I liked the story of Theodosia King and Field Savage very much. They brought the best and worst in each other and were comical at times, which I enjoyed.
Theo decides after the book listing heiresses is published, she does not intend to endure the silly fools vying for her dowry vs getting to know her as a person, to quit London and head to Brighton. Imagine the shock when her coach is stopped mid journey and Field Savage, the Earl of Saville, stops her to ask why she had ruined his favourite waistcoat and called him a “weed.” He also confronts her to ask why she is running away.
Unfortunately for them, hot on their heels is the band of highwayman who steel their carriage (with the book inside!), take Field's horse, Dream, and leave them stranded on a lonely road! To add insult to injury, Theo realises that she is betrayed by the family’s servants, the coachman and the maid that accompanied her. She is livid!
What follows is the two of them trying to make it to safety and find temporary lodging. All this time alone leads to them falling in love and for Theo to discover a sensitive side of Savage she did not know existed.
All in a cute, fun story that you will enjoy. I received an ARC from the publishers and NetGalley and submit my honest review voluntarily.
This was an entertaining love story. The characters were strong-willed, and their humorous and witty banter was absolutely delightful. There were so many interesting issues and mis adventures that had me chuckling. I enjoyed the outcome of a shocking romance with a happy life. I highly recommend reading!
This was the first book in the series that I had read and understand some books are more standalone than others. The premise of this book is so good and entertaining that I had hoped reading it without first reading the others wouldn’t hinder the enjoyment of the storyline. I wouldn’t recommend it because I feel I missed a lot of the ‘getting to know’ part of the characters and how their relationship had started. This is an enemies to lovers story but you don’t get the real why they are enemies or why Field is such a disagreeable character. Both Field and Theo are great characters that are easy to like but you always feel like something is missing and if you like your characters to like each other and share that feeling, there’s only about 3 pages of it at the end of the book. I kept hoping for them to unite and work to solve their common foes but even when the faced it they bickered and separated. I wanted to like the story more than I did but I know many readers enjoy the angst so Tanya Wildes latest is definitely for you.
I'm kind of conflicted. There were several times that I laughed out loud at the antics of Theodosia and Field. I typically will cry much more while reading than laugh, so that's high praise. The author sure can write witty dialog and banter.
But their predicament just became to be too much and I just wanted them to have some quiet, normal time between the two of them. I was tired FOR them. I wanted them just to have one normal day of eating, drinking, sleeping in a bed, getting to bathe.... and just tell each other their feelings.
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
A Little Bit of Hellion is the fourth book in Tanya Wilde’s ‘Ladies Who Dare’ series.
Although it can be read as a standalone for the romance, reading the previous books might give a better understanding of background events – although Tanya explains it more clearly in this one.
The basic premise is that a few bachelors made a list of pros and cons of several heiresses. Said list was stolen and then listed in White’s betting book leading to them be mentioned in several wagers. To protect them, the men responsible are assigned to individual ladies – which only serves to infuriate them more!
Lady Theodosia King has had enough of being tailed by the infuriating Earl of Savage – especially since he was primarily responsible for the situation she finds herself in – hounded by money minded suitors. She decides to leave London for some respite. But not only does said Earl follow her – they end up being the target of highwaymen! Now stranded with her adversary for company and left penniless, Theo has to forge a reluctant alliance to retrieve a certain book. But the more time she spends in his company the more she realises that she and Field Savage may have more in common that she thought.
This is a smart and funny enemies to lovers/road trip romance with quite a lot of laugh out loud moments with the situations Theo and Field get into. It takes a while for Theo and Field to realise that they are meant for each other but when they do it’s just right. We get to see that Field is not the angry and impulsive boor he sometimes came across as and he opens up to Theo about his past. It was nice to see Field and his sister Selena have a heart to heart since they were mostly at odds in her story [book 3].
