A real gem
This series keeps getting better and I didn't even realize that was a possibility! I am absolutely in love with everything this book is: the characters, the plot, the romance, the world, the magic - EVERYTHING! After the cliffhanger of the previous book, I didn't know what to think, what to feel, and the author brought the story together so beautifully that I just couldn't stop reading. I love Zarya with all my heart, she's such a strong, intelligent and powerful woman. As for the romance, it is exquisite, a real delight to read, full of tension, devotion, chemistry and love, everything I look for the most in a fantasy romance book. The world is so interesting, so well-written, and the author guides us through it in a way that is gripping and immersive. And the magic! In this one, we learn even more about how it works and I was astounded in the best way about those new information. The plot was intense, full of action and plottwists that stole my breath, and I just can't wait to read the final book in the series.
I HIGHLY recommend this amazing series!
"I would have waited until the sun burned out of the sky, Spitfire. I thought I made that clear."
What a whirlwind this book was! I find this world I credibly unique and it just sucks you right in. Zarya had grown a lot in this book and it feels like you’ve seen her mature in so many ways. She was understandably naive in book 1 and it’s so rewarding to see her come into her own in this book. The romance was one of my favorite things about this series initially, and I’m happy to say this I enjoyed it again much more in this book than the previous installment. This is a strong series and I can’t wait to see where it goes in the upcoming finale!
Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. I absolutely LOVED books 1 and 2, but this one dragged for me and I could not finish it. The storyline was very slow, and the writing felt immature, juvenile at times. Some modern slang was also included and it felt off. I'm so sad about this but it didnt work for me.
Absolutely love anything that Nisha writes to begin with. Storm of Ink and Blood proves that we're working towards something big for book 4!
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
I don't know why I put off reading this out of fear that I wouldn't remember what happened in the previous books. Nisha gives the best who's who at the beginning of the book and the first few chapters make it so easy to slip back into this world!
I am fully invested in Zarya at this point and cannot wait to see how her story continues in the finale of this quartet. This world is so easy to read with some fantastic characters to love. It's a fast paced read throughout, no chapter feels like it shouldn't be there.
I've be sad to see this quartet end but cannot wait to find out what happens in the conclusion!
I received an ARC of this. I struggled with this one tbh. I think it was the pacing again. And something about the way it was written kept making me thing something bad was RIGHT around the corner - like it felt as if there was a build-up to big plot points happening but then they just… didn’t? Still such an interesting world though!
This series. I think I'm in love with Nisha J. Tuli's writing. Her characters. Her world building. HER DESCRIPTION OF INDIAN CUISINE! The magic system? The mythology tied into the story? It's all incredible. This series packs an absolute punch and I will be recommending it to anyone and everyone wheather they are fantasy enthusiasts or not. The romance within the book is also incredible. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this series and I hope that I continue to be selected for ARCs, especially from Nisha!
The story finally continues in this new book. As we learned at the end of the previous book, a new city would be explored by Zarya and our favorite character, Yasen. A new city means new friends and a new cause to fight for.
The story starts when Zarya and Yasen are making a move for the rebel group that they joined. It is interesting to discover their new cause. It is good to see the prophecy coming true and Zarya developing her powers.
The story would not be complete without her love interest, Rabin. At the end of the last book, they did not part on good terms so here we can see them reconnecting and Rabin grovelling.
This was an amazing read with all of our favorite characters, a new setting, meeting Zarya's family and the story unfolding further. I can't wait for the next book!
Thank you NetGalley, Second Sky and Nisha J. Tuli for the copy that I received. This is my honest review.
This is the kind of series that has you literally jumping up in bed when something crazy happens and looking around because there’s no way that just happened. This Is the fourth book I’ve read by this author and it is safe to say…. I will in fact be reading everything by this author !!!
Storm of Ink and Blood was such a treat of a fantasy book! I was whisked away on a wonderful adventure filled with danger, secrets and magic. This book and in fact the entire series has kept me equally invested and captivated. That has a lot to do with a rich and descriptive story but also the characters.
The author has created an array of different and intriguing characters. Which in turn really brings them to life for the reader. I was rooting for Zarya throughout. She has such a strong and determined personality but also finds herself in such a tricky situation. There is a gorgeous romance within the story and I loved the combination of sweet and spicy moments. Although I have to say some of the my favourite parts in this book were between Zarya and Yasen. I love those two together, their friendship is perfect!
Storm of Ink and Blood was action packed at times but also has characters that you really care about. The world building is spot on and I felt like I could really visualise it as I read. The found family trope is also done so well in this series. All that’s left to say is that I can’t wait to read more, bring on the next book!
I really enjoyed this next book in the series.
I wish some of it happened a little faster but overall it was solid.
The spice, the romance, the action, and that cliffhanger. While the cliffhanger wasn't huge I'm a little scared of what my fav couple will face in the next book.
I love this series!
4.4 🌟 3.5 🌶
The way we got more in-depth character development and communication.
The description of the food makes me hungry ever time it comes up.
Rabin... that man is EVERYTHING! He is big, strong, dominating and also a soft teddy bear. Melt, swoon, I NEED MORE!
