Ok, but what the actual CRAP was up with that "twist." Seriously???? The ONLY reason I finished was because I was already like 3 chapters from the end but this was the DUMBEST thing I have ever read in my entire life. It makes the main character go from a troubled person that readers might actually empathize with to a shallow, ridiculous, pathetic moron that wasted SO MUCH OF EVERYONE'S TIME.
Absolutely hated this.

This may have been a book for young adults but I was thoroughly enmeshed in the storyline. I love Wolitzer's writing and the characters who inhabit her stories. I question whether there is a high school for emotionally fragile students, but in this case I was willing to suspend my disbelief.

I requested this one back in the day as I had every intention of reading it. However, its been years and I still haven't gotten around to it and while I feel guilty at not reviewing a book I think that I need to admit to myself that I won't be reading this one anytime soon....if at all.