This was an entertaining read and I look forward to the next in series. I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A Little Bit of Hellion by Tanya Wilde is part of the Ladies Who Dare series. It features Theodosia King, sister of a marquess. Her mother is anxious for her to marry, so she holds what she calls, “blind matchups,” where in a gentleman comes for a short visit, immediately followed by another. Theodosia is to determine if she likes the man. She manages to scare them all off; sometimes it only takes a minute or two. It is all due to the Earl of Saville who had taken to “protecting” her after that terrible time with the stolen betting book. It contained vulgar bets inspired by the heiress list; a list made up of women with their worst and best traits listed. Now Theodosia had the book and wanted to be rid of it. In order to escape this trial, Theodosia decided to retire to Brighton for the season. The problem being, HE had joined her in the carriage and then they were set upon by thieves in the night. The thieves took all their money and their carriage and horses, leaving them in the woods, alone together. They started walking and finally came upon a small cottage where the people were very friendly. They told the cottagers they were cousins; there was only one bedroom available. The earl had visions of her six brothers catching up with him and beating him to death.
Plenty happened in this entertaining book, including an arranged betrothal for Theodosia, the re-theft of Dream, the Earl’s horse, several times, and the inevitable meeting of the earl and her six brothers. This was fast-paced book, almost a version of keystone cops as Theodosia and the earl regained the book and lost it again; regained his horse and lost it again. Lots of chasing. A little of tying people to trees. An enjoyable read. Oh, by the way, the earl is the hellion. Thanks, Tanya Wilde.
I was invited to read A Little Bit of a Hellion by Dragonblade. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Dragonblade #TanyaWilde #AlittleBitOfHellion
I really enjoyed this book! It‘s a witty and fast paced enemies to lovers story with additional forced proximity and road trip tropes, lots of LOL moments, adventure, action, mishaps, some steam and very likable main and supporting characters. I already knew Theodosia and Field from the previous installment. Their character traits are very similar, both are hot-tempered and forward, which creates a firework of friction, tension, bickering and banter between them throughout the book. I loved how their enmity gradually turned into a protective partnership and love as the story progressed.
I was also pleased to meet Selena and Phineas from the previous book.
As some of the events in this story are related to the events in the previous book, I recommend reading the books in order.
Lady Theodosia „Theo“ King has had enough of her mother’s blind matchups and being chased by her best friend’s older brother and nemesis Saville. So she decides to skip the rest of the season, avoid her overprotective and overbearing brothers whose return to London is expected soon and travel to Brighton.
Field Savage, Earl of Saville, still feels guilty about his involvement in the scandalous list of heiresses in White's betting book, so he takes on the task of protecting Theo from the fortune hunters, despite her taunting and insulting him at every opportunity.
When Field learns that Theo has secretly left London, he immediately sets off on the hunt to confront her about her insults and acts of vandalism towards him and catches up with her. But then they are attacked by a gang of highwaymen who leave them behind both penniless and without means of transport. However, as the betting book was also in the stolen carriage, they are forced to work together and set off in pursuit of the gang...
All in all, a very entertaining read with lots of fun, action and fire that I am happy to recommend!

What is a rebellious young lady to do when she has six brothers who are more than a bit over protective?. Learn how to escape from them and get in lots of trouble is the answer. That is how our heroine thinks. Unfortunately, sometimes, the trouble she gets into affects others who are not happy about it.
Our hero is one of those affected by her mischief, but he also feels guilty about what he did. So he wants to make sure she doesn't get into any more scrapes. That's never going to work.
There is quite the adventure ahead for our characters. Danger, excitement, and giggles galore. A fast paced story that is part of a series, but each book can be read on its own.
Great fun.
Fun, funny and awesome! The fourth book in this series about a list made up by gentlemen of the ton about heiress' looking for husbands. This story is about Field, who lost the list, and Theodosia, the heiress that he had on the list. They are so stubborn, argumentative and a joy to get to know. Theo leaves London with Field following her, what takes place is packed with adventure and fun from a holdup, to a take back, to a farm, to running and so much more. The story is wholly entertaining, the banter will have you laughing hysterically and the six brothers will keep you engaged. Don't miss this creative yet romantic bit of fun.
