This book kept me up until the sun was rising. From the outset I was riveted to the story of how
Reacher managed to get himself roped into an op of sorts, and one he had no good reason to
care about. BUT… we all know Jack. My curiosity ran high through this adventure~Reacher had
NO good reason to have landed where he did… Because he has such a strong sense of right
and wrong, even landing in the wrong place at the wrong time and with the wrong people,,
if someone. needs help, he will be there.
As in most adventures, when he ends up casually paired with a woman, sparks fly.
I rather liked this woman, and would not mind if she appears in future stories.
This is a great story with lots of moving parts, and the whole thing gets nicely wrapped.
I like that any Reacher book can. be read as a standalone. I also enjoyed the clever
use of language throughout.
My thanks to Delacorte Press via Net Galley for the download of this book for review purposes.
Of course I am a Jack Reacher fan! And the latest is quite excellent.
Reacher has been in an auto accident. He regains consciousness, gradually realizing that his wrist is broken and that he is handcuffed to a metal table. His captor mistakenly believes that he has the situation well in hand.
Unlike many of the Reacher novels, this story involves only one character from a previous novel, FBI Special Agent Wallwork. Even so, there is no doubt it is a wonderful extension of the series.
4.25 stars. Was this the best book I've ever read? No. Do I always have fun spending time with Reacher? Yes.
We start the book with Reacher regaining consciousness, hands and feet shackled and a broken wrist. Oh no! How will he beat people up with a bad hand and a concussion that prevents him from head butting people? (spoiler: shouldn't be toooo worried)
Another solid mystery with bad guys, a pretty lady, coffee, pie, etc. (I liked that this book was set in the present timeline and not a flashback to his military time.) Hope there are 29 more to come in the series!

As a fan of the Reacher series, I always look forward to each new endeavor of the Child’s. This installment I found to be rather insipid, shallow and unrealistic. The characters, for the most part, are not likable and it strains the imagination to think that Reacher, with a broken wrist, could do the things he does throughout the novel. The story is mildly interesting but, as a whole, somewhat disappointing.
I thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to its publication.
For those needing a “Reacher Fix”, this book will cure what ails you. Trouble somehow always seems to find our hero, and in this installment of the series, Reacher starts off not.knowing how he got where he is. The reader learns along with him, and along the way the bad guys learn something too: don’t mess with Reacher.
This was my first Reacher book, but I have seen the show. I pictured the Reacher from the show in my mind the whole time while reading it.
This was an exciting book. An undercover fed is possibly dead that was infiltrating a crime ring. Reacher is just simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets caught up in the mess. Or I guess you could call it the right place, since he ends up saving the day.
Reacher is a badass, but he is also weird. He doesn’t know anything about how to work phones or computers, but somehow he is always one step ahead of everyone. I find his character very interesting. Now that I have read one of the books I can say that the show captures his character very well.
I think if you enjoy the show or other Reacher books, you will like this, as well. Action packed with a little sprinkle of romance too.

Reacher had no idea where he was. No idea how he had gotten there. But someone must have brought him. And shackled him. And whoever had done those things was going to rue the day. That was for damn sure!! Great book! This book had suspense, intrigue, action packed, murder, mystery, a great who done it and a few twists and turns. The storyline was interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
This one is a winner!!! Once more the father and son partnership has crafted a tightly woven novel with a quickly moving plot. This is a classic Reacher story, with him ending up in the wrong place at the right time, putting him in a position to act on a problem.
Filled with lots of action, this book had me flipping pages just as quickly as possible. Fans of the genre will love this book. The authors and masters of their craft and at the top of my must read authors' list.
