**Review of *Into the Well***

*Into the Well* is a profound and evocative memoir that invites readers on a journey of spiritual reconnection and ancestral remembrance. Jennifer’s exploration of her Irish heritage and the magical priestess path is not just a personal narrative; it’s a rich tapestry woven with the threads of history, nature, and divine wisdom.

Jennifer’s unique background in neuroscience and genetics adds an intriguing layer to her storytelling. While she acknowledges her scientific training, she gracefully shifts the focus from empirical knowledge to the experiential wisdom found in the natural world and ancient traditions. This blending of the rational and the mystical enriches her narrative, making it accessible to readers from various backgrounds.

The book is structured around Jennifer’s encounters with the sacred elements of the Irish landscape—trees, bees, water, stones, and ley lines—each serving as a vessel of the Goddess wisdom she seeks to reclaim. Her poetic descriptions breathe life into the land, making it feel like a character in its own right. The way she evokes the spirit of the Irish countryside encourages readers to reflect on their own connections to nature and the sacred.

What stands out most is Jennifer’s deep reverence for the Old Ways. She beautifully articulates how these ancient practices and beliefs can be revitalized in our contemporary lives. The idea that the wisdom of the past can inform and guide the present is a powerful message, and Jennifer’s journey serves as a testament to the resilience of cultural heritage.

As Jennifer recounts her experiences, her voice is both personal and universal, allowing readers to engage with her journey on multiple levels. It’s a story of empowerment and awakening, urging us to listen to the whispers of our ancestors and the teachings of the Earth.

*Into the Well* is a poignant reminder that our connection to the land and our lineage is not only relevant but essential in navigating today’s world. This memoir is a treasure for anyone interested in spirituality, nature, and the enduring magic of ancestral wisdom. It encourages a reconnection with our roots and inspires us to embrace the old while forging new paths. A beautifully crafted work that will resonate long after the last page is turned.

I had solid reasons for requesting this book, one being the author’s background in neuroscience and a few elements that our lives had in common, and my love for Ireland and its stories/folklore/myths.
Connolly does a great job in terms of covering a wide range of Ireland’s amazing cultural heritage, however despite the topic being a favourite, I struggled with this book. To leave it at the constructive level, could I say it was simply not what I had hoped it was?
I wish this book and the author the most magical journeys ever.
A good compilation of the topics, myths, locations.