The opening chapter of this novel had me laughing out loud, and to some extent, the humor continued throughout the novel. The plot became swamped by the ongoing bickering between the main characters and as much as the Earl of Saville would have liked to protect Lady Theodosia, she made it difficult for him at every turn. Sometimes it seemed that the only mature person was the Earl of Warrick, Field's brother-in-law. Theodosia's brothers appear to be protective of her, but in fact, they are bullies with a total disregard for their sister's wishes. Fortunately, Theodosia's mother knows how to handle them. Finally, taking matters into their own hands, the novel comes to a fun conclusion. Part of a series, this romance is nevertheless a standalone. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Based on how book 3 ended, I'm so glad this was the next story in the series. It was pretty obvious that there was a strong connection between Field and Theodosia so I wanted to know what could possibly happen to make them put aside their supposed dislike. The only thing I think was missing from this book was these two characters having the true heart-to-heart they needed to have - with him explaining enough about his past to explain why her calling him a weed was so devastating to him and with her telling him more about why his comment about her eyes was so hurtful. Other than that, I loved them having to work together after being robbed and their antics in getting their belongings back. I'm glad the plot involving the Black Knight was resolved before the end - although I did want to know what ended up happening with the servants who had betrayed Theodosia (or at least Theodosia getting to confront them herself). Theodosia's brother's hearts were initially in the right place, but trying to force her to marry someone she was adamant about not wanting to marry was way too overbearing. Luckily Theodosia's mother knows how to take control of a situation. The ending was perfect for these characters, and it was nice that they got to have a double wedding with their best friends. I especially liked the last part between Field and Selena - they needed that moment and it was really sweet. I think I know the direction the final book in the series will take and I'm looking forward to it!
This was so much fun to read ! I loved Theo and Field - all their bickering was so fun and their drunken night was sweet and spicy all at once . I will prob go back and read the first 3 books … the brothers were a bit annoying but I feel like perhaps they will get their own love stories in future books
An adventurous tale with mishaps, fun and suspenseful moments, and lots of cracking dialogue.
Field is an Earl who loves gossip sheets and natty waistcoats who is protecting Theodosia by following her.
Theo does not feel she needs his help as she is independent, wisecracking, and able to defend herself.
A merry chase ensues with multiple episodes of “what have we gotten ourselves into now”.
Loved the fun and action.
Such a good book. Range WIlde is an amazing author. Her characters are enchanting but strong. This book is fantastic!
I don't like giving anything away. Just read it and enjoy!!
I know I will recommend this book to friends and family.
What an absolute ‘WILDE’ ride this is. Theo is a wildcat and she calls Field a hellion! This is truly one of the funniest and most fun books I have read this year. I am a “banter” fan and this story doles it out in spades! Watching these two duke it out was hilarious, fun, sweet, sad and happy all throughout . I adored Theo’s very spirited attitude towards her brothers and how she gave as good as she got with them. Her mother is hilariously devious, handling said brothers with ease. Would have loved to have seen a scene where the brothers figure out they had been outmaneuvered by the two women in their lives, especially Seth! I felt for Field, trying hard to overcome the abuse he dealt with as a child and the secret his sister spilled at the end was very touching. A GREAT read! You REALLY need to pick this story up!
I received this story for free and these are my own opinions
Theo has had enough of fortune hunters as well as Field who has always irritated her. Field follows her to Brighton and when he catches up to her on the road they are held up by highwaymen who take everything. With no money, they must rely on each other to survive. They decide to go in pursuit of the highwaymen while Theo’s brothers are in pursuit of them. Can they ignore their growing feelings for each other? I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.
Fred Savage, Earl of Saville, and Lady Theodosia King seem the most unlikely pair to be together. Too much alike to be amiable. Yet the book of White's brings them together on a journey filled with traitors, highwaymen, the book taken and a night in a country cottage. With continuing problems to pass the book to the next heiress, Fred and Theo discover they have more in common than they realized. Unfortunately, her six brothers and the Black Highwayman continue to harass them. Descriptive sex, lots of kisses, a coach full of humor and her mother who has a plan.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from NetGalley.
Wilde’s Ladies Who Dare series is impeccably funny and swoony, and this last installment is no exception. A Little Bit of Hellion is wonderfully funny, romantic without being cringey, and Theodosia and Field are the enemies to lovers couple you want to root for a happy ending. Another winner from Tanya Wilde!
