fun story! Annabelle is planning a block party, and everything is going perfectly until her brother mishears her requests…
I think kids will like the silliness that comes from Annabelle and Anthony’s miscommunication. It also subtly teaches a great lesson: that sometimes things don’t go the way we want them to. But that doesn’t mean that it didn’t still go well—we can always look for the silver lining.
A sweet story about a little girl who likes to plan parties. Beautiful and colorful illustrations and a positive message about embracing mistakes.
Quick Summary: A super fun adventure
My Review: Annabelle and the Spaghetti-Confetti Surprise written by Jenna Beatrice and illustrated by Annabel Tempest is a totally cute, insanely funny children's fiction read set to be released in 2025.
About the Book: A young "party planner extraordinaire" is planning a spectacular event for her community. She wants it to be a hit. When she enlists the help of her big brother, things don't go quite as planned. Still, the party ends up being a total success.
What I Loved About This Book:
- The title of this book immediately grabbed my attention. I really liked the thought of "spaghetti-confetti." Before I opened the book, I found myself trying to picture what that might look like. I couldn't help but smile.
- The cover of the book was so happy and colorful. The illustrations came across like an invitation to enter into organized madness of the funny ha-ha variety.
- Every page of the book was a story in and of itself. The simplicity of the words, the detailed drawings, and in particular, the name of the neighborhood grump - I loved it all.
My Final Say: This was such a sweet story. I think that there is a valuable lesson or two hidden in plain sight. I'm sure kiddos will love it. Additionally, I could easily see this becoming a series. It gave off vibes much like Pinkalicious and Fancy Nancy.