Zarya... Can we say BADA** Queen!! I need her to realize more often that she can do the things and to do them.
Yasen... OH OUR AMAZING YASEN! His loyalty, his devotion, his friendship😍🫶🫂😭 He is the ultimate friend and all friendships should be compared to him.. PERIOD!
I've been looking forward to diving back into Zarya's world and this certainly didn't disappoint. We pick up a little way after the last book left off, following Zarya and Yas on their adventures and discovering a new city and new characters along the way. The book has enough action to keep the plot moving forward and make the story interesting whilst still allowing time to explore Zarya's powers and the way she left things with Rabin after discovering the truth. There's not too much to say without giving away spoilers so I'll say this was a great third instalment in the series and really brought some interesting plot points whilst moving the story along. I can't wait to see what comes next!
I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own,
I will never get enough of this series! Even though this book was definitely more of a filler, it was still filled with no stop action and drama. I am loving all of the character development we are getting with these character.
Zarya has become such a strong character throughout this series. She went from someone who lived in a literal swamp without real access to the outside world to trying to save the damn world. She has her sights set on making things right, but not in a way that is out of the realm of possibility. She truly cares about others and just wants to do what is right. I also love her journey of forgiveness as it too shows her growth and maturity. First it was forgiving Row, and now she was able to forgive Rabin. It will be interesting to see how she responds to her father.
Rabin went through his own journey as well. He got his head on right though as he now will put Zarya's wellness before even his own. He understands that his role in life is beside hers, and not once did he show that he was displeased by this. We love a confident and sell-assured king (consort).
The found family trope still goes strong with this book. Now we have added Zarya's brother to the mix. His allegiance surprised me the most, but I love it. Him and Yasen together are so cute and I need them to have their happily ever after along with everyone else.
This book did not leave off on a cliffhanger like I was expecting it to. Yes, we are now going into uncharted territory with going to Zarya's father to stay low, the same man who has already shown his disapproval of her and Rabin's relationship. It should be very interesting to witness. I really cannot wait for the next book in this series and I am not ready for it to end!
As usual, the spice was spicing, but it was so much deeper than that. Zarya and Rabin have my whole heart!
Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Holy this was another great book in the Nightfire Quartet. Full of plot and lore and culture. I have so enjoyed learning new to me terms. Nisha is killing it. Can’t wait to read book 4! Thank you so much for this ARC opportunity.
This was so good! I loved seeing Zarya and Rabin finally communicating well and getting to see their relationship progress. I do love them together so much, but Rabin's actions (while understandable in theory) were giving angry toddler throwing a tantrum at the end when he didn't know where Zarya was. It was really fun to watch Zarya come to learn her powers more and become more confident in herself and her abilities. Zarya and Yasen's friendship is so elite, I'm obsessed with them and need even more of them in the next book. Also hoping we get to see more of Amrita again, as she was just chilling as a pregnant tree in this one and we didn't see much of her. There are a lot of characters in this series which made it a little confusing to remember who everyone is. BUT Nisha made it very easy to reference who characters are by including a glossary of names, terms, places, etc. at the beginning of the book for my poor forgetful brain as a refresher! Thanks Netgalley for the e-ARC!
'"Today we are bound, body and spirit, and I will do everything I can to be worthy of you." He gripped the back of her neck, staring into her eyes as he f**ked her, slow and deep.'
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nisha has absolutely knocked this out of the park yet again! This is my fave book of the series so far and I am itching to get my hands on the fourth book already.
There was never a dull moment. It was fast-paced, and the relationship between Zarya and Rabin has be in such a chokehold, and OMG, the SPICE!!! 🌶🌶🌶
If you are a fan of romantasy, this is a must read.
Thank you, Nisha and Second Sky, for the ARC.
This series is so good and I loved returning to this world! I loved seeing how the world expanded and we got to meet new characters! The romance has me very intrigued and I really enjoy all the characters even the ones I hate! I cannot wait to see how it concludes in the next book. Will be adding to our library 100%!
What a stunning return to a series that has grown incredibly close to my heart. Storm of Ink and Blood takes us straight back into the action, where we now see Zarya dealing with the events of book 2, especially Rabin's betrayal. This book is full of adventure and honestly, the pacing is pretty damn good; like once the action starts, it doesn't stop at all. Within the pages of this book we see Zarya fully embrace who she is and what her destiny might be and that journey was really incredible to experience. I loved that we get Rabin's POV and see him be obsessed with Zarya; seriously, he is so in love and so unabashedly honest and open about it, it is amazing to see.
One thing that I really liked was seeing how reluctant Zarya was to let Rabin in at first, and not relenting even though that's what her heart wants. The progression of their relationship in this book was full of emotions and alongside the plot, that was my favourite thing. And the spice, let me just say...it is spicy af. And I freaking love it.
Something that I am eager to see in the next book - what are Raja Abhishek's motives? As much as I want to like him, there is just something about him that is keeping me on edge and I have a feeling the next book will tell me why. All in all, this was such a great read and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!
Loved it! And i absolutely love Rabin!!! Great sequal and can’t wait for the next book in this series
