This is not the book I am normally interested in due to the time frame (I prefer WWII and anything prior), but I will say I enjoyed this book and it definitely kept me interested!

Wally is no ordinary girl growing up in Brooklyn Heights, NY during World War II. She's not attracted to girly things, Its a mother-daughter story filled with a whole array of interesting characters.
